We propose a family of IR dualities for 3d N = 4 U(N) SQCD with Nf fundamental flavors and P Abelian hypermultiplets i.e. P hypermultiplets in the determinant representation of the gauge group. These theories are good in the Gaiotto-Witten sense if the number of fundamental flavors obeys the constraint Nf≥ 2N − 1 with generic P ≥ 1, and in contrast to the standard U(N) SQCD, they do not admit an ugly regime. The IR dualities in question arise in the window Nf = 2N + 1, 2N, 2N − 1, with P = 1 in the first case and generic P ≥ 1 for the others. The dualities involving Nf = 2N ± 1 are characterized by an IR enhancement of the Coulomb branch global symmetry on one side of the duality, such that the rank of the emergent global symmetry group is greater than the rank of the UV global symmetry. The dual description makes the rank of this emergent global symmetry manifest in the UV. In addition, one can read off the emergent global symmetry itself from the dual quiver. We show that these dualities are related by certain field theory operations and assemble themselves into a duality web. Finally, we show that the U(N) SQCDs with Nf≥ 2N − 1 and P Abelian hypers have Lagrangian 3d mirrors, and this allows one to explicitly write down the 3d mirror associated with a given IR dual pair. Quantum field theories with identical local dynamics can admit different choices of global structure, leading to different partition functions and spectra of extended operators. Such choices can be reformulated in terms of a topological field theory in one dimension higher, the symmetry TFT. In this paper we show that this TFT can be reconstructed from a careful analysis of the infrared Coulomb-like phases. In particular, the TFT matches between the UV and the IR. This provides a purely field theoretical counterpart of several recent results obtained via geometric engineering in various string/M/F theory setups for theories in four and five dimensions that we confirm and extend. In this paper, we define the momentum amplituhedron in the four-dimensional split-signature space of dual momenta. It encodes scattering amplitudes at tree level and loop integrands for N = 4 super Yang-Mills in the planar sector. In this description, every point in the tree-level geometry is specified by a null polygon. Using the null structure of this kinematic space, we find a geometry whose canonical differential form produces loop-amplitude integrands. Remarkably, at one loop it is a curvy version of a simple polytope, whose vertices are specified by maximal cuts of the amplitude. This construction allows us to find novel formulae for the one-loop integrands for amplitudes with any multiplicity and helicity. The formulae obtained in this way agree with the ones derived via prescriptive unitarity. It makes prescriptive unitarity naturally emerge from this geometric description. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper we focus on the orthogonal momentum amplituhedron O k, a recently introduced positive geometry that encodes the tree-level scattering amplitudes in ABJM theory. We generate the full boundary stratification of O k for various k and conjecture that its boundaries can be labelled by so-called orthogonal Grassmannian forests (OG forests). We determine the generating function for enumerating these forests according to their dimension and show that the Euler characteristic of the poset of these forests equals one. This provides a strong indication that the orthogonal momentum amplituhedron is homeomorphic to a ball. This paper is supplemented with the Mathematica package orthitroids which contains useful functions for exploring the structure of the positive orthogonal Grassmannian and the orthogonal momentum amplituhedron. In this paper we complete the exploration of connected components of the space of BPS Wilson loops in three-dimensional N = 4 Chern-Simons-matter theory on S3. The algorithm is to start with a supersymmetric Wilson loop, choose a preserved supercharge, and look for BPS deformations built out of the matter fields in the proper representations. Using this, we discover many new moduli spaces of nonconformal BPS Wilson loops preserving a single or two supercharges, which are subsets of the symmetries of the 1/4 and 3/8 BPS operators. In this paper we focus on scattering amplitudes in maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and define a long sought-after geometry, the loop momentum amplituhedron, which we conjecture to encode tree and (the integrands of) loop amplitudes in spinor helicity variables. Motivated by the structure of amplitude singularities, we define an extended positive space, which enhances the Grassmannian space featuring at tree level, and a map which associates to each of its points tree-level kinematic variables and loop momenta. The image of this map is the loop momentum amplituhedron. Importantly, our formulation provides a global definition of the loop momenta. We conjecture that for all multiplicities and helicity sectors, there exists a canonical logarithmic differential form defined on this space, and provide its explicit form in a few examples. Two-loop corrections to scattering amplitudes are crucial theoretical input for collider physics. Recent years have seen tremendous advances in computing Feynman integrals, scattering amplitudes, and cross sections for five-particle processes. In this paper, we initiate the study of the function space for planar two-loop six-particle processes. We study all genuine six-particle Feynman integrals, and derive the differential equations they satisfy on maximal cuts. Performing a leading singularity analysis in momentum space, and in Baikov representation, we find an integral basis that puts the differential equations into canonical form. The corresponding differential equation in the eight independent kinematic variables is derived with the finite-field reconstruction method and the symbol letters are identified. We identify the dual conformally invariant hexagon alphabet known from maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory as a subset of our alphabet. Understanding the map of line defects in a Quantum Field Theory under a given