– This study embarks on a comprehensive journey through the factors influencing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance by employing a two-fold approach: a bibliometric analysis and a systematic literature review. Scopus, a prominent scientific database, was utilized to examine publications spanning the years 2014–2023. The article selection process followed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Biblioshiny, R Studio software, version 4.2.0, was used for bibliometric analysis. – Bibliometric analysis identified the most influential articles, journals, countries, authors, and themes in the field. The systematic literature review established seven key themes as the fundamental factors influencing ESG performance. Wood-based panels are products used in various applications with the potential to replace energy-intensive materials while promoting carbon sequestration. This article aims to systematically review the scientific literature assessing the impacts of wood-based panel manufacturing from a life cycle perspective. It intends to identify different methodological choices and challenges, compare impacts on the climate change impact category and provide recommendations for future assessments. The reviewed articles were identified using search strings in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, focusing on the different wood-based panel sub-types (veneer sheets, plywood, particleboard or chipboard, fibreboard). In total, 53 articles were selected for qualitative and 36 for quantitative synthesis. Most articles were published in the United States of America, Spain, Brazil or China, which are among the largest wood-based panel producers. This study's assessment shows that the published articles' methodological choices varied widely, specifically concerning the functional unit, system boundaries, procedures to deal with multifunctionality, biogenic carbon modelling and impact assessment methods. Further, its quantitative synthesis reveals considerable variability in the results, even within the same panel subtype. Laminated veneer lumber tends to be the least carbon-intensive wood-based panel. However, a lack of uniformity in previous articles' methodological choices precludes comparisons of results. For this reason, elaborating Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) for wood-based panels to harmonize methodological choices is critical for obtaining comparable results regarding multiple environmental impact categories. Diversity multi-criteria decision-making methods have been developed to address different complex decision-making problems, and the analytic network process has been found to be one of the most effective techniques. There is an increase in the quality and quantity of publications related to the analytic network process. This detailed overview can provide the research status and development characteristics of analytic network process research and will be useful to researchers for future research directions. To achieve these goals, bibliometric techniques were used. In addition, past and present hotspots of analytic network process research were concluded, and future research trends were determined. The bibliometric analysis was carried out from various aspects including countries and regions, institutions, journals, authors, research areas, articles and author keywords based on data harvested from the Web of Science database. There were 1485 analytic network process-related publications retrieved from the Web of Science. The results show that Expert Systems with Applications was the most productive journal publishing articles in analytic network process research (118); its number of publications has decreased dramatically since 2013, while Journal of Cleaner Production has shown an upward trend in recent years and ranks second with 47 publications. The most collaborative country is the United States. Taiwan takes a leading position in analytic network process research with 436 publications (29.36%), and National Chiao Tung University, which is located in Taiwan, produced the most articles and has gained the highest h -index (28). The major hot topics that employ analytic network process are sustainability, environmental management and supply chain management. In 2015, the United Nation (UN) launched 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as part of an Agenda to be achieved by 2030. The target is having a global plan of action, aiming at universal peace and social and environmental justice. For this, 169 goals were drawn. The objective of this research is to discuss the congruence between mining activity and the SDG, starting from experiences of the scientific literature and the observation of one mining activity. For this purpose, the Web of Science and Scopus databases were used, with the keywords "sustainable development goals" and "mining". The Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) Portal was used to search papers that relate each one of the SDG to mining. Visits were made to three crushed stone mining industries, located in Monsenhor Gil, Piauí, Brazil, in order to follow the production process of the diabase mineral. From the research in the literature, it was possible to verify that there are several possibilities of reaching the 17 SDG in the mining sector, such as in the promotion of jobs (SDG 8), contributing to the reduction of poverty (SDG 1) and hunger (SDG 2), among others. From the visits, it was observed that the compliance with SDG related to the promotion of jobs, the improvement of income for community's residents, and the infrastructure of the environment are common to all mining or business activities that reach remote and poor areas. This is clear when identifying mining regions that have lost their economic importance once the local development ceases. If the visited industries left the place, it would cause great loss to the residents that depend on them for their jobs. There is a small number of women on the staff, setting up disrespect for SDG 5 regarding the achievement of gender equality. The nature of the activity itself does not justify the asymmetry that possibly happened under the influence of a sexist culture that imposes what is a man's job or a woman's job. Another point is the lack of investment in inclusive education for employees and for residents of the region. In addition, these industries do not