By taking the ultra-spinning limit as a simple solution-generating trick, a novel class of ultra-spinning charged black hole solutions has been constructed from Chow's rotating charged black hole with two equal-charge parameters in six-dimensional $\mathcal{N} = 4$ gauged supergravity theory. We investigate their thermodynamical properties and then demonstrate that all thermodynamical quantities completely obey both the differential first law and the Bekenstein-Smarr mass formula. For the six-dimensional ultra-spinning Chow's black hole with only one rotation parameter, we show that it does not always obey the reverse isoperimetric inequality, thus it can be either sub-entropic or super-entropic, depending upon the ranges of the mass parameter and especially the charge parameter. This property is obviously different from that of the six-dimensional singly-rotating Kerr-AdS super-entropic black hole, which always strictly violates the RII. For the six-dimensional doubly-rotating Chow's black hole but ultra-spinning only along one spatial axis, we point out that it may also obey or violate the RII, and can be either super-entropic or sub-entropic in general., 22 pages, 8 figures, 3 tables, match the published version of JHEP

The entropy of 1/16-th BPS AdS5 black holes can be microscopically accounted for by the superconformal index of the $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory. One way to compute this is through a Cardy-like limit of a formula for the index obtained in [1] using the “S-transformation” of the elliptic Γ function. In this paper, we derive more general SL(3, ℤ) modular properties of the elliptic Γ function. We then use these properties to obtain a three integer parameter family of generalized Cardy-like limits of the $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 superconformal index. From these limits, we obtain entropy formulae that have a similar form as that of the original AdS5 black hole, up to an overall rescaling of the entropy. We interpret this both on the field theory and the gravitational side. Finally, we comment on how our work suggests a generalization of the Farey tail to four dimensions.

We construct dynamical black hole solutions to Einstein Equations in presence of matter in the large D limit. The matter stress tensors that we consider are weak in the sense that they source asymptotic spacetimes with internal curvatures of the order of $$ \mathcal{O} $$ O (D0). Apart from this, we work with a generic stress tensor demanding only that the stress tensor satisfies the conservation equations. The black hole solutions are obtained in terms of the dual non-gravitational picture of membranes propagating in spacetimes equivalent to the asymptotes of the black holes. We obtain the metric solutions to the second sub-leading order in 1/D. We also obtain the equations governing the dual membranes up to the first sub-leading order in 1/D.

