In order to support the realization of the aspiration to build character as mandated in Pancasila and the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution and to overcome current national problems, the Government of Indonesia has made character education one of the priority programs for national assessment. This is a challenge for educators, teachers and education practitioners to make it happen. However, until now there has been no instrument capable of measuring character. This study aims to determine the development process and the feasibility and benefits of a character survey instrument which is part of a national assessment that must be implemented by teachers to students in schools. The research method used is a development research method with the ADDIE research design coined by Dick and Carry. This research was conducted at several schools in West Java with a sample of 10 physics teachers who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the character survey instrument is a valid and reliable instrument with a high category. So, it can be concluded that this character survey instrument is an instrument that is suitable to be used for assess and identify the character of students.

Aiming at the situation that the phase-functioned neural network can’t produce natural action or interact with the world poorly in some specific scenes, this paper proposes to divide different states according to the phase information of characters, and train several independent networks with different weights to predict the next frame state of characters. The experimental results show that, while the complexity of the model is reduced, the action generated by this method is more natural and fluent, which has good application value.

Turkey berry (Solanum torvum Sw.) plant is originated from America, then spread widely to Asian regions. They used as food and pharmaceutical. The differences of latitude affecting morphological variations of Turkey berry since it affecting the physicochemical condition of their habitat, namely temperature and pH. Environmental temperature is one of important factor since it influencing the interaction process, while pH determines the growth and formation of chlorophyll. Morphological variations in turkey berry plant cause a similarity relationship that can examined using phenetic analysis. Currently, studies of turkey berry phenetic analysis based on morphological characters have not been done yet. This study examines the morphological variations of turkey berry that grow in different altitude specifically in the Semarang area. The sampling method which used in this study is the purposive sampling method. Turkey berry samples were obtained from altitude of 300, 600 and 900 above sea level respectively. Data analysis was performed using MVSP (MultiVariate Statistical Package) application. The algorithm used in the MVSP application is UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmatic Mean) with the Simple Matching Coefficient method, or grouping method with the complaints of paired pairs by analysis of the distance between pairs. The Operations Taxonomic Units (OTUs) analyzes 27 individuals, with 33 different morphological characters. Phenetic analysis shows the coefficient corelation between OTUs reaches 0.81 which is divided into 2 main clusters and 11 sub-clusters. This shows that turkey berry does not form subspecies to grow in different inner regions.

Audiovisual media is a set of tools that can project moving images and sound. This study aims to produce audio-visual learning media that integrates character education in chemistry learning to facilitate conceptual change and strengthen student character. This research is development research which includes three stages, namely preliminary studies, development, and validation, as well as testing and implementation to produce valid, practical, and effective audio-visual learning media. The validation was carried out by three experts through Focus Group Discussion. The audio-visual media and learning tools developed were tested on state senior high school students 1 Kabila Gorontalo. The research data technique used observation and three-level diagnostic tests. The data analysis used a qualitative descriptive technique. The results obtained are audio-visual learning media developed with validity with very valid categories, practicality with very high categories, and effective in shifting students’ conceptions from misconceptions and not seeing concepts to understanding concepts with high N-Gain. category, which is 0.83. This study concludes that the audiovisual learning media and learning tools developed are of good quality.

Discrepancy Evaluation Models(DEM) of Information Technology-based Project Assignment Programs in learning Physics are conducted to see whether there are gaps so that the effectiveness of the program can be continued or not. The evaluation technique is carried out by conducting interviews with supporting lecturers, observing lecture processes, and questionnaires to supporting lecturers and students. The results showed that (1) Information technology-based Project assignment program in learning Physics was carried out well with a score of 3.70. (2) The program can be done by giving students assignments by making applied physics products that can be utilized in everyday life, then presented to see the truth of the physical concept and the clarity of the product made, then students upload the video to YouTube to see the market response. (3) Information technology-based project assignment programs in physics learning provide a clear picture of how physics works in the community. The integration of Economics of Science, entrepreneurship, Nature of Science can better provide a clear picture of how Physics works in society. Thus this program can be continued by revising several existing stages.

The precipitation behavior of the second phase in Fe-18Cr-17Mn-2Mo-0.85N high nitrogen and nickel-free austenitic stainless steel after grain boundary character distribution (GBCD) optimization was investigated. The results show that the fraction of low Σ coincidence site lattice (CSL) boundaries increases from 47.9% for the solid solution treated specimen to 82.25% for the specimen cold-rolled by 5% and then annealed at 1423 K for 72 h (r5%-a1423 K/72 h). Compared with the solution treated sample, nitride precipitation is obviously restrained and the fraction of precipitates is the least in r5%-a1423 K/72 h sample with the highest proportion of SBs. The appearance of a high proportion of CSL boundaries with low energy inhibits the nitrides precipitation through GBCD optimization.