recover the degraded areas, compromising the achievement of SDG 13, in regard to combat climate change and its impacts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Because of the vast number of academic products with focus on sustainability being currently generated, it is becoming exceedingly difficult and time-consuming to perform accurate literature reviews that have actual relationship with such a topic and correctly reflect its state of the art. Thus, this work proposes a comprehensive Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design as a novel approach for collecting the body of contributions for any given research field in general and sustainability in particular. This design is guided by a semi-automated procedure that aims at incorporating the best automation features of earlier SLRs and involves available scientific databases, e.g., Scopus and Web of Science. The results of the proposed SLR design include bibliometric analyses, a list of researcher and institution networks, and a qualitative assessment of practical applications of the field of interest. Moreover, the proposed semi-automated approach allows for the inclusion of subject categorization based on the generation of author-density maps and keyword co-occurrence networks. For illustration, the semi-automated SLR design is implemented by thoroughly reviewing the contributions pertaining to the P-graph (Process Graph) framework with a focus on sustainability. The P-graph framework has been applied to multiple areas, such as network design, optimization, and system integration; in particular, the framework has proven to be useful for the development of sustainable systems. Upon execution, the semi-automated SLR design collected 284 contributions related to P-graph, of which 139 were classified as sustainability-related, and further partitioned into specific categories. It is expected that the proposed semi-automated SLR design will help researchers in the sustainability community accelerate the generation of works in that area by rapidly generating accurate literature reviews. To clarify the current situation, hotspots, and development trends, in the field of climate change adaptation, we analysed a massive literature dataset from the Web of Science database by bibliometric method. By characterising the data about each publication, the result indicate that the field of climate change adaptation has entered a stage of rapid development. The USA occupies a leading position in terms of comprehensive strength with the largest publications output as well as a greater influence therewith. The most productive journal, author, and institution are Climatic Change, Ford JD from Canada, and The Chinese Academy of Science, respectively. Collaboration in this field continues to strengthen, but the growth rates at national levels are relatively low. In addition, the frequency and co-occurrence analysis of keywords reveals ten important research topics: climate change, adaptation, vulnerability, ecosystem, socio-economic system, agriculture, region, extreme event, mitigation, and sustainability, as the foci of climate change adaptation. “Vulnerability” is in a core position in all keywords with the strongest betweenness therein. Recently, lithium-ion battery storage system has become increasingly popular due to its enormous potential and capacity in renewable energy integration and e-mobility applications leading to achieve global carbon neutrality by 2050. However, the performance of lithium-ion batteries has been affected due to the material degradation as well as varying environmental conditions. Thus, this paper presents analytical evaluation, aiming to investigate the advancement on the state-of-the-art of lithium-ion battery material potential that has been mapped from the hot papers. Accordingly, 73 hot papers (top 0.1% highly cited) have been found using the keyword search on lithium-ion batteries from the Web of Science database published in last 2 years between 2019 and 2021. These hot papers are evaluated using various key factors, including state-of-the-art of lithium-ion battery materials followed by analytical evaluation. The analytical assessment comprises numerous crucial aspects including keyword co-occurrence network analysis, distribution of articles over countries, journals, research types, and subject categories. Moreover, the review explores the concerns, issues and challenges to identify the existing research gaps. Circular economy (CE) is emerging in the construction industry because it attempts to substitute the linear economy model and promote sustainable development. While the CE principles have been applied at different scales, the construction industry's research efforts and practicalities remain limited and fragile. This study aimed at understanding the levels of circularity in the construction industry with a view to formulate viable recommendations required for achieving higher degrees of circularity. This aim is achieved by learning essential lessons from the manufacturing sector, which is considered one of CE's pioneering industries. In this paper, a scientometric review of CE research within the construction and manufacturing sectors was performed. The science mapping method was applied to quantitatively analyse relevant publications retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science databases. The results suggested that the construction industry centres on recycling and reuse as the main "R" strategies, while the manufacturing industry tends to achieve higher levels of circularity due to broader implementation of remanufacturing and industrial symbiosis (IS). The content analysis of some mainstream articles further identified the potential of adopting remanufacturing and IS in the construction sector. The findings suggested that higher levels of circularity in construction could be attained through the use of remanufactured components and recycled non-construction & demolition waste (CDW). An action plan comprising regulatory pull/push, business-driven, and technological push measures was formulated to guide researchers and practitioners to pursue looking-forward CE strategies. This review draws useful lessons from other sectors and offers fresh insight into ways of actualising circular construction. Regions are the most important administrative units of the EU's development policies and so far, have been extensively used for framing and implementing strategic priorities. However, when it comes to regional implementation of the circular economy (CE), there is lack of systematicity both in academic literature and policy documents. