Abstract

Nanometer-sized manganic oxide (Mn 2 O 3 ) has been prepared for the first time by a chemical liquid homogeneous precipitation (CLHP) method. Transmission electron micrographs and X-ray powder diffraction patterns show that the average particle sizes are in the range of 9–50 nm. From the electron spin resonance (ESR) patterns of 9 nm manganic oxide particle, we can observe hyperfine structure (Six absorption peaks of ESR) of Mn 2+ ion adding the Mn 3+ ion signal.

Abstract

Multi-morphology PbS: frame-film structures, twin nanorods, and single-crystal films have been prepared by a polymer-assisted solvothermal route in the presence of poly[N-(2-Aminoethyl)acrylamide] in the range of 110-150°C. Of particular interest is that the as-made samples have novel and regular geometric morphologies. The frame-film structures are composed of thin films and closed frames. The twin nanorods with ca. 100 nm in diameter and several micrometers in length are the two parallel nanorods linked by thin films. PbS single-crystal films were for the first time prepared by a simple chemical route.

Abstract

Single-crystal Sb2S3 nanorods, dendrite-like superstructures and straw-tied-like architectures were successfully synthesized via a novel precursor–solvothermal–pyrolysis route at ∼160°C. The as-prepared dendrites and straw-tied-like architectures were composed of sheaves of Sb2S3 nanorods with typical diameters of 40–120 nm and lengths up to 10 μm, which yields exceptionally high aspect ratios of 50–200. It is found that the reaction temperature, time and solvent play important roles in the formation of the final Sb2S3 nanorod-based products. The possible mechanism is briefly discussed for the growth of the Sb2S3 superstructural crystals. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
