In this paper we further study the 1d Schwarzian theory, the universal low-energy limit of Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev models, using the link with 2d Liouville theory. We provide a path-integral derivation of the structural link between both theories, and study the relation between 3d gravity, 2d Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity, 2d Liouville and the 1d Schwarzian. We then generalize the Schwarzian double-scaling limit to rational models, relevant for SYK-type models with internal symmetries. We identify the holographic gauge theory as a 2d BF theory and compute correlators of the holographically dual 1d particle-on-a-group action, decomposing these into diagrammatic building blocks, in a manner very similar to the Schwarzian theory. In this paper, based on the notion of plane wave string/gauge theory duality, we explore the pp wave limit associated with the bosonic sector of η deformed superstrings propagating in (AdS5 × S5)η. Our analysis reveals that in the presence of NS-NS and RR fluxes, the pp wave limit associated to full ABF background satisfies type IIB equations in its standard form. However, the beta functions as well as the string Hamiltonian start receiving non trivial curvature corrections as one starts probing beyond pp wave limit which thereby takes solutions away from the standard type IIB form. Furthermore, using uniform gauge, we also explore the BMN dynamics associated with short strings and compute the corresponding Hamiltonian density. Finally, we explore the Penrose limit associated with the HT background and compute the corresponding stringy spectrum for the bosonic sector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) equations for planar N=6 super-conformal Chern-Simons (SCS) are solved numerically at finite values of the coupling constant for states in the sl2|1 sector.New weak coupling results for conformal dimensions of operators outside the sl2-like sector are obtained by adapting a recently proposed algorithm for the QSC perturbative solution. Besides being interesting in their own right, these perturbative results are necessary initial inputs for the numerical algorithm to converge on the correct solution.The non-perturbative numerical outcomes nicely interpolate between the weak coupling and the known semiclassical expansions, and novel strong coupling exact results are deduced from the numerics. Finally, the existence of contour crossing singularities in the TBA equations for the operator 20 is ruled out by our analysis.The results of this paper are an important test of the QSC formalism for this model, open the way to new quantitative studies and provide further evidence in favour of the conjectured weak/strong coupling duality between N=6 SCS and type IIA superstring theory on AdS4 × CP3. Using holographic methods in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axion (EMDA) theory, it was conjectured that the thermal diffusion in a strongly coupled metal without quasi-particles saturates an universal lower bound that is associated with the chaotic property of the system at infrared (IR) fixed points [1]. In this paper, we investigate the thermal transport and quantum chaos in the EMDA theory with a small Weyl coupling term. It is found that the Weyl coupling correct the thermal diffusion constant DQ and butterfly velocity vB in different ways, hence resulting in a modified relation between the two at IR fixed points. Unlike that in the EMDA case, our results show that the ratio DQ/(vB2τL) always contains a non-universal Weyl correction which depends also on the bulk fields as long as the U(1) current is marginally relevant in the IR. In this paper we study the supermultiplet structure of N = (1, 1) General Massive Supergravity at non-critical and critical points of its parameter space. To do this, we first linearize the theory around its maximally supersymmetric AdS3 vacuum and obtain the full linearized Lagrangian including fermionic terms. At generic values, linearized modes can be organized as two massless and 2 massive multiplets where supersymmetry relates them in the standard way. At critical points logarithmic modes appear and we find that in three of such points some of the supersymmetry transformations are non-invertible in logarithmic multiplets. However, in the fourth critical point, there is a massive logarithmic multiplet with invertible supersymmetry transformations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper we study segmented strings in AdS3 coupled to a background two-form whose field strength is proportional to the volume form. By changing the coupling, the theory interpolates between the Nambu-Goto string and the SL(2, ℝ) Wess-Zumino-Witten model. In terms of the kink momentum vectors, the action is independent of the coupling and the classical theory reduces to a single discrete-time Toda-type theory. We recently used Virasoro symmetry considerations to propose an exact formula for a bulk proto-field ϕ in AdS3. In this paper we study the propagator 〈ϕϕ〉. We show that many techniques from the study of conformal blocks can be generalized to compute it, including the semiclassical monodromy method and both forms of the Zamolodchikov recursion relations. When the results from recursion are expanded at large central charge, they match gravitational perturbation theory for a free scalar field coupled to gravity in our chosen gauge.We find that although the propagator is finite and well-defined at long distances, its perturbative expansion in GN=32c exhibits UV/IR mixing effects. If we nevertheless interpret 〈ϕϕ〉 as a probe of bulk locality, then when GNmϕ≪1 locality breaks down at the new short-distance scale σ∗∼GNRAdS34. For ϕ with very large bulk mass, or at small central charge, bulk locality fails at the AdS length scale. In all cases, locality ‘breakdown’ manifests as singularities or branch cuts at spacelike separation arising from non-perturbative quantum gravitational effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper we perform, in the spirit of the holographic correspondence, a particular asymptotic limit of N=2, AdS4 supergravity to N=2 supergravity on a locally AdS3 boundary. Our boundary theory enjoys OSp(2|2) × SO(1,2) invariance and is shown to contain the D = 3 super-Chern Simons OSp(2|2) theory considered in [1] and featuring “unconventional local supersymmetry”. The model constructed in that reference describes the dynamics of a spin-1/2 Dirac field in the absence of spin 3/2 gravitini and was shown to be relevant for the description of graphene, near the Dirac points, for specific spatial geometries. Our construction yields the model in [1] with a specific prescription on the parameters. In this framework the Dirac spin-1/2 fermion originates from the radial components of the gravitini in D = 4. Hidden conformal symmetries of scalar field on various black hole backgrounds have been investigated for years, but whether those features hold for other fields are still open questions. Recently, with proper assumptions, Lunin achieved to the separation of variables for Maxwell equations on Kerr background. In this paper, with that equation, we find that hidden conformal symmetry appears at near region under low frequency limit. We also extended those results to vector field on the more general Kerr-NUT-(A)dS background, then hidden conformal symmetry also appears if we focusing on the near-horizon region at low frequency limit.