This paper proposes a character-level representation of unsupervised text data sets for anomaly detection problems. An empirical examination of the character-level text representation was conducted to demonstrate the ability to separate outlying and normal records using an ensemble of multiple classic numerical anomaly classifiers. Experimental results obtained on two different data sets confirmed the applicability of the developed unsupervised model to detect outlying instances in various real-world scenarios, providing the opportunity to quickly assess a large amount of textual data in terms of information consistency and conformity without knowledge of the data content itself.

Image-to-Image translation is a class of problems which aim to translate images from domain A into domain B. Some methods have been proposed to solve these problems, each of which being skilled in some specific tasks, e.g., CycleGAN for translating images into Monet style, U-GAT-IT for translating selfies into anime characters. This paper discusses how to finish an A→B task through combining an A→C approach and a C→B approach, and carries out experiments on generating anime characters with makeup from selfies combining CycleGAN, BeautyGAN and U-GAT-IT. The result shows that sequence is a key factor in our approach, and the reason why different sequences produce different results is analyzed.

Career guidance quests that involve solving intellectual and search problems in a game are associated with one’s future career, being one of modern means of recruiting school leavers to vocational and higher educational institutions. Such specific computer tools of virtual and augmented reality as pupils’ mobile Internet gadgets can enhance visual character and interactivity of quest problems. The article deals with applying augmented reality in the web environment to solving these tasks. The authors propose a prototype of a career guidance quest system using WebAR technology.

In this paper we proposed an automatic splicing algorithm for regular cross-cut single-sided shreds of pure Chinese document, which was based on the characteristics of character and typesetting. The algorithm began with extracting the characteristics including character width, character height, line height and line spacing, after which the shreds meeting the typesetting requirement were spliced according to the edge similarity. Afterwards, the horizontal projection vectors of the shreds were corrected and the shreds were clustered by row according to horizontal projection similarity. A greedy algorithm with rejection strategy was then used to complete the intra-cluster horizontal splicing of shreds based on edge similarity. The experiment results revealed that the algorithm proposed in this paper had the characteristics of both high splicing speed and high accuracy.

Several values came from learning sources are needed to support character-based learning. This research aims to produce character values-loaded chemistry module in redox reaction and compound nomenclature materials. The module contains various values: religious, intellectual, education, moral-ethics, economic (practical), and social-politics. This research adapted R&D with Borg & Gall model. Trial product was implemented for 30 grade X students of State Senior High School Banda Aceh. Data were collected using questionnaire, written test, and documentation. Analysis of needs showed that modules are limited which supported character-based learning. The results indicated that the module is very feasible to be tested for learning as shown as expertise assessment with 84.94%. In addition, the percentage is also supported by limited trial on MGMP chemistry teacher with 85.29% for module feasibility. After applied for learning, the learning outcomes of redox reaction and compound nomenclature were improved based on moderate score level of N-gain with 0.63. The students’ perception indicated their acceptance for developing module with various categories percentages, 39.51% strongly agree, 51.36% agree, 7.16% doubtful, 1.85% disagree, and 0.12% strongly disagree. Therefore, the character values-loaded module is feasible to be tested and used for learning because it successfully improved students learning outcome.

Handwritten Character Recognition (HCR) of Indic scripts is one of the most challenging as compared other scripts. Recognition of handwritten character is more difficult one as compares with the printed one due to their similar structure and orientation. To have a proper recognition system for handwritten characters various researchers have adapted various methods and still yet to have more feasibility and high recognition rate to achieve. Here in this proposed work we have completely focused on handwritten characters and numerals of various scripts of different regions of India such as Bengali, Odia scripts. To have a proper solution for the ambiguities that arises in handwritten one and which has been resolved using the Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) as feature extraction part. This transformed based featured is used to calculated GLCM values of each images of handwritten numerals and characters. To maintain the novelty of the work in simulation part we have listed up variance nature of the individual’s images. Subsequently we have also harnessed the SVM, Neural Network, and Quadratic Classifier over dataset to report the recognition rate. After validating the proposed work, we can conclude that adopted model is quite helpful in building the automatic recognition system for both handwritten character and numerals to have solution for real time problems.