Recent studies have shown that minimal couplings for massive spinning particles, which in the classical limit reproduce the leading PM Kerr black hole dynamics, leads to an Eikonal S-matrix exhibiting spin-entanglement suppression. In this paper we trace this phenomenon to the suppression of spin-flipping components in the S-matrix, known to be the hallmark of minimal coupling in the ultra-relativistic limit. We propose a novel approach of uncovering Stokes phenomenon exhibited by the holomorphic blocks of $\mathbb{CP}^1$ model by considering it as a specific decoupling limit of SQED$_2$ model. This approach involves using a $\mathbb{Z}_3$ symmetry that leaves the supersymmetric parameter space of SQED$_2$ model invariant to transform a pair of SQED$_2$ holomorphic blocks to get two new pairs of blocks. The original pair obtained by solving the line operator identities of the SQED$_2$ model and the two new transformed pairs turn out to be related by Stokes-like matrices. These three pairs of holomorphic blocks can be reduced to the known triplet of $\mathbb{CP}^1$ blocks in a particular decoupling limit where two of the chiral multiplets in the SQED$_2$ model are made infinitely massive. This reduction then correctly reproduces the Stokes regions and matrices of the $\mathbb{CP}^1$ blocks. We construct the relevant function space, which is significantly constrained due to the extended Steinmann relations, up to weight 13 in coproduct form, and up to weight 12 as an explicit polylogarithmic representation. Expanding the latter in the collinear boundary of the DS limit, and using the Pentagon Operator Product Expansion, we compute the non-divergent coefficient of a certain component of the Next-to-Maximally-Helicity-Violating amplitude through weight 12 and eight loops. In the context of the Standard Model effective field theory we derive direct and indirect bounds on chromodipole operators involving the bottom and charm quark. We find that the experimental upper limit on the neutron electric dipole moment puts severe constraints on the imaginary parts of the Wilson coefficients of both chromodipole operators. The magnitudes of the Wilson coefficients are instead only weakly constrained by dijet searches and Z-boson production in association with bottom-quark jets. Different frameworks exist to describe the flat-space limit of AdS/CFT, include momentum space, Mellin space, coordinate space, and partial-wave expansion. We explain the origin of momentum space as the smearing kernel in Poincare AdS, while the origin of latter three is the smearing kernel in global AdS. In Mellin space, we find a Mellin formula that unifies massless and massive flat-space limit, which can be transformed to coordinate space and partial-wave expansion. Furthermore, we also manage to transform momentum space to smearing kernel in global AdS, connecting all existed frameworks. We study general properties of the mapping between 5$d$ and 4$d$ superconformal field theories (SCFTs) under both twisted circle compactification and tuning of local relevant deformation and CB moduli. After elucidating in generality when a 5$d$ SCFT reduces to a 4$d$ one, we identify nearly all $\mathcal{N}=1$ 5$d$ SCFT parents of rank-2 4$d$ $\mathcal{N}=2$ SCFTs. We then use this result to map out the mass deformation trajectories among the rank-2 theories in 4$d$. This can be done by first understanding the mass deformations of the 5$d$ $\mathcal{N}=1$ SCFTs and then map them to 4$d$. The former task can be easily achieved by exploiting the fact that the 5$d$ parent theories can be obtained as the strong coupling limit of Lagrangian theories, and the latter by understanding the behavior under compactification. Finally we identify a set of general criteria that 4$d$ moduli spaces of vacua have to satisfy when the corresponding SCFTs are related by mass deformations and check that all our RG-flows satisfy them. We study the stability and spectrum of BPS states in ${\cal N}=2$ supergravity. We find evidence, and prove for a large class of cases, that BPS stability exhibits a certain filtration which is partially independent of the value of the gauge couplings. Specifically, for any perturbative value of any gauge coupling $g \ll 1$, a BPS state can only decay to some constituents if those constituents do not become infinitely heavier than it in the vanishing coupling limit $g \rightarrow 0$. This stability filtration can be mathematically formulated in terms of the monodromy weight filtration of the limiting mixed Hodge structure associated to the vanishing coupling limit. We study various implications of the result for the Swampland program which aims to understand such weak-coupling limits, specifically regarding the nature and presence of an infinite tower of light charged BPS states., Comment: 53 pages

We present the analytic formula for the Energy-Energy Correlation (EEC) in electron-positron annihilation computed in perturbative QCD to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) in the back-to-back limit. In particular, we consider the EEC arising from the annihilation of an electron-positron pair into a virtual photon as well as a Higgs boson and their subsequent inclusive decay into hadrons. Our computation is based on a factorization theorem of the EEC formulated within Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) for the back-to-back limit. We obtain the last missing ingredient for our computation - the jet function - from a recent calculation of the transverse-momentum dependent fragmentation function (TMDFF) at N$^3$LO. We combine the newly obtained N$^3$LO jet function with the well known hard and soft function to predict the EEC in the back-to-back limit. The leading transcendental contribution of our analytic formula agrees with previously obtained results in $\mathcal{N} = 4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. We obtain the $N=2$ Mellin moment of the bulk region of the EEC using momentum sum rules. Finally, we obtain the first resummation of the EEC in the back-to-back limit at N$^3$LL$^\prime$ accuracy, resulting in a factor of $\sim 4$ reduction of uncertainties in the peak region compared to N$^3$LL predictions., Comment: 32 pages, many wonderful figures, 3 appendices, 7 ancillary files. v2: Journal version. There is an ambiguity in choosing field-strength renormalization factors in the $ \overline{\text{MS}} $ scheme starting from the 3-loop order in perturbation theory. More concerning, trivially choosing Hermitian factors has been shown to produce divergent renormalization group functions, which are commonly understood to be finite quantities. We demonstrate that the divergences of the RG functions are such that they vanish in the RG equation due to the Ward identity associated with the flavor symmetry. It turns out that any such divergences can be removed using the renormalization ambiguity and that the use of the flavor-improved $ \beta $-function is preferred. We write down the most general membrane equations dual to black holes for a general class of gravity theories, up to sub-leading order in $1/D$ in large $D$ limit. We derive a "minimal" entropy current which satisfies a local form of second law from these membrane equations. We find that consistency with second law requires the membrane equations to satisfy certain constraints. We find additional constraints on the membrane equations from the existence of membrane solutions dual to stationary black holes. Finally we observe a tension between second law and matching with Wald entropy for dual stationary black hole configurations, for the minimal entropy current. We consider $U(N)$ $\mathcal N=4$ super Yang-Mills theory and discuss how to extract the strong coupling limit of non-planar corrections to observables involving the $\frac{1}{2}$-BPS Wilson loop. Our approach is based on a suitable saddle point treatment of the Eynard-Orantin topological recursion in the Gaussian matrix model. Working directly at strong coupling we avoid the usual procedure of first computing observables at finite planar coupling $\lambda$, order by order in $1/N$, and then taking the $\lambda\gg 1$ limit. In the proposed approach, matrix model multi-point resolvents take a simplified form and some structures of the genus expansion, hardly visible at low order, may be identified and rigorously proved. As a sample application, we consider the expectation value of multiple coincident circular supersymmetric Wilson loops as well as their correlator with single trace chiral operators. For these quantities we provide novel results about the structure of their genus expansion at large tension, generalising recent results in arXiv:2011.02885., Comment: 41 pages