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to improve the understanding of the regional adoption of CE, by systematically reviewing and synthesises the current academic literature in this emerging field, unveiling research gaps and discussing a future research agenda. The review was conducted by identifying relevant academic papers from leading journals using the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Overall, 82 relevant papers were identified through the review, which proceeded to descriptive, bibliometric and content analysis. This study has found that generally, the adoption of the circular economy on the regional level is underexplored, which was supported by the dearth of relevant academic contributions detected at the beginning of the process. To the best of the researchers' knowledge, this is the first attempt to provide a holistic systematic literature review in the regional circular economy domain. Vehicle sharing, electrification, and automation, as the triple revolutions in urban transportation, have been under debate towards a new transport paradigm. In this regard, carsharing services, as a potential solution for sustainable urban transport, have gained momentum within the context of sustainable cities in recent years. This research, as the first attempt in the literature, aims to render a comprehensive map of the body of knowledge in the carsharing field of research through conducting a systematic bibliometric analysis. To achieve that, a total of 729 peer-reviewed journal articles from the Web of Science database were scrutinized using keyword, text mining, and bibliographic coupling analyses. The analyses revealed four main research themes building the carsharing literature, including (1) collaborative consumption and carsharing business models development in the context of sustainable urban transport, (2) carsharing adoption with a special focus on user behavior, intention, and preferences, (3) carsharing operational challenges, considering infrastructure and fleet management, and (4) technological advancement towards deployment of shared autonomous vehicles and mobility as a service. The results showed that the carsharing literature lacks (i) a well-established and comprehensive long-term sustainability assessment framework, (ii) inclusive and integrative marketing and training plans, as well as effective incentives, (iii) a holistic analysis of the role of carsharing in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, (iv) reliable circular economy indicators designed to measure the circularity of carsharing to help transitioning towards a circular economy, and (v) a timely broad analysis on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic and the future of carsharing post pandemic era, which call for more investigations in the future. In recent years, the concept of a circular economy (CE) has gained importance and attracted significant attention among scholars and practitioners. Research that examines the role of modern technologies in supporting the transition from a linear economy to the CE is therefore highly needed. This article analyzes and classifies existing research at the intersection of the CE and the Internet of Things (IoT), as an enabling technology. While studies on both concepts have proliferated, there is a lack of research that systematizes the literature and clarifies the relationship between the IoT and the CE. In order to achieve this, we reviewed a total of 170 academic articles published between 2007 and 2021 from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Based on the coding of keywords, four categories can be identified: (1) IoT-related technologies in the CE context, (2) enablers of IoT in the CE, (3) barriers to IoT adoption in the CE, and (4) the impacts of the IoT on the sustainability of (circular) economies. The current study is the first attempt to use a keyword coding approach to better understand IoT research in the CE domain. The review findings identify important drivers and enablers and provide a structured framework for research in this field. Due to the growing concerns of emissions from the shipping industry, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has set strategies to reduce the CO 2 intensity by 40% in 2030 and cut total GHGs emissions by at least 50% by 2050, with 2008 as a baseline. Clean alternative marine fuels are widely recognized and used as a viable solution for reducing ship-related air pollution. Several studies including traditional reviews have been conducted to examine the literature on cleaner alternative marine fuels and their role in decarbonizing the shipping sector. However, these studies fail to unpack the main research actors, evolutionary nuances, and emerging research hotspots in this field. To quantitatively and qualitatively explore this research field, the current study adopts a bibliometric analysis. 583 eligible documents published from 2000 to 2020 were retrieved and merged from the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus databases, and analyzed with the R-studio bibliometrix package (Biblioshiny). Results revealed that the field is growing significantly at a growth rate of 15.8%, with key contributions to the field originating from the USA. Liquified Natural Gas has been identified as the most researched alternative shipping fuel. However, recent trends show researchers turning their attention towards methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen fuels. By analyzing the frequently used keywords and relevant articles, it became clear that the research community has focused mainly on the potential of different alternative fuels as a replacement to conventional marine fuels to limit the emissions from the shipping sector from an environmental, technical, and economic perspective. The explosive growth of green building (GB) research over the past few decades has posed great challenges for researchers to effectively grasp the holistic GB research status. This paper presents a text mining based method to identify the key research topics and trends from the existing abundant GB research publications. In total, 2421 articles are retrieved from the Web of Science