duality is generically a difficult problem. This paper is the second in a series which aims to address this question in the context of 3d N = 4 mirror symmetry. A general prescription for constructing vortex defects and their mirror maps in quiver gauge theories beyond the A-type was presented by the author in an earlier paper [1], where specific examples involving D-type and affine D-type quivers were discussed. In this paper, we apply the aforementioned prescription to construct a family of vortex defects as coupled 3d-1d systems in quiver gauge theories beyond the ADE-type, and study their mirror maps. Specifically, we focus on a class of quiver gauge theories involving unitary gauge nodes with edge multiplicity greater than 1, i.e. two gauge nodes in these theories may be connected by multiple bifundamental hypermultiplets. Quiver gauge theories of this type arise as 3d mirrors of certain Argyres-Douglas theories compactified on a circle. Some of these quiver gauge theories are known to have a pair of 3d mirrors, which are themselves related by an IR duality, discussed recently in [2]. For a concrete example where a pair of 3d mirrors do exist, we study how the vortex defects constructed using our prescription map to Wilson defects in each mirror theory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We discuss the 5d AGT correspondence of supergroup gauge theories with A-type supergroups. We introduce two intertwiners called positive and negative intertwiners to compute the instanton partition function. The positive intertwiner is the ordinary Awata-Feigin-Shiraishi intertwiner while the negative intertwiner is an intertwiner obtained by using central charges with negative levels. We show that composition of them gives the basic Nekrasov factors appearing in supergroup partition functions. We explicitly derive the instanton partition functions of supergroup gauge theories with A and D-type quiver structures. Using the intertwiners, we briefly study the Gaiotto state, qq-characters and the relation with quiver W-algebra. Furthermore, we show that the negative intertwiner corresponds to the anti-refined topological vertex recently defined by Kimura and Sugimoto. We also discuss how superquiver theories should appear in our formalism if they exist. The existence of the AGT correspondence of the theories we study in this paper implies that there is a broader 2d/4d (5d/q-algebra) correspondence, or more generally the BPS/CFT correspondence, where new non-unitary theories play important roles. In this paper we provide a detailed account of our calculation, briefly reported in arXiv:2209.09263, of a two-particle form factor of the lowest components of the stress-tensor multiplet in N = 4 sYM theory on its Coulomb branch, which is interpreted as an off-shell kinematical regime. We demonstrate that up to three-loop order, both its infrared-divergent as well as finite parts do exponentiate in the Sudakov regime, with the coefficient accompanying the double logarithm being determined by the octagon anomalous dimension Γoct. We also observe that up to this order in 't Hooft coupling the logarithm of the Sudakov form factor is identical to twice the logarithm of the null octagon, which was introduced within the context of integrability-based computation of four point correlators with infinitely large R-charges. The null octagon is known in a closed form for all values of the 't Hooft coupling constant and kinematical parameters. In this paper we initiate the study of correlation functions of a single trace operator and a circular supersymmetric Wilson loop in ABJM theory. The single trace operator is in the scalar sector and is an eigenstate of the planar two-loop dilatation operator. The Wilson loop is in the fundamental representation of the gauge group or a suitable (super-)group. Such correlation functions at tree level can be written as an overlap of the Bethe state corresponding to the single trace operator and a boundary state which corresponds to the Wilson loop. There are various type of supersymmetric Wilson loops in ABJM theory. We show that some of them correspond to tree-level integrable boundary states while some are not. For the tree-level integrable ones, we prove their integrability and obtain analytic formula for the overlaps. For the non-integrable ones, we give examples of non-vanishing overlaps for Bethe states which violate selection rules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we take a major step towards the construction and applications of an all-loop, all-multiplicity amplituhedron for three-dimensional planar N = 6 Chern-Simons matter theory, or the ABJM amplituhedron. We show that by simply changing the overall sign of the positive region of the original amplituhedron for four-dimensional planar N = 4 super-Yang-Mills (sYM) and performing a symplectic reduction, only three-dimensional kinematics in the middle sector of even-multiplicity survive. The resulting form of the geometry, combined with its parity images, gives the full loop integrand. This simple modification geometrically enforces the vanishing of odd-multiplicity cuts, and manifests the correct soft cuts as well as two-particle unitarity cuts. Furthermore, the so-called “bipartite structures” of four-point all-loop negative geometries also directly generalize to all multiplicities. We introduce a novel approach for triangulating loop amplituhedra based on the kinematics of the tree region, resulting in local integrands tailored to “prescriptive unitarity”. This construction sheds fascinating new light on the interplay between loop and tree amplituhedra for both ABJM and N = 4 sYM: the loop geometry demands that the tree region must be dissected into chambers, defined by the simultaneous positivity of maximal cuts. The loop geometry is then the “fibration” of the tree region. Using the new construction, we give explicit results of one-loop integrands up to ten points and two-loop integrands up to eight points by computing the canonical form of ABJM loop amplituhedron. Important illustration to the principle “partition functions in string theory are τ-functions of integrable equations” is the fact that the (dual) partition functions of 4d N = 2 gauge theories solve Painlevé equations. In this paper we show a road to self-consistent proof of the recently suggested generalization of this correspondence: partition functions of topological string on local Calabi-Yau manifolds solve q-difference equations of non-autonomous dynamics of the “cluster-algebraic”integrable systems. We explain in details the “solutions” side of the proposal. In the simplest non-trivial example we show how 3d box-counting of topological string partition function appears from the counting of dimers on bipartite graph with the discrete gauge field of “flux” q. This is a new form of topological string/spectral theory type correspondence, since the partition function of dimers can be computed as determinant of the linear q-difference Kasteleyn operator. Using WKB method in the “melting” q → 1 limit we get a closed integral formula for Seiberg-Witten prepotential of the corresponding 5d gauge theory. Multi-loop Feynman integrals are key objects for the high-order correction computations in high energy phenomenology. These integrals with multiple scales may have complicated symbol structures, and we show that twistor geometries of closely related dual conformal integrals shed light on their alphabet and symbol structures. In this paper, first, as a cutting-edge example, we derive the two-loop four-external-mass Feynman integrals with uniform transcendental (UT) weights, based on the latest developments on UT integrals. Then we find that all the symbol letters of these integrals can be explained non-trivially by studying the so-called Schubert problem of certain dual conformal integrals with a point at infinity. Certain properties of the symbol such as first two entries and extended Steinmann relations are also studied from analogous properties of dual conformal integrals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Symbol alphabets of n-particle amplitudes in N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory are known to contain certain cluster variables of G(4, n) as well as certain algebraic functions of cluster variables. The first paper arXiv:2007.00646 in this series focused on n = 8 algebraic letters. In this paper we show that it is possible to obtain all rational symbol letters (in fact all cluster variables) by solving matrix equations of the form C Z = 0 if one allows C to be an arbitrary cluster parameterization of the top cell of G+(n−4, n). The qq-characters are powerful tools to reveal symmetries and integrabilities of Seiberg-Witten theories. The goal of this paper is to provide analytic expressions of qq-characters based on Young diagrams in 5d 풩 = 1 pure Yang-Mills theories with BCD-type gauge groups, by focusing on the unrefined limit. Using these expressions, we investigate the relationships among qq-characters of classical gauge groups. For SO(n) gauge groups, we construct a quantum-toroidal-like algebra via the Ward-identity approach, which allows us to derive the qq-characters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, a large class of 3d 풩 = 2 gauge theories with mixed Chern-Simons levels, corresponding to plumbing 3-manifolds, has been identified. In this paper we generalize these theories by including in their content chiral multiples, and analyze their properties. We find that the content of such theories can be encoded in graphs, which generalize plumbing graphs, and various operations in these theories can be represented in terms of transformations of such graphs. The operations in question include gauging global symmetries, integrating out gauge nodes, which for theories without chiral multiplets corresponds to Kirby moves, and ST-transformations that involve chiral multiplets. The dualities such as mirror triality and SQED-XYZ duality can be also represented in terms of graphs, and enable us to find many new dual theories by gauging global symmetries. In particular, we find that gauged SQED-XYZ duality leads to other dualities, which take the same form as operations of linking and unlinking discussed in the context of knots-quivers correspondence. We also find that the superpotential can be encoded in an interesting class of triangle graphs that satisfy certain consistency conditions, we discuss decoupling and Higgsing of chiral multiplets, as well as interpretation of various phenomena in terms of brane webs. Conformal theories of the Argyres-Douglas type are notoriously hard to study given that they are isolated and strongly coupled thus lacking a lagrangian description. In flat space, an exact description is provided by the Seiberg-Witten theory. Turning on a Ω-background makes the geometry "quantum" and tractable only in the weak curvature limit. In this paper we use the AGT correspondence to derive Ω-exact formulae for the partition function, in the nearby of monopole points where the dynamics is described by irregular conformal blocks of the CFT. The results are checked against those obtained by the recursion relations coming from a conformal anomaly in the region where the two approaches overlap. The Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit is also discussed. Finally, we comment on the existence of black holes in De Sitter space whose low energy dynamics is described by an Argyres-Douglas theory. In this paper we use lattice simulation to study four dimensional N = 4 super Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. We have focused on the three color theory on lattices of size 124 and for 't Hooft couplings up to λ = 40.0. Our lattice action is based on a discretization of the Marcus or GL twist of N = 4 SYM and retains one exact supersymmetry for non-zero lattice spacing. We show that lattice theory exists in a single non-Abelian Coulomb phase for all 't Hooft couplings. Furthermore the static potential we obtain from correlators of Polyakov lines is in good agreement with that obtained from holography — specifically the potential has a Coulombic form with a coefficent that varies as the square root of the 't Hooft coupling. The computation of the partition function in certain quantum field theories, such as those of the Argyres-Douglas or Minahan-Nemeschansky