This study aims to (1) explain the factual cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type in elementary school, (2) explain the design of the character-based cooperative learning model that can improve understanding of science in elementary school, (3) explain the hypothetical model of character-based cooperative learning. understanding of science in elementary school after going through the validation test, (4) Explaining the final cooperative learning model based on character-based jigsaw can improve understanding of science in elementary school after going through a limited test. This study uses a Research & Development (R&D) approach. The research design used is based on the development carried out by Borg and Gall which consists of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing and product revision. The product produced from this research is a character-based cooperative learning model. The limited trial results also showed an increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class, from 52.90 to 80.58. The development of a character-based jigsaw-type cooperative learning model can also improve the character of being friendly and socially caring.

Decision making plays a vital role within uncertain, imprecise situations in recent years. A numerical actualize called soft set by Molodtsov was started to bargain uncertain condition. Herein article, inverse triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy soft set theory is analyzed in decision making. Inverse fuzzysoft set theory is an extension of fuzzy soft set theory which gives deeper insights in decision making and gives a technique to portray the character of each object in the universe. An application of inverse triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy soft set is established in the course of case study in multi-criteria decision making.

This research is aimed to describe about the using of Figure Character media to introduce adjective in English learning for children to increase the students of teacher elementary program of STKIP Muhamadiyah Blora exploring media in English learning. This research happen is caused by the use of media in English learning is low in Blora area, so those reason became a motivation to make English learning process better and more effective. This research is descriptive qualitative research in case study method. Qualitative research is explained in words, phrases, sentences or paragraphs. The collecting data method uses questioner and interview. The two methods to collect variaty answers in the use of Figure Character media. Demontration mastery to attract the students is chosen and consulted to the expert. The result of this research is the using of learning media Figure Character to introduce adjective to the children in English learning can improve the students’ interest and spirit. Besides, the teacher become easier to teach the mastery by using they own learning media. The media usage can build an interesting learning process for the teacher and the students. The informans of this research are agree that using Figure Character media can ease the teacher to introduce adjective to the children as elementary students with high entusiasm. This research has motivated the teacher candidate to use learning media.

Famous scientific characters and knowledge are well developed and developed in the context of education in schools. This study aims to optimize the use of inquiry models based on neuroscience approaches in learning physics to improve students’ character and scientific knowledge. This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted in one of the senior high schools in the tenth grade located in Bima Regency. The instrument used consisted of two tests to see an increase in scientific knowledge and a non-test to observe an increase in student character. Method This study uses one group pretest-posttest design and descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research through the N-Gain normalization test showed that students ‘scientific knowledge increased in the medium category and the students’ character developed well according to the implications after the application of inquiry learning through the neuroscience approach to learning physics.

Character recognition is one of the steps in the number plate recognition system. Character recognition is done to get text character data. The method used is YOLOv3 (You Only Look Once), and Darknet-53 is used as a feature extractor. In this study, the data used were number plate images derived from the extraction and cropping of motorized vehicle videos that had been taken using cellphones and cameras. Testing is done with two different models, namely the model obtained with additional preprocessing data and the model obtained without any preprocessing data. Data preprocessing is done to improve the quality of the number plate image. Testing is done on an uninterrupted number plate image dataset and a number plate image dataset with interference and a reduction of color intensity (brightness) in the image. For the model obtained from the data without preprocessing, the highest number plate recognition accuracy obtained is 80%, and the character recognition accuracy is 97.1%. Meanwhile, for the model obtained from preprocessing data, the highest number plate recognition accuracy obtained was 88%, and the character recognition accuracy was 98.2%.

To improve the real-time and accuracy of intelligent vehicle character recognition algorithm, this paper mainly studies a new method for license plate location and character cutting: license plate location is carried out by combining HSV color space recognition with Sobel edge detection. The outer rectangle of the outermost contour of the character is used to judge the character boundary and segment the character. First, the original picture is converted to the HSV space, then the color information of the license plate is combined with the edge information to locate the license plate roughly, and finally the specific position of the license plate is determined according to the aspect ratio of the license plate. The location of the license plate is extracted for character segmentation preprocessing. Then, by traversing, the contour which meets the aspect ratio condition is found and the corresponding circumscribed rectangle is taken. The coordinate information of the rectangle is extracted and stored as a matrix, which is the basis of character segmentation. It is proved that this method has better accuracy and reliability than the traditional methods.