We compute the O(αs) corrections to the Wilson coefficients of the dimension five operators in inclusive semileptonic B decays in the limit of a massless final quark. Our calculation agrees with reparametrization invariance and with previous results for the total width and improves the constraints on the shape functions that enter those decays.

We follow up on our discussion of the exact quark-mass dependence of the Higgs-gluon form factor at three loops in QCD (arXiv:2001.03008) and turn our attention to the closely related Higgs-photon form factor. Similarly to our previous work, we intend to examine the form factor for the decay of a Higgs-boson with variable mass into two photons at the three-loop level in QCD. The set of master integrals is known numerically due to prior work on the Higgs-gluon form factor and is exploited to obtain expansions around the threshold as well as in the high-energy limit. This instability can be cured by summing the leading-logarithmic contributions in $ \hat{s}/{p}_t^2 $ to all orders in ��$_{s}$. As expected though, leading logarithmic accuracy is insufficient to guarantee a suitable description in regions of phase space away from the high energy limit.We present (i) the first calculation of all partonic channels contributing at next-to-leading logarithmic order in W-boson production in association with at least two jets, and (ii) bin-by-bin matching to next-to-leading fixed-order accuracy. There are well-known criteria on the potential and field-space geometry for determining if slow-roll, slow-turn, multi-field inflation is possible. However, even though it has been a topic of much recent interest, slow-roll, rapid-turn inflation only has such criteria in the restriction to two fields. In this work, we generalize the two-field, rapid-turn inflationary attractor to an arbitrary number of fields. We quantify a limit, which we dub extreme turning, in which rapid-turn solutions may be found efficiently and develop methods to do so. In particular, simple results arise when the covariant Hessian of the potential has an eigenvector in close alignment with the gradient -- a situation we find to be common and we prove generic in two-field hyperbolic geometries. We verify our methods on several known rapid-turn models and search two type-IIA constructions for rapid-turn trajectories. For the first time, we are able to efficiently search for these solutions and even exclude slow-roll, rapid-turn inflation from one potential., 30 pages, 8 figures. v2: added missed references

