Abstract

Evaluates the accuracy of surface heat flux estimates from atmospheric model reanalyses by comparison with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute research buoy measurements made during the subduction experiment in the Northeast Atlantic Ocean. Underestimation of the ocean heat gain; Model bias due to a combination underestimated shortwave gain.