During the running of serial manipulator, unbalanced force produced by base with respect to the floor has a great effect on the accuracy of manipulator’s end. Aiming at the above problem, we take the three-degree-of-freedom serial manipulator as an example to analysis. First, taking advantage of the methodology of Newton-Euler dynamics to derive the relative force between two joint rods and base with respect to the floor while the manipulator is at the period of working. Then, building the spring-damp vibration model to calculate the parameter formula of the base with relative to the ground. Finally, analysing the characteristics of vibration and giving measures of reducing vibration, simulating to prove the effectivity using MATLAB. The simulation results show that when choosing other values of ωn and ξ, vibration amplitude has significant decrease compared with the conditions of ωn = ωi or ξ =0.414 when other parameters unchanged, which provides a certain reference for further research on vibration reduction of series manipulator.

This research aims to develop VCD media on character-based innovative learning models. The type of this research is the study of R & D with Four-D). The analysis of the data used to develop the models of learning and development within the VCD pieces is using the sheet media expert assessment and experts’ and students’ responses. Based on the evaluation through questionnaires by material experts showed 87.0% for character-based PBL Learning plan and got 85.9% for Cooperative Learning Model type TS-TS, both including its category Neither instrument of Lesson Plan. Results of the validation study model VCD by a media expert with the details of the quantitative results are obtained to have an average percentage of 84.70% for VCD character-based PBL learning model and 88.2% for the type of cooperative learning model TS-TS. From these results, it can be concluded that the media VCD learning model being developed has fulfilled the good criterion. Meanwhile, based on student questionnaires obtained quantitative data has a percentage of 80.60% for VCD on character-based PBL learning model and 84.7% for the type of cooperative learning model TS-TS. Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed media is already categorized to be good.

With the continuous progress and development of society, text classification has become an important task in the field of text data mining and text value exploration. Compared with existing text classification technology, deep learning technology has many advantages, such as high accuracy and effective feature extraction. This paper is mainly based on the character convolutional neural network to study the classification performance of different texts, hoping to provide experience for related research work. Through research, it is found that character-level convolutional neural network deep learning technology can achieve Chinese text classification more effectively.

The instilling of national character value may be achieved through learning. Therefore, this study aims to create a Lesson Plan, which integrates the characters of curiosity and responsibility with a scientific approach and to determine product validity. Research and Development (R&D) was used as a model for conducting this study. The Research and Development used Borg and Gall model. Furthermore, the characteristics of the developed lesson Plan were evident in the syntax/learning steps, which were organized according to curiosity indicators and responsibility characters. This study involved 2 expert validators and 1 school practitioner. The instrument used was a learning plan validation sheet. The results showed that the Lesson Plan with a scientific approach may be used to develop the character of curiosity and responsibility for students in junior high school. This can be seen from the validity of three aspects which is the format (100%), language (98,33%) and content (97,47%) which are very good qualification. It can be concluded that the lesson plan developed is valid and able to building curiosity and responsibility character student.

Digital characters are widely used in fields such as industry, equipment display and detection. According to the application background of reading recognition of electronic scale in chemical experiment examination of middle school, in order to improve the application of artificial intelligence in the education field, meet the requirements of intelligent examinations, and save manpower, a character positioning and recognition method based on the combination of deep learning and traditional image processing is proposed, which can automatically and quickly identify the reading of digital tube display screen of electronic scale, and according to the test requirements and test sites can automatically determine whether the students’ weighing operation is correct. Firstly, the yolov3 target detection algorithm and deeplabv3plus semantic segmentation algorithm are used to locate the character area of the display screen, and then a single digital tube character is obtained by projection segmentation. Finally, the recognition algorithm based on support vector machine is used to recognize characters. The experimental results show that the method has a high accuracy of positioning and recognition, and can adapt to different lighting, digital tube size and character tilt angle, has certain anti-interference ability, meets the real-time requirements, and has high application value.

In view of the current problems in the field of Chinese news, such as chaotic news data and lack of automatic and efficient management, most of the existing Chinese text classification methods take word characteristics as the basic unit of text representation, but ignore the beneficial performance of character characteristics. In this paper, an automatic classification method of Chinese news based on character-level convolutional neural networks(char-CNN) is proposed. In order to compare with traditional models and deep learning models, we constructed a large scale Chinese news corpus to show that character-level convolutional neural networks could achieve the most advanced or competitive results.

