The magnesium-zinc ferrite (Mg 1− x Zn x Fe 2 O 4 ) nanofibers (with x  = 0, 0.05, 0.10, and 0.15) were successfully prepared by the electrospinning technique followed by calcinations at temperature 550 °C. The structural, morphological, optical properties and magnetic characterization of the prepared nanofibers were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), DRS and VSM. The XRD pattern has been analyzed employing Rietveld technique and revealed the diffraction peaks are mainly assigned to the cubic structure of the MgFe 2 O 4 phase. The SEM images exhibit fabrication of the smooth and free of beads nanofibers with average diameter ranged from 180 ± 20 to 100 ± 20 nm. The absorption spectra and optical band gap were estimated by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). DRS study showed an increase in the band gap energy of MgFe 2 O 4 nanofibers upon increase in doping concentration. Magnetic properties of the pure MgFe 2 O 4 and 10% Zn-doped MgFe 2 O 4 nanofibers were characterized by using VSM magnetometer. • Cu x Co 3-x O 4 fibers (CCOFs) were successfully fabricated by the simple electrospinning technique, followed by calcinations. • Phase evolution using XRD technique confirms the fabrication of Cu 0. 72 Co 2.28 O 4 / CuO composite structure. • The produced fibers were further characterized using SEM, DRS, FT-IR and VSM measurements. In this paper, Cu x Co 3-x O 4 fibers (CCOFs) were successfully fabricated by the electrospinning of PVP/Co(CH 3 COO) 2 -Cu(CH 3 CO 2) 2 composite solution, followed by calcinations. The CCOFs samples were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM).The structural analysis of the obtained samples, verified by XRD analysis indicates the growth of well-crystalline Cu 0. 72 Co 2.28 O 4 with a cubic spinel structure. Also, typical X-ray diffraction pattern shows formation of the second tenorite phase of CuO, which substantially influenced the structural, morphology, chemical, optical, and magnetic properties of the CCOFs.
