Abstract

The article discusses the practice guidelines which review the factors influencing the voriconazole (VRCZ) pharmacokinetic profile conducted by the Japanese Society of Chemotherapy and the Japanese Society of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (JSTDM). It examines the data that support exposure-toxicity and exposure-effect relationships that cause difficulty for therapeutic drug monitoring for VRCZ. It also mentions indications for VRCZ therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM).

Abstract

The article discusses the guidelines for drug monitoring (TDM) of vancomycin (VCM) and the reviews for TDM by Japanese Society of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (JSTDM) and Japanese Society of Chemotherapy (JSC). It says that the guidelines for TDM of VCM were reviewed by the practice guidelines committee. It states that the TDM and VCM dosing recommendations were not stated in the guidelines for patients undergoing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and with renal function deterioration.