Mobile has become a basic necessity at this time. Everyone certainly has a cellphone according to their daily needs. To capture connections and carry out various activities with just one hand. The object of this research is a review of smartphones that have the best artificial intelligent cameras. Data processing methods used in research using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. Naïve Bayes is known as one of the methods with the best classification accuracy results for text mining. The research objective is to facilitate customers who will buy a smartphone with the best AI camera without having to read product reviews. So that it can see based on the classification of positive text and label negative text classification. In this study, n-gram is used as a character selector to provide better accuracy results. Based on the results of research conducted, the accuracy of Naïve Bayes results is 72.00%, then Naïve Bayes with n-gram selection accuracy is N-gram = 2, 72.00% accuracy results, n-gram = 3, 75.00% accuracy results, and n-gram = 4 accuracy results 74.50%. In this study, carried out 10 times the experiment to measure the increased accuracy of the addition of n grams. Thus concluding that the application of the n-gram character can increase the accuracy of the Naïve Bayes algorithm.

The oracle bone character (OBC) from ancient China is the most famous ancient writing systems around the world. Identifying and deciphering OBCs is one of the most important topics in oracle bone study. In research, one of the challenges is that the literature review usually leads to a huge cost of time and manpower. Therefore, the digitazation of OBC literature through the automatic recognition is the inevitable trend of future development. However, the OBCs in the literature are usually writing characters while the database of handwriting OBC has not yet been presented. In this paper, we establish a handwriting oracle bone character database called HWOBC, containing 83,245 character-level samples which are grouped into 3881-character categories. We also present the performance of several baseline DCNN-based methods, in which Melnyk-Net exhibits the best accuracy of 97.64%. It is anticipated that the publication of this database will facilitate the development of OBC research.

Under the context of digital new media, the paper deals with the composition and dissemination of Chinese character images from three perspectives: the structure and communication of the character images, the presentation of character images and the modes of communication. Due to the computer technologies, Chinese characters could be presented on the screen with both pictures and sounds and become more intuitive and realistic. What’s more, the light effects and dynamic technique feature prominent in forming visual images of Chinese characters. In a word, the computer technologies help to realize the multi-dimensional and dynamic presentation of Chinese characters.

The purpose of this research is to know the relationship between education, value, culture and the character of learning outcomes after online learning. The research methods used are correlational. The population taken is the entire student of the Mathematics Education Study Program IKIP Siliwangi 2018 which takes courses of Linear Program. Sample research was taken with the Purposive Sampling technique as many as 39 students. The instrument used is the test instrument of the study results of linear courses and non-test instruments to view the education response value, culture and character (EVCC) with a scale Likert as many as 30 statements. Stages of data analysis through test normality, correlation analysis, simple regression analysis and coefficient of determination. The results showed that education, value, culture and character significantly influenced the student mathematics achievement of the Linear Program, with its contribution of 13.6%, while the remaining student learning outcomes were influenced by other factors during online.

The scope of the school environment includes the physical, mental, and social environment. These three scopes are related to one another in shaping the character of students. A healthy, good, and friendly school environment is an ideal condition for students' learning process in school. Education should be used as an effective means of forming attitudes and concerns for the environment, through intensive education. It is possible to improve the quality of students’ positive attitudes and behaviours towards the environment. The problem in this study is how to shape the character and attitudes of students' concern for the school environment and how to overcome existing obstacles. This study aims to understand and apply the green school movement to the formation of environmental care characters from an early age and inspire principals as school managers to create an environmentally and friendly school as school culture in SMP Negeri (State Junior High School) 2 Adiluwih. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using document study and observation to collect the data. The results of this study are the school has efforts in implementing go green school program activities and integrating environmental materials in all subjects and have been included in each lesson plan and syllabus, self-development in daily activities. After implementing these program activities, students can care more about their environment. These program activities have contributed to making the SMP Negeri 2 Adiluwih win a national Adiwiyata (Green School) Award.

The classical convolutional neural network has been widely used for handwritten digit character recognition with high accuracy. However, due to its small convolutional layer, fixed size of convolution kernel and few extracted features, the recognition accuracy of complex handwritten characters are reduced. In this paper, an improved deep convolutional neural network model is proposed, which can allocate different convolution kernels according to the different information amount in the handwritten character image area for convolution, so as to better extract the effective information of the image and is more suitable for complex handwritten character recognition applications. Experiments show that the recognition rate can be higher.

Here, we present the study of the ferroelectricity in the ABF4 materials with A = (Sr, Ba) and B = (Mg, Zn). This theoretical study was performed based-on first-principles calculations within the density-functional theory, DFT, formalism. We found that the geometric ferroelectricity in ABF4 layered compounds can be tuned by changing the A-site with Sr and Ba cations and B-sites with Mg and Zn atoms. Additionally, we studied the stability of the phases as a function of the A and B cations’ occupation preference. We observed a layer-by-layer disposition, as a ground state, when the A-site has different compositions of Sr/Ba.