type, is problematic due to the lack of a Lagrangian description. In this paper, we use the holomorphic anomaly equation to derive the gravitational corrections to the prepotential of such theories at rank one by deforming them from the conformal point. In the conformal limit, we find a general formula for the partition function as a sum of hypergeometric functions. We show explicit results for the round sphere and the Nekrasov-Shatashvili phases of the Ω background. The first case is relevant for the derivation of extremal correlators in flat space, whereas the second one has interesting applications for the study of anharmonic oscillators. We recently proved that, when integrating out the spacetime dependence with a certain integration measure, four-point correlators O 2 O 2 O p i O p i in 풩 = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with SU(N) gauge group are governed by a universal Laplace-difference equation. Here O p i is a superconformal primary with charge p and degeneracy i. These physical observables, called integrated correlators, are modular-invariant functions of Yang-Mills coupling τ. The Laplace-difference equation is a recursion relation that relates integrated correlators of operators with different charges. In this paper, we introduce the generating functions for these integrated correlators that sum over the charge. By utilising the Laplace-difference equation, we determine the generating functions for all the integrated correlators, in terms of the initial data of the recursion relation. We show that the transseries of the integrated correlators in the large-p (i.e. large-charge) expansion for a fixed N consists of three parts: 1) is independent of τ, which behaves as a power series in 1/p, plus an additional log(p) term when i = j; 2) is a power series in 1/p, with coefficients given by a sum of the non-holomorphic Eisenstein series; 3) is a sum of exponentially decayed modular functions in the large-p limit, which can be viewed as a generalisation of the non-holomorphic Eisenstein series. When i = j, there is an additional modular function of τ that is independent of p and is fully determined in terms of the integrated correlator with p = 2. The Laplace-difference equation was obtained with a reorganisation of the operators that means the large-charge limit is taken in a particular way here. From these SL(2, ℤ)-invariant results, we also determine the generalised 't Hooft genus expansion and the associated large-p non-perturbative corrections of the integrated correlators by introducing λ = p g YM 2 . The generating functions have subtle differences between even and odd N, which have important consequences in the large-charge expansion and resurgence analysis. We also consider the generating functions of the integrated correlators for some fixed p by summing over N, and we study their large-N behaviour, as well as comment on the similarities and differences between the large-p expansion and the large-N expansion. Application of the supersymmetric localization method to theories on anti-de Sitter spacetime has received recent interest, yet still remains as a challenging problem. In this paper, we focus on (global) Euclidean AdS2, on which we consider an Abelian 풩 = (2) theory and implement localization computation to obtain the exact partition function. For comparison, we also revisit the theory on S2 and perform a parallel computation. We refine the notion of equivariant supersymmetry and use appropriate functional integration measure. For AdS2 we choose a supersymmetric boundary condition which is compatible with the principle of variation. To evaluate the 1-loop determinant about the localization saddle, we use index theory and fixed point formula, where we pay attention to the effect of zero modes and their superpartners. The existence of fermionic superpartner of 1-form boundary zero modes is proven. Obtaining the 1-loop determinant requires expansion of the index that presents an ambiguity, which we resolve using boundary condition. The resulting partition function reveals an overall dependence on the size of the background manifold, AdS2 as well as S2, as a sum of two types of contributions: a local one from local conformal anomaly through the index computation and a global one coming from zero modes. This overall size dependence matches with the perturbative 1-loop evaluation using heat kernel method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We propose a unified perspective on two sets of objects that usually arise in the study of bipartite field theories. Each of the sets consists of a polytope, or equivalently a toric Calabi-Yau, and a quiver theory. We refer to the two sets of objects as original and twin. In the simplest cases, the two sides of the correspondence are connected by the graph operation known as untwisting. The democratic treatment that we advocate raises new questions regarding the connections between these objects, some of which we explore. With this motivation in mind, we establish a correspondence between the mutations of the original polytope and the twin quiver. This leads us to propose that non-toric twin quivers are naturally associated to generalized toric polygons (GTPs) and we explore various aspects of this idea. Supporting evidence includes global symmetries, the ability of twin quivers to encode the generalized s-rule, and the connection between the mutations of polytopes and of configurations of webs of 5-branes suspended from 7-branes. We introduce three methods for constructing twin quivers for GTPs. We also investigate the connection between twin quivers obtained using different toric phases. Twin quivers provide a powerful new perspective on GTPs. The ideas presented in this paper may represent a step towards the generalization of brane tilings to GTPs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We study the quantum dynamics of a system of n Abelian N = 1 vector multiplets coupled to 1 2 n n + 1 chiral multiplets which parametrise the Hermitian symmetric space Sp(2n, ℝ)/U(n). In the presence of supergravity, this model is super-Weyl invariant and possesses the maximal non-compact duality group Sp(2n, ℝ) at the