We explicitly rewrite the path integral for the free or critical $O(N)$ (or $U(N)$) bosonic vector models in $d$ space-time dimensions as a path integral over fields (including massless high-spin fields) living on ($d+1$)-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. Inspired by de Mello Koch, Jevicki, Suzuki and Yoon and earlier work, we first rewrite the vector models in terms of bi-local fields, then expand these fields in eigenmodes of the conformal group, and finally map these eigenmodes to those of fields on anti-de Sitter space. Our results provide an explicit (non-local) action for a high-spin theory on anti-de Sitter space, which is presumably equivalent in the large $N$ limit to Vasiliev's classical high-spin gravity theory (with some specific gauge-fixing to a fixed background), but which can be used also for loop computations. We analyse near-extremal black brane configurations in asymptotically $\mathrm{AdS}_4$ spacetime with the temperature $T$, chemical potential $\mu$, and three-velocity $u^\nu$, varying slowly. We consider a low-temperature limit where the rate of variation is much slower than $\mu$, but much bigger than $T$. This limit is different from the one considered for conventional fluid-mechanics in which the rate of variation is much smaller than both $T$, $\mu$. We find that in our limit, as well, the Einstein-Maxwell equations can be solved in a systematic perturbative expansion. At first order, in the rate of variation, the resulting constitutive relations for the stress tensor and charge current are local in the boundary theory and can be easily calculated. At higher orders, we show that these relations become non-local in time but the perturbative expansion is still valid. We find that there are four linearised modes in this limit; these are similar to the hydrodynamic modes found in conventional fluid mechanics with the same dispersion relations. We have studied scattering of a probe particle by a four dimensional AdS-Schwarzschild black hole at large impact factor. Our analysis is consistent perturbatively to leading order in the AdS radius and black hole mass parameter. Next we define a proper "soft limit" of the radiation and extract out the "soft factor" from it. We consider Chern-Simons theory coupled to massive fundamental matter in three spacetime dimensions at finite temperature, in the large $N$ limit. We compute several thermal correlators in this theory for both fermionic and bosonic matter separately. The results are computed in the large $N$ 't Hooft limit but for arbitrary values of the 't Hooft coupling. Furthermore, we generalize the computations of the four-point function of fundamental scalars in the bosonic theory to finite temperature. As a consistency check, we see that the results obtained here agree with the existing previous results in different limiting cases. Moreover, we check that the results are consistent with the conjectured bosonization duality, providing an additional evidence of it., References added in v2

We construct a traversable wormhole from a charged AdS black hole by adding a coupling between the two boundary theories. We investigate how the effect of this deformation behaves in the extremal limit of the black hole. The black holes have finite entropy but an infinitely long throat in the extremal limit. We argue that it is still possible to make the throat traversable even in the extremal limit, but this requires either tuning the field for which we add a boundary coupling close to an instability threshold or scaling the strength of the coupling inversely with the temperature. In the latter case we show that the amount of information that can be sent through the wormhole scales with the entropy., 18 pages. In previous work, the two-loop five-point amplitudes in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory and $\mathcal{N}=8$ supergravity were computed at symbol level. In this paper, we compute the full functional form. The amplitudes are assembled and simplified using the analytic expressions of the two-loop pentagon integrals in the physical scattering region. We provide the explicit functional expressions, and a numerical reference point in the scattering region. We then calculate the multi-Regge limit of both amplitudes. The result is written in terms of an explicit transcendental function basis. For certain non-planar colour structures of the $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills amplitude, we perform an independent calculation based on the BFKL effective theory. We find perfect agreement. Based on an integrated luminosity of 1.61 fb$^{-1}$ $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the KLOE detector at DA$\Phi$NE, the Frascati $\phi$-factory, a search for the $P$- and $CP$-violating decay $\eta\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ has been performed. Radiative $\phi\to\eta\gamma$ decay is exploited to access the $\eta$ mesons. No signal is observed in the $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ invariant mass spectrum, and the upper limit on the branching fraction at 90\% confidence level is determined to be ${\mathcal B}(\eta\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}), Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures

We present the first complete calculation for the quark and gluon $N$-jettiness ($\Tau_N$) beam functions at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) in perturbative QCD. Our calculation is based on an expansion of the differential Higgs boson and Drell-Yan production cross sections about their collinear limit. This method allows us to employ cutting edge techniques for the computation of cross sections to extract the universal building blocks in question. The class of functions appearing in the matching coefficents for all channels includes iterated integrals with non-rational kernels, thus going beyond the one of harmonic polylogarithms. Our results are a key step in extending the $\Tau_N$ subtraction methods to N$^3$LO, and to resum $\Tau_N$ distributions at N$^3$LL$^\prime$ accuracy both for quark as well as for gluon initiated processes., 7 wonderful figures