The character recognition game Khalid ibn al-Walid is an interactive Drama game application with the perspective of First Person Shooter introducing a hero in Islam named Khalid ibn al-Walid. To make the game interesting, the Non-Playable Character must be given artificial intelligence so that it can behave intelligently and make the game atmosphere more lively. One of the simple artificial intelligence that is applied in NPC games is Finite State Machine (FSM). In this game, FSM is applied to the enemy behavior of the character Khalid ibn al-Walid. The trial results show that NPC can behave independently and smartly in Search Player, Move To Player, Wait to Attack and Attack.

The automatic evaluation of Chinese character writing quality has a wide application prospect. Most of the existing evaluation methods of Chinese character writing quality are based on radical segmentation and feature judgment, which require the high accuracy of Chinese character segmentation. However, there are many problems in the real handwriting, such as continuous writing, uneven strength of writing, personalized writing style and so on, which lead to the difficulty of segmentation in the ordinary handwriting. To solve the above problems, we propose an effective method based on image texture where the uniformity of writing lines and writing style is taken as an effective criterion. In our method, Gabor transform is used to extract the image features of writing samples, and finally the statistical learning method of support vector machine is used to effectively evaluate the writing quality. Experiments on multiple real datasets including CHAED show that our method is effective and accurate. The advantage of this method is that it does not need to segment fonts, and the cost of global feature extraction is small.

The purpose of this study is to find a model for developing learning innovations and MiC teaching materials to strengthen the character of Sahabat Bumi. This study uses a quasi-experimental design. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Kudus Regency, Central Java Province. The study population was students of class X MAN 1 Kudus Regency. The research sample of 2 classes, taken by cluster-random-sampling technique. Experimental class students were taught using a PBL model with a MiC nuance, while control class students were taught using an expository model. Data were collected using tests, then analyzed descriptively and inferential statistics, using t-tests (independent samples t-test). The results showed (1) learning PBL nuanced MiC in the culture of the Holy community which can improve the ability of the amtematic representation and character of earth friends and (2) various forms of MiC in community culture related to mathematical concepts, so that it can be integrated in mathematics learning at the MA level

Good character values need to be possessed by students at the University. Based on the Regulation of Rector, No. 19 Year 2016, UNNES has 12 Ethics, namely: science for truth, academic freedom, harmony, responsibility, honesty, justice, caring, exemplary, discipline, politeness, non-discrimination, and mutual respect. China is known to have a good character education from elementary school to university level. So, we need a collaboration work with a university in China, namely: Guangxi Normal University (GXNU). Partner Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Guo Yuanbing. The problem: What character values are integrated into the learning process of mathematics at GXNU? The method of research: Qualitative approach. The research subjects of Local Students of GXNU were selected. The main activities in GXNU: Observation, interviews, triangulation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in GXNU, guided by Prof. Dr. Guo Yuanbing. The results (1) The character values that found and grown in GXNU were as follows: Prosperity, Democracy, Civility, Harmony, Freedom, Equality, Justice, Rule of Law, Patriotism, Dedication, Integrity, and Friendship. (2) Lecturer of Mathematics Education of GXNU was given the freedom to apply some or all of the values of character into teaching and learning activities; Character values were not explicitly added into the Lesson Plan of a Math lecturer in GXNU; Violations of the application of character values were left entirely to the lecturer concerned with the support of the institution.

It was indicated from the results of a preliminary study in Elementary School that textbooks used have not been compiled in the form of themes that are in accordance with the subject matter. The textbooks have also not referred to one of the learning models. They have not involved students’ active learning and have not been able to develop students’ character. This research aimed to develop a textbook using active learning strategy of the learning tournament type with character building for elementary school students. The research used 4D model of Thiagarajan with the steps; define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data were collected using observation sheets, interview guides, questionnaires, character assessment sheet, and test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The result of the validity test showed that the textbook developed was valid. The result of the practicality test also showed that the textbook was practical to be used in learning. The result of effectiveness test showed that the textbook was effectively helped to improve student’ competence in the knowledge and character domain. The effectiveness of the textbook was based on the result of the effect size of the competence of students’ knowledge which was included in a large category and most of the students’ characters were in a good category.