classical level. These symmetries should be respected by the logarithmically divergent term (the "induced action") of the effective action obtained by integrating out the vector multiplets. In computing the effective action, one has to deal with non-minimal operators for which the known heat kernel techniques are not directly applicable, even in flat (super)space. In this paper we develop a method to compute the induced action in Minkowski superspace. The induced action is derived in closed form and has a simple structure. It is a higher-derivative superconformal sigma model on Sp(2n, ℝ)/U(n). The obtained N = 1 results are generalised to the case of N = 2 local supersymmetry: a system of n Abelian N = 2 vector multiplets coupled to N = 2 chiral multiplets XI parametrising Sp(2n, ℝ)/U(n). The induced action is shown to be proportional to ∫ d 4 x d 4 θ d 4 θ ¯ E K X X ¯ , where K X X ¯ is the Kähler potential for Sp(2n, ℝ)/U(n). We also apply our method to compute DeWitt's a2 coefficients in some non-supersymmetric theories with non-minimal operators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently an algorithm to dualize a theory into its mirror dual has been proposed, both for 3d N = 4 linear quivers and for their 4d N = 1 uplift. This mimics the manipulations done at the level of the Type IIB brane setup that engineers the 3d theories, where mirror symmetry is realized as S-duality, but it is enirely field-theoretic and based on the application of genuine infra-red dualities that implement the local action of S-duality on the quiver. In this paper, we generalize the algorithm to the full duality group, which is SL(2, ℤ) in 3d and PSL(2, ℤ) in 4d. This also produces dualities for 3d N = 3 theories with Chern-Simons couplings, some of which have enhanced N = 4 supersymmetry, and their new 4d N = 1 counterpart. In addition, we propose three ways to study the RG flows triggered by possible VEVs appearing at the last step of the algorithm, one of which uses a new duality that implements the Hanany-Witten move in field theory. Many interesting phenomena in quantum field theory such as dualities and symmetry enhancements can be understood using higher dimensional constructions. In this paper, we study compactifications of the rank 1 5d Seiberg E N f + 1 SCFTs to 3d on Riemann surfaces of genus g > 1. We rely on the recent progress in the study of compactifications of 6d SCFTs to 4d and torus compactifications of 5d SCFTs to conjecture 3d N = 2 theories corresponding to the reduction of said 5d SCFTs on three punctured spheres. These can then be used to build 3d N = 2 models corresponding to compactifications on more general surfaces. The map of half-BPS line defects under mirror symmetry has previously been worked out for 3d N = 4 linear quivers with unitary gauge groups, where these defects have a clear realization in terms of a brane picture in Type IIB String Theory. In this work, we initiate the study of line defects and the associated mirror maps for more general 3d N = 4 quiver gauge theories from a QFT approach, using the S-type operations introduced in [1]. In particular, our construction does not rely on any String Theory realization of the quiver gauge theories and the defects. After discussing the general framework for the construction of these line defects and their mirror maps, we focus on quiver gauge theories of the D-type and the affine D-type with unitary gauge groups, as a concrete set of examples. Some of the line defects we study admit a Hanany-Witten description and we show that the associated mirror maps predicted by the Type IIB construction in these cases agree with the QFT computation. In addition, we study an example involving defects in an affine D-type theory, for which the dual theory is not directly realized by the Type IIB description. Spin Matrix theory describes near-BPS limits of N = 4 SYM theory, which enables us to probe finite N effects like D-branes and black hole physics. In previous works, we have developed the spherical reduction and spin chain methods to construct Spin Matrix theory for various limits. In this paper, by considering a supercharge Q which is cubic in terms of the letters, we construct the Hamiltonian of the largest Spin Matrix theory of N = 4 SYM, called the PSU(1, 2|3) Spin Matrix theory, as H = Q Q † . We show the resulting Hamiltonian is automatically positive definite and manifestly invariant under supersymmetry. The Hamiltonian is made of basic blocks which transform as supermultiplets. A novel feature of this Hamiltonian is its division into D-terms and F-terms that are separately invariant under PSU(1, 2|3) symmetry and positive definite. In this paper, we give a new effective superpotential that makes clear Bethe/Gauge correspondence between 2d (and 3d) SO/Sp gauge theories and open XXX (and XXZ) spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions, and also works in the case of 2d (and 3d) BCN-type gauge theories which is not previously discussed in the literature. Especially, for exceptional Lie algebras F4, G2, we give the effective superpotential and vacuum equations. For E6,7,8, we only give theirs effective superpotential for convenience. In this paper the harmonic superspace action of the tensor multiplet of N = (1, 0), d = 6 supersymmetry is constructed which in the bosonic limit reduces to the known Pasti-Sorokin-Tonin action for the self-dual tensor field. The action involves, besides the potential containing the dynamical fields, also an auxiliary tensor multiplet and a set of analytic superfields with gauge PST scalar among them. For each of gauge symmetries of the PST action, a superfield analog is found. The equations of motion are calculated and it is shown that no extra degrees of freedom appear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work we obtain the planar free energy for the Hermitian one-matrix model with various choices of the potential. We accomplish this by applying an approach that bypasses the usual diagonalization of the matrices and the introduction of the eigenvalue density, to directly zero in the evaluation of the planar free energy. In the first part of the paper, we focus on potentials