We compute the quark and gluon transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) in perturbative QCD. Our calculation is based on an expansion of the differential Higgs boson and Drell-Yan production cross sections about their collinear limit. This method allows us to employ cutting edge techniques for the computation of cross sections to extract the universal building blocks in question. The corresponding perturbative matching kernels for all channels are expressed in terms of simple harmonic polylogarithms up to weight five. Monte Carlo simulation of gauge theories with a θ term is known to be extremely difficult due to the sign problem. Recently there has been major progress in solving this problem based on the idea of complexifying dynamical variables. Here we consider the complex Langevin method (CLM), which is a promising approach for its low computational cost. The drawback of this method, however, is the existence of a condition that has to be met in order for the results to be correct. As a first step, we apply the method to 2D U(1) gauge theory on a torus with a θ term, which can be solved analytically. We find that a naive implementation of the method fails because of the topological nature of the θ term. In order to circumvent this problem, we simulate the same theory on a punctured torus, which is equivalent to the original model in the infinite volume limit for |θ| < π. Rather surprisingly, we find that the CLM works and reproduces the exact results for a punctured torus even at large θ, where the link variables near the puncture become very far from being unitary.

Energy Correlators measure the energy deposited in multiple detectors as a function of the angles between the detectors. In this paper, we analytically compute the three particle correlator in the collinear limit in QCD for quark and gluon jets, and also in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. We find an intriguing duality between the integrals for the energy correlators and infrared finite Feynman parameter integrals, which maps the angles of the correlators to dual momentum variables. In $\mathcal{N}=4$, we use this duality to express our result as a rational sum of simple Feynman integrals (triangles and boxes). In QCD our result is expressed as a sum of the same transcendental functions, but with more complicated rational functions of cross ratio variables as coefficients. Our results represent the first analytic calculation of a three-prong jet substructure observable of phenomenological relevance for the LHC, revealing unexplored simplicity in the energy flow of QCD jets. We compute the anomalous dimension of the single current operator in the case of single and doubly deformed asymmetric $\lambda$-models with a general deformation matrix. Our method uses the underlying geometry of the coupling space, as well as an auxiliary group interaction, which completely decouples from the asymmetric model in a specific limit, consistent with the Renormalization Group flow. Our results are valid to all orders in the deformation parameters and leading order to the levels of the underlying current algebras. We specialize our general result to several models of particular interest that have been constructed in the literature and for which these anomalous dimensions were not known., Comment: 29 pages

We comment on the recently introduced Gauss-Bonnet gravity in four dimensions. We argue that it does not make sense to consider this theory to be defined by a set of $D\to 4$ solutions of the higher-dimensional Gauss-Bonnet gravity. We show that a well-defined $D\to 4$ limit of Gauss-Bonnet Gravity is obtained generalizing a method employed by Mann and Ross to obtain a limit of the Einstein gravity in $D=2$ dimensions. This is a scalar-tensor theory of the Horndeski type obtained by a dimensional reduction methods. By considering simple spacetimes beyond spherical symmetry (Taub-NUT spaces) we show that the naive limit of the higher-dimensional theory to four dimensions is not well defined and contrast the resultant metrics with the actual solutions of the new theory., Comment: 19 pages, no figures v2: added references

We consider the island formula for the entropy of subsets of the Hawking radiation in the adiabatic limit where the evaporation is very slow. We find a simple concrete `on-shell' formula for the generalized entropy which involves the image of the island out in the stream of radiation, the `island in the stream'. The resulting recipe for the entropy allows us to calculate the quantum information properties of the radiation and verify various constraints including the Araki-Lieb inequality and strong subadditivity., Comment: added clarifications and some minor corrections