core database. Subsequently, three mutually integrated text mining techniques, including the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) modeling, Word2vec, and community network analysis, are employed for knowledge discovery. Results show that the number of GB research topics increased from 1990 to 2020, while design optimization and energy efficient measures have always been the research hotspots. The identified research themes are further categorized into nine general research areas, including GB design, energy saving, GB rating system, life cycle evaluation, incentive and hindrances, post-occupancy evaluation, GB technologies, GB market, and management aspects of GB. Based on the revealed emerging research themes in recent ten years, three research directions are further proposed, such as green building market, employment of digital technologies, and safety risks in GB projects. This research provides an applicable quantitative method to efficiently identify the research topics from the extensive research publications and establishes a comprehensive knowledge framework of the GB research status at different stages. Improving the efficiency of building energy systems is crucial to reach a goal related to the high – performance building, particularly in the space heating and air - cooling domain, which are considered as leading energy consumption systems in buildings. Current trends in the smart building paradigm allowed efficient implementation of user-centric approach in personal thermal comfort modelling. The potential technological solutions in that sense can bring various benefits leading towards improvement of the building energy performance. Existing papers published in the Scopus and Web of Science database have been reviewed in order to investigate a state of the art related to experimental practices in the development and application of monitoring technologies for personal thermal comfort. Consequently, the work brings insights in some of the main research findings in the area focusing on (I) inputs that affect personal thermal comfort, (II) smart technologies and methods used for sensing and the detection of defined inputs and (III) insights into the approaches of collected data processing. Parameters considered in reviewed literature rely on environmental and personal variables. Based on the conducted review, it can be indicated that room air temperature, relative humidity, air velocity and mean radiant temperature (MRT) are frequently used environmental parameters in thermal comfort modelling. Among user – related indicators in the considered literature, skin temperature (hands, face) and metabolic rate (MET) are found to be the most common, followed by clothing insulation (CLO) and heart rate data. Some additional parameters are also found to be influenced by thermal comfort of individual (skin conductance, brain activity, heat flux, sweat rate, aural temperature, body core temperature). Subjective response from users is still unavoidable and recorded through questionnaires. The results of review indicated that technological solutions for detection of thermal comfort parameters in data-driven models are mainly based on network of connected sensors, and can be divided into camera-based technologies, wearable devices and connected sensor systems. Finally, open questions and gaps that inquire further research were also detected and discussed in detail. Developing countries adopt policies to reduce the negative impacts of large amount of waste generated by accelerated industrialization and rapid urbanization, but these actions are far from establishing procedures that meet society's needs, especially regarding the management of municipal solid waste (MSW), which requires the cooperation of numerous stakeholders, and a broad plan of action, in terms of sustainability cities' targets and policies. In this sense, sustainable and integrated solid waste management (S-ISWM) emerges as a solution to address the growing challenges of disposing of MSW in developing countries municipalities. However, to guide S-ISWM implementation there still a need of a framework with a multi-stakeholder and holistic perspective of the MSW management, considering the barriers and critical success factors (CSFs) to achieve it. To this end, a systematic literature review using the PRISMA diagram on the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and then, a content analysis of 75 articles, which met the eligibility criteria, were carried out. As a result, were identified eight barriers, 11 CSFs, which were grouped according to five pillars - public policies, disposal techniques, legal aspects, public-private partnership (PPP) and energy recovery – that affect the municipal S-ISWM and were pointed out ways of implementing these factors in practice. Finally, it was proposed a management artifact – a framework towards S-ISWM - based on state-of-the-art CSFs and barriers, mainly oriented to waste to energy, to the developing countries municipalities. This study offers theoretical, practical, and political implications, serving as a stimulus for the development of public policies with a multidisciplinary approach, providing environmental, economic, and societal contributions, and, thus, encouraging the achievement of the eleventh and the twelfth sustainable development goals. The growing concern about the environmental future of the Planet urges us to foster eco-innovation research and implementation in companies. Access to external knowledge, R&D collaboration, and open innovation are recognized as essential drivers of eco-innovation. Despite the growing interest, research on the topic is still scarce. The present article strives to clarify the concept of Open Eco-innovation, shows its importance, and maps existing research applying a systematic approach to a literature review, bibliometric and science mapping analysis, using citations from Web of Science and Scopus databases. The results give an overview of academic discussions that led to the topic of Open Eco-innovation, demonstrate a growing interest from the scientific community, and reveal comprehensive bibliometric data concerning leading authors, research groups, affiliations, and most notable publishers and publications. This paper conducts a bibliometric analysis of servitization and PSS by examining 690 selected papers from Web of Science database. Knowledge mapping techniques