The ecological theory of the environment plays an important role in the development and characterization of an individual’s character. This theory will show the process of development that develops between the individual and the environment. The character of an individual will shape from the influence of the surrounding environment such as family, friends, school, teachers, workplace and so on. This paper will discuss the integration of environmental ecological theory into aspects of Islamic and western thought in the face of the revolutionary 4.0 era. The ecological theory of the environment will be based on Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory as well as Ibn Khaldun’s ecological theory. Research on three aspects of the activity, role model, and practice will be detailed. This method of study uses documentary analysis based on Ibn Khaldun’s book of scripture and Bronfenbrenner’s writings. As a result of this study, it is found that these three aspects are in line with human needs. Therefore, this study is seen as contributing to the theory and can serve as a new reference and concept to society. Implications of this study apply the theory of the environment not only in education but in all fields.

Signatures are a marker or identity that exists in a document. Signatures have an important role in verifying and legalizing documents. The purpose of this study is to apply image processing techniques to signatures and to identify patterns of signature images based on entropy values. The stages of the research include taking respondents’ data in the form of analog image signatures, then the acquisition of digital signature images by scanning the signatures. The next step is to convert digital hand images from true color to binary. The last step is calculating the entropy value, recording the entropy value calculation time using Matlab software and looking at the distribution of entropy values from each signature image. From this method, the result of 50 data of signatures taken from students of the Islamic University of Madura (UIM) of the FMIPA, there are 11 to 1st type, 1 to 2nd type, 13 to 3th type, 4 to 4th type, 9 to 5th type, 3 to 8th type, 7 to 9th type and 2 to 11th type.

Education world through learning in the classroom has a huge influence in building the values of student characters. Mathematics as a subject is given at all levels of education and has more time allocated each week than other subject has the opportunity to build student character value. This study aims to develop mathematics student worksheets and their effectiveness in the context of student character. This type of research is research with design and development. This research consists of three stages, namely Self Evaluation, Prototyping, and Field Test. The initial step of the research is to use various sources in the field and literature review. Product design is done by preparing student worksheets and student character observation sheets. Products that have been designed are then developed by means of judgment, trials and revisions. From the results of the development then a student worksheets hypothetical product is obtained and will be tested for its effectiveness. Effectiveness testing is carried out in the use of trial activities through the implementation of student worksheets hypothetical product. The results showed that the hypothetical student worksheets was effective in establishing honest, maos, mamaos, tanginas, someah, sauyunan, and discipline characters.

This study aimed to describe the strengthening of student character by learning Gurindam 12 through Role Playing assisted by Audio Visual. The research method was carried out with the Borg and Gall theory on research and development (R and D), this researcher conducted pre-tests and post-tests to find out whether local wisdom learning of Gurindam 12 through Role Playing assisted by Audio Visual can improve noble character in students. The sample in this study were prospective students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program teachers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UMRAH. The result is that the Gurindam 12 through Role Playing assisted by Audio Visual makes learning more active and more enjoyable and can increase the values of positive characters in students including helping and cooperating with each other, and socially sensitive.

There is a lot of data that does not have a pattern and unbalanced that is difficult to classify, such as the total population of each country in the world is very varied especially when compared with the number of refugees from each of these countries, China and India numbered more than 2 billion people but the number of refugees is only 0, 01%, while Syria around 70% of the 18 million more residents are refugees. By using the K-Means algorithm, we can group countries that have similar characteristics of population and number of refugees, the average percentage of refugees to the population in each cluster is the character of the cluster. The methodology used in this study are: measures the distance of the data using the Euclidean distance formula, runs the K-Means algorithm, calculate the percentage value of each cluster and find conclusions from the characteristics of the clusters formed. We found how machine learning made a pattern of data without political and social issues, the result is K-Means describing machine learning can grouped every country in cluster that make sense.

The study aims to measure the improvement of Indonesian golden generation character after implementation of education for sustainable development (ESD). The data were collected by using the character self-assessment that given to senior high school students in nine provinces spread in the western, central and eastern regions of Indonesia. The instrument was adapted from character education indicators by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and the combination of sustainable development learning indicators. The result shows that mostly the character aspects of Indonesian golden generation can be enhanced. ESD character model can develop several characters of students but still need more time to enhance student’s critical attitude and creativity. Besides, it can inferred that implementation of ESD in science education, biology, physics, and chemistry subject can be recommended by using several learning models, of which one of them is ESD character model.