In this study, we present continuum limit results for the unpolarized parton distribution function of the nucleon computed in lattice QCD. This study is the first continuum limit using the pseudo-PDF approach with Short Distance Factorization for factorizing lattice QCD calculable matrix elements. Our findings are also compared with the pertinent phenomenological determinations. Inter alia, we are employing the summation Generalized Eigenvalue Problem (sGEVP) technique in order to optimize our control over the excited state contamination which can be one of the most serious systematic errors in this type of calculations. A crucial novel ingredient of our analysis is the parameterization of systematic errors using Jacobi polynomials to characterize and remove both lattice spacing and higher twist contaminations, as well as the leading twist distribution. In this work we apply the lightcone bootstrap to a four-point function of scalars in two-dimensional conformal field theory. We include the entire Virasoro symmetry and consider non-rational theories with a gap in the spectrum from the vacuum and no conserved currents. For those theories, we compute the large dimension limit (h/c>>1) of the OPE spectral decomposition of the Virasoro vacuum. We then propose a kernel ansatz that generalizes the spectral decomposition beyond h/c>>1. Finally, we estimate the corrections to the OPE spectral densities from the inclusion of the lightest operator in the spectrum., 25 pages, 2 figures. Version match published version

We discuss the holographic description of Narain U(1)c× U(1)c conformal field theories, and their potential similarity to conventional weakly coupled gravitational theories in the bulk, in the sense that the effective IR bulk description includes “U(1) gravity” amended with additional light degrees of freedom. Starting from this picture, we formulate the hypothesis that in the large central charge limit the density of states of any Narain theory is bounded by below by the density of states of U(1) gravity. This immediately implies that the maximal value of the spectral gap for primary fields is ∆1 = c/(2πe). To test the self-consistency of this proposal, we study its implications using chiral lattice CFTs and CFTs based on quantum stabilizer codes. First we notice that the conjecture yields a new bound on quantum stabilizer codes, which is compatible with previously known bounds in the literature. We proceed to discuss the variance of the density of states, which for consistency must be vanishingly small in the large-c limit. We consider ensembles of code and chiral theories and show that in both cases the density variance is exponentially small in the central charge.

We build the bosonic η-deformed AdS4 × $$ \mathbbm{CP} $$ CP 3 background generated by an r-matrix that satisfies the modified classical Yang-Baxter equation. In a special limit we find that it is the gravity dual of the noncommutative ABJM theory.

We establish a framework for doing second order conformal perturbation theory for the symmetric orbifold SymN(T4) to all orders in N. This allows us to compute how 1/4-BPS states of the D1-D5 system on AdS3 × S3 × T4 are lifted as we move away from the orbifold point. As an application we confirm a previous observation that in the large N limit not all 1/4-BPS states that can be lifted do get lifted. This provides evidence that the supersymmetric index actually undercounts the number of 1/4-BPS states at a generic point in the moduli space.

In the vev insertion approximation (VIA) the spacetime dependent part of the mass matrix is treated as a perturbation. We calculate the source terms for baryogenesis expanding both the self-energy and propagator to first order in mass insertions, which gives the same results as the usual approach of calculating the self-energy at second order and using zeroth order propagators. This procedure shows explicitly the equivalence between including the mass in the free or in the interaction Lagrangian. The VIA source then originates from the same term in the kinetic equation as the semi-classical source, but at leading order in the derivative expansion (the expansion in diamond operators). On top, another type of derivative expansion is done, which we estimate to be valid for a bubble width larger than the inverse thermal width. A generalization of the scattering equations on $X(2,n)$, the configuration space of $n$ points on $\mathbb{CP}^1$, to higher dimensional projective spaces was recently introduced by Early, Guevara, Mizera, and one of the authors. One of the new features in $X(k,n)$ with $k>2$ is the presence of both regular and singular solutions in a soft limit. In this work we study soft limits in $X(3,7)$, $X(4,7)$, $X(3,8)$ and $X(5,8)$, find all singular solutions, and show their geometrical configurations. More explicitly, for $X(3,7)$ and $X(4,7)$ we find $180$ and $120$ singular solutions which when added to the known number of regular solutions both give rise to $1\, 272$ solutions as it is expected since $X(3,7)\sim X(4,7)$. Likewise, for $X(3,8)$ and $X(5,8)$ we find $59\, 640$ and $58\, 800$ singular solutions which when added to the regular solutions both give rise to $188\, 112$ solutions. The classical double copy relates exact solutions in biadjoint scalar, gauge and gravity theories. Recently, nonperturbative solutions have been found in biadjoint theory, which have been speculated to be related to the Wu-Yang monopole in gauge theory. We show that this seems not to be the case, by considering monopole solutions in the infinitely boosted (shockwave) limit. Furthermore, we show that the Wu-Yang monopole is instead related to the Taub-NUT solution, whose previously noted single copy is that of an abelian-like (Dirac) monopole. Our results demonstrate how abelian and non-abelian gauge theory objects can be associated with the same gravity object, and clarify a number of open questions concerning the scope of the classical double copy., Comment: 27 pages, 2 figures

