Abstract

The temperature-dependence of excited-state proton transfer in water electrolyte solutions and water-methanol solutions was studied using 8-Hydroxypyrene-1,3,6-trisulfonate trisodium salt as photoacid. The value of proton-transfer rate constant in pure water solution was almost independent of temperature at high temperatures, while its dependence increased with decrease in temperature, at low temperatures.
