H.H. Ahmad has written 'Hamas, from Religious Salvation to Political Transformation: The Rise of Palestinian Society,' which deals with the Islamic movements in Palestine up to the Hebron massacre. Ziad Abu-Amr wrote 'Islamic Fundamentalism in the West Bank and Gaza: Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Jihad,' which situates Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in the wider context of the Islamic movement. Ahmad Rashad's 'Hamas: Palestinian Politics with an Islamic Hue' is a concise and thoughtful account of the Islamic movement. Unlike Ahmad and Abu-Amr, Rashad does not support the Western view that the Islamic movement represents a new fundamentalist threat.