with finitely many terms. For various choices of potentials, we manage to find closed expressions for the planar free energy, and in some cases determine or bound their radius of convergence as a series in the 't Hooft coupling. In the second part of the paper we consider specific examples of potentials with infinitely many terms, that arise in the study of N = 2 super Yang-Mills theories on S4, via supersymmetric localization. We investigate the NSVZ relations for N = 1 supersymmetric gauge theories with multiple gauge couplings. As examples, we consider MSSM and the flipped SU(5) model, for which they easily reproduce the results for the two-loop β-functions. For N = 1 SQCD interacting with the Abelian gauge superfield we demonstrate that the NSVZ-like equation for the Adler D-function follows from the NSVZ relations. Also we derive all-loop equations describing how the NSVZ equations for theories with multiple gauge couplings change under finite renormalizations. They allow describing a continuous set of NSVZ schemes in which the exact NSVZ β-functions are valid for all gauge coupling constants. Very likely, this class includes the HD+MSL scheme, which is obtained if a theory is regularized by Higher covariant Derivatives and divergences are removed by Minimal Subtractions of Logarithms. That is why we also discuss how one can construct the higher derivative regularization for theories with multiple gauge couplings. Presumably, this regularization allows to derive the NSVZ equations for such theories in all loops. In this paper we make the first step of this derivation, namely, the NSVZ equations for theories with multiple gauge couplings are rewritten in a new form which relates the β-functions to the anomalous dimensions of the quantum gauge superfields, of the Faddeev-Popov ghosts, and of the matter superfields. The equivalence of this new form to the original NSVZ relations follows from the extension of the non-renormalization theorem for the triple gauge-ghost vertices, which is also derived in this paper. In this paper, we present the two-loop correction to scattering amplitudes in three-dimensional N = 6 Chern-Simons matter theory. We use the eight-point case as our main example, but the method generalizes to all multiplicities. The integrand is completely fixed by dual conformal symmetry, maximal cuts, constraints from soft-collinear behavior, and from the vanishing of odd-multiplicity amplitudes. After performing integrations with Higgs regularizations, the integrated results demonstrate that the infrared divergence is again identical to that of N = 4 super Yang-Mills. After subtracting divergences, the finite part is dual conformal invariant, and respects various symmetries; it has uniform transcendentality weight two and exhibits a nice analytic structure. In this paper we study on-shell diagrams in 풩 < 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. These are on-shell gauge invariant objects which appear as cuts of loop integrands in the context of generalized unitarity and serve as building blocks for amplitudes in recursion relations. In the dual formulation, they are associated with cells of the positive Grassmannian G+(k, n) and the on-shell functions can be reproduced as canonical differential forms. While for the case of the 풩 = 4 maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory all poles in on-shell diagrams correspond to IR poles when the momentum flows in edges are zero, for 풩 < 4 SYM theories there are new UV poles when the loop momenta go to infinity. These poles originate from the prefactor of the canonical dlog form and do not correspond to erasing edges in on-shell diagrams. We show that they can be interpreted as a diagrammatic operation which involves pinching a loop and performing a “non-planar twist” on external legs, which gives rise to a non-planar on-shell diagram. Our result provides an important clue on the role of poles at infinite momenta in on-shell scattering amplitudes, and the relation to non-planar on-shell functions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Elliptic multiple polylogarithms occur in Feynman integrals and in particular in scattering amplitudes. They can be characterized by their symbol, a tensor product in the so-called symbol letters. In contrast to the non-elliptic case, the elliptic letters themselves satisfy highly non-trivial identities, which we discuss in this paper. Moreover, we introduce the symbol prime, an analog of the symbol for elliptic symbol letters, which makes these identities manifest. We demonstrate its use in two explicit examples at two-loop order: the unequal-mass sunrise integral in two dimensions and the ten-point double-box integral in four dimensions. We study SU(2) gauge theories coupled to (A1, DN) theories with or without a fundamental hypermultiplet. For even N, a formula for the contribution of (A1, DN) to the Nekrasov partition function was recently obtained by us with Y. Sugawara and T. Uetoko. In this paper, we generalize it to the case of odd N in the classical limit, under the condition that the relevant couplings and vacuum expectation values of Coulomb branch operators of (A1, DN) are all turned off. We apply our formula to the (A2, A5) theory to find that its prepotential is related to that of the SU(2) gauge theory with four fundamental flavors by a simple change of variables. Mirror symmetry, a three dimensional N = 4 IR duality, has been studied in detail for quiver gauge theories of the ADE-type (as well as their affine versions) with unitary gauge groups. The A-type quivers (also known as linear quivers) and the associated mirror dualities have a particularly simple realization in terms of a Type IIB system of D3-D5-NS5-branes. In this paper, we present a systematic field theory prescription for constructing 3d mirror pairs beyond the ADE quiver gauge theories, starting from a dual pair of A-type quivers with unitary gauge groups. The construction involves a certain generalization of the S and the T operations, which arise in the context of the SL(2, ℤ) action on a 3d CFT with a U(1) 0-form global symmetry. We implement this construction in terms of two supersymmetric observables — the round sphere partition function and the superconformal index on S2 × S1. We discuss explicit examples of various (non-ADE) infinite families of mirror pairs that can be obtained in this fashion. In addition, we use the above construction to conjecture explicit 3d N = 4 Lagrangians for 3d SCFTs, which arise in the deep IR limit of certain Argyres-Douglas theories compactified on a circle. In this work we present a new class of N = 1 supersymmetric confining gauge theories, with strikingly simple infrared theories that descend from intricate interconnected networks of product gauge groups. A diagram of the gauge groups and the charged matter content of the ultraviolet theory has the structure of a triangular lattice, with SU(N) or SU(3N) gauge groups at each of the vertices, connected by bifundamental chiral superfields. This structure admits a U(1)R conserving superpotential with marginal (trilinear) operators. With the introduction of this superpotential, the SU(3N) and SU(N) gauge groups confine: in the far infrared limit of the supersymmetric theory, the relevant degrees of freedom are gauge invariant “mesons” and “baryons.” In this paper we show how the properties of the infrared degrees of freedom depend on the topology and shape of the moose/quiver “lattice” of the original gauge theory. Between the local structure of the moose lattice at higher energies, and the boundary dependence that emerges in the infrared, the 4d moose lattice theory reproduces features of a 6d spacetime with two compact dimensions. Recently, the first instance of a model of D-branes at Calabi-Yau singularities where supersymmetry is broken dynamically into stable vacua has been proposed. This construction was based on a system of N regular and M = 1 fractional branes placed at the tip of the so-called (orientifolded) Octagon singularity. In this paper we show that this model admits a large M generalization, having the same low energy effective dynamics. This opens up the possibility that the effect on geometry is smooth, and amenable to describing the gauge theory all along the RG flow, including the deep IR, in terms of a weakly coupled gravity dual background. The paper addresses the question whether in four spacetime dimensions, besides standard supergravity theories, field theories exist whose symmetries include local spacetime translations and supersymmetries generated by transformations whose commutators contain infinitesimal local spacetime translations. Several new supersymmetric free field theories are found which may provide theories of that type. It is outlined how these free field theories may be extended to globally supersymmetric theories with the desired properties. One class of such theories is constructed explicitly. These theories are similar to globally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories in flat spacetime but have supersymmetries generated by transformations whose commutators generate infinitesimal general coordinate transformations with field dependent gauge parameters. In this paper we study the dual charges of N = 1 supergravity in asymptotically flat space-time. The action considered is the usual supergravity action with a topological contribution. This is the Nieh-Yan term and the magnetic term of the free Rarita-Schwinger field. Through methods of the covariant phase space formalism we construct the charges conjugate to supersymmetry, diffeomorphism and Lorentz transformations. The additional term in the action will lead to new, non-vanishing contributions to these charges. The magnetic diffeomorphism charges are equivalent to the ones previously found for gravity, while the dual supersymmetric charges are new and do not appear for the free Rarita-Schwinger field. The dual Lorentz charges serve to regularize the previous two. We find that the asymptotic symmetry group for supergravity can only include globally well-defined super-rotations. We consider limits of N = 4 super Yang-Mills (SYM) theory that approach BPS bounds and for which an SU(1,1) structure is preserved. The resulting near-BPS theories become non-relativistic, with a U(1) symmetry emerging in the limit that implies the conservation of particle number. They are obtained by reducing N = 4 SYM on a three-sphere and subsequently integrating out fields that become non-dynamical as the bounds are approached. Upon quantization, and taking into account normal-ordering, they are consistent with taking the appropriate limits of the dilatation operator directly, thereby corresponding to Spin Matrix theories, found previously in the literature. In the particular case of the SU(1,1—1) near-BPS/Spin Matrix theory, we find a superfield formulation that applies to the full interacting theory. Moreover, for all the theories we find tantalizingly simple semi-local formulations as theories living on a circle. Finally, we find positive-definite expressions for the interactions in the classical limit for all the theories, which can be used to explore their strong coupling limits. The relationship of two dimensional quantum field theory and isomonodromic deformations of Fuchsian systems has a long history. Recently four-dimensional N = 2 gauge theories joined the party in a multitude of roles. In this paper we study the vacuum expectation values of intersecting half-BPS surface defects in SU(2) theory with Nf = 4 fundamental hypermultiplets. We show they form a horizontal section of a Fuchsian system on a sphere with 5 regular singularities, calculate the monodromy, and define the associated isomonodromic tau-function. Using the blowup formula in the presence of half-BPS surface defects, initiated in the companion paper, we obtain the GIL formula, establishing an unexpected relation of the topological string/free fermion regime of supersymmetric gauge theory to classical integrability. In this paper we study the large N limit of four-dimensional Supersymmetric Yang-Mills on the lattice using twisted reduced models. We have generated configurations with dynamical massive gluinos and various lattice 't Hooft couplings, and verified that the Pfaffian remains positive. We have determined the lattice spacing in terms of various observables