We analyze the Ansatz of separability for Maxwell equations in generically spinning, five-dimensional Kerr-AdS black holes. We find that the parameter μ introduced in [1] can be interpreted as apparent singularities of the resulting radial and angular equations. Using isomonodromy deformations, we describe a non-linear symmetry of the system, under which μ is tied to the Painlevé VI transcendent. By translating the boundary conditions imposed on the solutions of the equations for quasinormal modes in terms of monodromy data, we find a procedure to fix μ and study the behavior of the quasinormal modes in the limit of fast spinning small black holes.

The consistency of the EFT of two interacting spin-2 fields is checked by applying forward limit positivity bounds on the scattering amplitudes to exclude the region of parameter space devoid of a standard UV completion. We focus on two classes of theories that have the highest possible EFT cutoff, namely those theories modelled on ghost-free interacting theories of a single massive spin-2 field. We find that the very existence of interactions between the spin-2 fields implies more stringent bounds on all the parameters of the EFT, even on the spin-2 self-interactions. This arises for two reasons. First, with every new field included in the low-energy EFT, comes the `knowledge' of an extra pole to be subtracted, hence strengthening the positivity bounds. Second, while adding new fields increases the number of free parameters from the new interactions, this is rapidly overcome by the increased number of positivity bounds for different possible scattering processes. We provide a general method to effectively compute differential and cumulative event-shape distributions to $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s)$ precision for massive quarks produced primarily at an $e^+e^-$ collider. In particular, we show that at this order, due to the screening of collinear singularities by the quark mass, for all event shapes linearly sensitive to soft dynamics, there appear only two distributions at threshold: a Dirac delta function and a plus distribution. Furthermore, we show that the coefficient of the latter is universal for any infra-red and collinear safe event shape, and provide an analytic expression for it. Likewise, we compute a general formula for the coefficient of the Dirac delta function, which depends only on the event-shape measurement function in the soft limit. Finally, we present an efficient algorithm to compute the differential and cumulative distributions, which does not rely on Monte Carlo methods, therefore achieving a priory arbitrary precision even in the extreme dijet region. We implement this algorithm in a numeric code and show that it agrees with analytic results on the distribution for 2-jettiness, heavy jet mass and a massive generalization of C-parameter., Comment: 37 pages + appendices, 21 figures; v2: journal version