The instilling of character values is one of the priorities in early childhood education which can be obtained from science learning. The aspect of science learning, in its essence, is to acquaint children to the natural environment directly or through the other media. This study has a purpose to discover the impact of science learning with a constructivist approach towards the construction of early childhood’s character. This is experimental research with pre-test and post-test. 15 early childhood students of TK Adzkia II, Tabing, Padang are involved in data collection with total sampling and analyzed with the t-test method. It is found that there has been an influence of learning science towards the building of independent, careful and environmental caring characters for early childhood. The result shows that the average score of mastery of students’ character values is higher after being given science learning with a constructivist approach.

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to find out how the character values of students in learning use HOTS questions with PBL models. Data collection methods used were observation, written tests, and interviews. The focus of this research is the value of the character of curiosity, hard work, thorough, and creative. The results showed that the dominant character values that emerged were curiosity and hard work, which was due to the lack of HOTS type questions making students often ask the teacher how to solve these problems. Then because of the dominant curiosity, students work on the problem with hard work. While the character values the dominant does not appear are thorough and creative characters, it happens because of the lack of student training in working on various math problems making students only focus on what has been taught in the classroom without developing their thinking.

The physics paradigm includes symmetry, optimization and unification is a unity of human life. The paradigm contributes to the development of physics education, so it has a role in providing a frame of reference in the development of good character students. Three aspects of physics education that affect human nature include (a) habits and explorative abilities of the surrounding natural environment; (b) communication and mathematical representation in step for problem solving; and (c) habit in developing problem-solving using observation and experiment tools as well as manual or digital information processing. By linking these three aspects through implementation to the learning process in the classroom and based on honesty and goodwill of individuals, students can build products to think towards good character. Rational considerations by physics thinking, always trying to be grateful and patient in every step of life by students, have a role in personal development with noble character.

The 2013 curriculum was revised with the aim of improving character education and mastery of 21st century skills. One of the skills needed in the 21st century is critical and creative. To generate student creativity, the application of the right model must be carried out. Creative Problem Solving is a model that can increase student creativity, because through this model, students are invited to solve problems through systematic steps. Learning in the classroom should be able to instill character that has an important influence on solving the nation’s problems today. One of the problems of the nation today is corruption. Anti-corruption attitudes need to be given to Indonesian children so that Indonesia in the future become a corruption-freecountry. Type of research is research and development. In this paper specifically discusses the quality of teaching materials developed. Quantitative description is data analysis that used. The results of this study are: 1) the teaching material produced has very valid category, 2) the teaching materials produced has a very practical category.

Early Childhood Period is the most critical period in human life development. All aspects owned such as cognitive, social-emotional, physical-motoric, language, moral and religious values are growing rapidly. The characteristics of children at this time are identification and imitation. For this reason, it needs a good exemplary from the environment through proper education. Habits of character value need to be learned as early as possible through learning. However, in today’s age, early childhood improves the exemplary crisis. Therefore, this study aims to improve character values by applying the “Bermain ASYIK” Model. By applying this model, character values in early childhood will increase. The population in this study were children aged 5-6 years in El-Kasysyaf PAUD South Bekasi. The study was conducted in July- November 2016. The research method used was classroom action research. This method has four stages, 1) Planning stage, 2) Implementation stage, 3) Observation stage and 4) Reflection stage. The implementation of this activity was carried out in three cycles. The results of study indicated by increase character value daily living behavior of children. Percentage of character value generated by the pre cycle was 20%, while percentage from the cycle I was 23%, 28% from cycle II and 29% from cycle III.

This study aims to develop mathematics teaching materials based on a project- based learning model, that help improve students’ Higher-Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) and character. This type of research is developmental research that adheres to the ADDIE development model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were 25 preservice teachers enrolled at the basic mathematics course in one of university in Aceh, Indonesia. The study results showed that the teaching materials that had been developed were appropriate to use in learning and the feasibility of content, design, and language met the valid criteria. Students’ responses to the teaching materials were very good to support and accomplish lectures. The teaching materials tested were able to improve students’ HOTS, based on the pre-test results with an average score of 67 and the post-test results with an average score of 88. Besides, the average score of student character increased by 20% in the good category and by 16.67% in the very good category. To sum up, the mathematics teaching materials based on the project-based learning model are considered valid, practical, and effective.

In the process of learning mathematics, problem-solving activities is an essential part. Several strategies can be used in this activity including intelligent guessing and testing. This strategy has characteristics that are very potential to develop the character of student as hard work. It is a way for success. In solving the problem, a participant can complete the task in the allotted time, using all abilities or power to achieve goals and trying to find various alternative solutions when faced with obstacles. These activities show the indicator of hard work. The more often students practice using this strategy, the more trained students in developing of hard-work character themselves.
