The article presents a research on how to improve the livestock sector in Kerala, India. It highlights the decline of the cattle population in Kerala, exploring the challenges and opportunities related to the livestock industry. It offers some suggestions to improve the sector, including development of local feeding standards, consideration of precision feeding and total mixed ration concept, and use of agricultural or industrial byproducts.