We show nonrelativistic (NR) giant magnon dispersion relations by probing the torsional Newton Cartan (TNC) geometry with (semi)classical nonrelativistic rigidly rotating strings. We construct NR sigma models over $ R \times S^2 $ and consider two specific limiting cases those are of particular interest. Both of these limiting conditions give rise to what we identify as the \emph{small} momentum limit of the giant magnon dispersion relation in the dual SMT at \emph{strong} coupling. We further generalize our results in the presence of background NS-NS fluxes. We study the effect of electromagnetic interactions on the classical soft theorems on an asymptotically AdS background in 4 spacetime dimensions, in the limit of a small cosmological constant or equivalently a large AdS radius $l$. This identifies $1/l^2$ perturbative corrections to the known asymptotically flat spacetime leading and subleading soft factors. Our analysis is only valid to leading order in $1/l^2$. The leading soft factor can be expected to be universal and holds beyond tree level. The mutual information $I(A,B)$ of pairs of spatially separated regions satisfies, for any $d$-dimensional CFT, a set of structural physical properties such as positivity, monotonicity, clustering, or Poincar\'e invariance, among others. If one imposes the extra requirement that $I(A,B)$ is extensive as a function of its arguments (so that the tripartite information vanishes for any set of regions, $I_3(A,B,C)\equiv 0$), a closed geometric formula involving integrals over $\partial A$ and $\partial B$ can be obtained. We explore whether this "Extensive Mutual Information" model (EMI), which in fact describes a free fermion in $d=2$, may similarly correspond to an actual CFT in general dimensions. Using the long-distance behavior of $I_{\rm \scriptscriptstyle EMI}(A,B)$ we show that, if it did, it would necessarily include a free fermion, but also that additional operators would have to be present in the model. Remarkably, we find that $I_{\rm \scriptscriptstyle EMI}(A,B)$ for two arbitrarily boosted spheres in general $d$ exactly matches the result for the free fermion current conformal block $G^d_{\Delta=(d-1),J=1}$. On the other hand, a detailed analysis of the subleading contribution in the long-distance regime rules out the possibility that the EMI formula represents the mutual information of any actual CFT or even any limit of CFTs. These results make manifest the incompleteness of the set of known constraints required to describe the space of allowed entropy functions in QFT., Comment: 46 pages

We derive the planar limit of 2- and 3-point functions of single-trace chiral primary operators of ${\cal N}=2$ SQCD on $S^4$, to all orders in the 't Hooft coupling. In order to do so, we first obtain a combinatorial expression for the planar free energy of a hermitian matrix model with an infinite number of arbitrary single and double trace terms in the potential; this solution might have applications in many other contexts. We then use these results to evaluate the analogous planar correlation functions on ${\mathbb R}^4$. Specifically, we compute all the terms with a single value of the $\zeta$ function for a few planar 2- and 3-point functions, and conjecture general formulas for these terms for all 2- and 3-point functions on ${\mathbb R}^4$., Comment: 25 pages. v2 : added reference

We calculate the small-momentum expansion of vector, axial-vector, scalar, and pseudo-scalar heavy-quark current correlators in the large-$\beta_0$ limit of QCD, extending the analysis of Grozin and Sturm beyond the vector current. Our results are used to study the higher-order behaviour of dimensionless ratios of vector and pseudo-scalar moments used for the precise extraction of the strong coupling, $\alpha_s$, from relativistic quarkonium sum rules and lattice data, respectively. We show that these ratios benefit from a partial cancellation of the leading renormalon singularities. We exploit the $6D, {\cal N}=(1,0)$ and ${\cal N}=(1,1)$ harmonic superspace approaches to construct the full set of the maximally supersymmetric on-shell invariants of the canonical dimension ${\bf d=12}$ in $6D, \,{\cal N}=(1,1)$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. Both single- and double-trace invariants are derived. Only four single-trace and two double-trace invariants prove to be independent. The invariants constructed can provide the possible counterterms of ${\cal N}=(1,1)$ SYM theory at four-loop order, where the first double-trace divergences are expected to appear. We explicitly exhibit the gauge sector of all invariants in terms of ${\cal N} = (1, 0)$ gauge superfields and find the absence of ${\cal N}=(1,1)$ supercompletion of the $F^6$ term in the abelian limit., 0 + 31 pages, typos corrected, a footnote added, a reference updated; published version

We present an explicit matrix algebra quantization of the algebra of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms of the $n$-torus. That is, we approximate the corresponding classical Nambu brackets using $\mathfrak{sl}(N^{\lceil\frac{n}{2}\rceil},\mathbb{C})$-matrices equipped with the finite bracket given by the completely anti-symmetrized matrix product, such that the classical brackets are retrieved in the $N\rightarrow \infty$ limit. We then apply this approximation to the super $4$-brane in $9$ dimensions and give a regularized action in analogy with the matrix quantization of the supermembrane. This action exhibits a reduced gauge symmetry that we discuss from the viewpoint of $L_\infty$-algebras in a slight generalization to the construction of Lie $2$-algebras from Bagger--Lambert $3$-algebras., 36 pages.