obtaining compatible results. Extrapolating to the massless gluino limit we obtain the lattice spacing dependence on the bare couplings for the supersymmetric theory. Recently, new classes of infinite-dimensional algebras, quiver Yangian (QY) and shifted QY, were introduced, and they act on BPS states for non-compact toric Calabi-Yau threefolds. In particular, shifted QY acts on general subcrystals of the original BPS crystal. A trigonometric deformation called quiver quantum toroidal algebra (QQTA) was also proposed and shown to act on the same BPS crystal. Unlike QY, QQTA has a formal Hopf superalgebra structure which is useful in deriving representations. In this paper, we define the shifted QQTA and study a class of their representations. We define 1d and 2d subcrystals of the original 3d crystal by removing a few arrows from the original quiver diagram and show how the shifted QQTA acts on them. We construct the 2d crystal representations from the 1d crystal representations by utilizing a generalized coproduct acting on different shifted QQTAs. We provide a detailed derivation of subcrystal representations of ℂ3, ℂ3/ℤn(n ≥ 2), conifold, suspended pinch point, and ℂ3/(ℤ2× ℤ2). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The twisted index of 3d N = 2 gauge theories on S1× Σ has an algebro-geometric interpretation as the Witten index of an effective supersymmetric quantum mechanics. In this paper, we consider the contributions to the supersymmetric quantum mechanics from topological saddle points in supersymmetric localisation of abelian gauge theories. Topological saddles are configurations where the matter fields vanish and the gauge symmetry is unbroken, which exist for non-vanishing effective Chern-Simons levels. We compute the contributions to the twisted index from both topological and vortex-like saddles points and show that their combination recovers the Jeffrey-Kirwan residue prescription for the twisted index and its wall-crossing. It is an interesting question whether a given infra-red duality between quantum field theories can be explained in terms of other more elementary dualities. For example recently it has been shown that mirror dualities can be obtained by iterative applications of Seiberg-like dualities. In this paper we continue this line of investigation focusing on theories with tensor matter. In such cases one can apply the idea of deconfinement, which consists of trading the tensor matter for extra gauge nodes by means of a suitable elementary duality. This gives an auxiliary dual frame which can then be manipulated with further dualizations, in an iterative procedure eventually yielding an interesting dual description of the original theory. The sequential deconfinement technique has avatars in different areas of mathematical physics, such as the study of hypergeometric and elliptic hypergeometric integral identities or of 2d free field correlators. We discuss various examples in the context 4d N = 1 supersymmetric theories, which are related to elliptic hypergeometric integrals. These include a new self-duality involving a quiver theory which exhibits a non-trivial global symmetry enhancement to E6. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this first of two papers, we explain in detail the simplest example of a broader set of relations between apparently very different theories. Our example relates su 2 N = 4 super Yang-Mills (SYM) to a theory we call "(3, 2)". This latter theory is an exactly marginal diagonal SU(2) gauging of three D3(SU(2)) Argyres-Douglas (AD) theories. We begin by observing that the Schur indices of these two theories are related by an algebraic transformation that is surprisingly reminiscent of index transformations describing spontaneous symmetry breaking on the Higgs branch. However, this transformation breaks half the supersymmetry of the SYM theory as well as its full N = 2 SU(2)F flavor symmetry. Moreover, it does so in an interesting way when viewed through the lens of the corresponding 2D vertex operator algebras (VOAs): affine currents of the small N = 4 super-Virasoro algebra at c = −9 get mapped to the A 6 stress tensor and some of its conformal descendants, while the extra supersymmetry currents on the N = 4 side get mapped to higher-dimensional fermionic currents and their descendants on the A 6 side. We prove these relations are facets of an exact graded vector space isomorphism (GVSI) between these two VOAs. This GVSI respects the U(1)r charge of the parent 4D theories. We briefly sketch how more general su N N = 4 SYM theories are related to an infinite class of AD theories via generalizations of our example. We conclude by showing that, in this class of theories, the A 6 VOA saturates a new inequality on the number of strong generators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper we present various 4d N = 1 dualities involving theories obtained by gluing two E[USp(2N)] blocks via the gauging of a common USp(2N) symmetry with the addition of 2L fundamental matter chiral fields. For L = 0 in particular the theory has a quantum deformed moduli space with chiral symmetry breaking and its index takes the form of a delta-function. We interpret it as the Identity wall which identifies the two surviving USp(2N) of each E[USp(2N)] block. All the dualities are derived from iterative applications of the Intriligator-Pouliot duality. This plays for us the role of the fundamental duality, from which we derive all others. We then focus on the 3d version of our 4d dualities, which now involve the N = 4 T[SU(N)] quiver theory that is known to correspond to the 3d S-wall. We show how these 3d dualities correspond to the relations S2 = −1, S−1S = 1 and STS = T−1S−1T−1 for the S and T generators of SL(2, ℤ). Placing D3-branes at conical Calabi-Yau threefold singularities produces many AdS5/CFT4 duals. Recent progress in differential geometry has produced a technique (called K-stability) to recognize which singularities admit conical Calabi-Yau metrics. On the other hand, the algebraic technique of non-commutative crepant resolutions, involving matrix factorizations, has been developed to associate a quiver to a singularity.
