- Abstract
Objective To investigate satisfaction and treatment confidence of the infertility patientswho had received in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET) treatment in one reproductive medicine department of Yunnan Province for providing a basis in terms of increasing efficient of service process, improving service quality and patient satisfaction of the assisted reproductive services. Methods A total of 161 female patients were interviewed,with an average age of 33 years and the average age of their husbands was 35 years. 113 patients (70.2%) were satisfied with the overall evaluation of the department,but the evaluation of service links such as registration and payment was relatively low,and the satisfaction score was 5.54. The most concernedproblem of patients is about the fewer number of occytes retrieved, accounting for 34.8% , followed by the number of high-quality embryos,accounting for 30.4%. Their corre sponding average score of confidence in treatment was 4.95 and 4.78 respectively. The logistic regression results showed that women with in high school or a technical secondary school education (OR=0.372,95%CI:0.159-0.870) and Patients who have experienced problems in all aspects of treatment(OR=2.520,95%CI:1.117-5.687) are more likely to affect their satisfaction. The average waiting time of patients in all aspects of the visit is basically within the acceptable range. The low success rate of transplantation is the primary reason why patients (37.9%) choose to go to other hospitals for treatment. Conclusion During the patients visiting in the hospital,they were satisfied with the overall quality of service in all aspects of the reproductive medicine department, however,the registration fee, the treatment cards processing and outpatient service still need to be improved. The medical staff should help the problems that occur during the patient's visit promptly and effectively, and reduce the risk of patients' loss. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