including collaboration analysis, co-citation analysis and keywords co-occurrence analysis methods are adopted in the bibliometric analysis. Our findings show that China and England are the top two countries publishing more papers, and Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark keep tight collaboration relationships with other regions. We also find that some active researchers play critical roles as interfaces to connect different research groups in the servitization and PSS fields. Some authors of highly cited papers in earlier years gradually turned to other research directions. In addition, 'Digital PSS and servitization', and 'territorial servitization' are found to be emerging trends in recent years. Although the earlier sustainability topics in the servitization field are more associated with eco-design and lifecycle extension, they gradually shift to sustainable business models in recent years. Although researchers have investigated the concept of self-healing asphalt materials for decades, only recently has scientific interest in methods triggering self-healing properties of asphalt increased. Self-healing technologies are expected to increase the service life of materials and reduce their maintenance, decreasing raw materials consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and negative effects of construction on climate change. Self-healing of asphalt materials has the potential to make important changes in the road construction materials industry, making it more sustainable; however, the literature has not exactly reported a quantitative analysis of the progress or evolution of this scientific topic. Bibliometric and science mapping analyses are methodologies to study through quantitative analysis, the scientific evolution of any knowledge area. Hence, this paper presents a bibliometric and science mapping analysis of the self-healing technology of 292 selected documents found in widely accepted scientific databases, using SciMAT open access software. In addition, the article presents a description of the most important articles based on SciMAT analysis. The results of the study show that the production of documents related to self-healing has been growing since 1994, reaching a peak in 2018 with 60 published articles (21% of the total). In addition, China and the USA have an outstanding performance in the production of documents followed by the Netherlands, UK, Spain, and Chile, although the European continent has the largest number of countries actively developing this research area. The analysis also showed that the most productive authors in the topic of study are Wu, S.P., Little, D.N., Lytton, R.L., and Garcia, A. In addition, analysis showed an increasing development of self-healing pavements topics in new and more specific research areas such as microwave heating, nanocomposites, and microcapsules. Overall, this analysis shows that self-healing asphalt materials technology has been catching the scientific interest of many researchers in recent years; hence, there are many techniques and areas that are being developed and are expanding the branches and different niches in this research area. Therefore, opportunities for researchers to work in this field are developing and are also far from reaching a stage of maturity. This study undertakes an empirical analysis of the circular economy (CE) literature published between 2000 and 2019 and articulates the key research themes on the basis of content analysis and citation mapping of the top-cited CE-related articles. HistCite software was used to perform bibliometric citation meta-analysis on a sample of 2279 articles, obtained from the ISI Web of Science database, having 89,995 global cited references. Influential journals, articles, yearly trends, institutions, and authors in CE research were identified and presented in this study. Content analysis and citation mapping of the top-cited 33 articles revealed the following key research themes: 1) CE assessment methods and frameworks, 2) CE concept and sustainability, 3) Inter-disciplinary research in circular context, 4) CE adoption – country, region or firm level, 5) CE recycling, recovery, and reuse, 6) CE and environmental economics, 7) CE and eco-industrial parks, 8) CE and resource life extension, 9) CE and design of circular products and 10) CE rebound. Subsequently, a knowledge synthesis approach was applied to develop an integrated, multi-dimensional conceptual framework depicting the linkage between CE drivers, stakeholders, CE practice indicators, and performance measures. Base-of-the-Pyramid (BoP) is a sustainable proposition that calls on private businesses to alleviate public poverty while fulfilling their own interests. Previous studies show the significance of BoP in the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals. Particularly, in the manner of cooperating with people at the bottom of socio-economic pyramid, multinational enterprises can alleviate public poverty and thus promoting sustainable development at the BoP regions. However, the general state and trend of sustainable development-related studies in the BoP domain are not clear; the popular keywords and theoretical orientations have yet to been determined. This study aims to address these issues by analyzing 273 high-impact articles in the related field from the Web of Science database between 2002 and 2018. A mixed review method is adopted, which combines quantitative bibliometric analysis with qualitative content analysis. The results show that an increasing number of sustainable development-related studies are emerging from the BoP domain, particularly concerning social and economic sustainability in developing countries (or regions). Four theoretical orientations are identified, namely subsistence market, sustainable solution, corporate social responsibility and inclusive business. The circular bioeconomy represents an opportunity of nearly USD $8 trillion until 2030. However, innovative business models are needed for a circular bioeconomy to succeed. What mostly lacks in the body of research on business models for the circular bioeconomy, and what marks the originality of the present article, is summarizing the key aspects that need to be considered when designing, implementing and managing businesses in a circular bioeconomy. Therefore, this study's aim is twofold (i) to reveal key aspects for implementing and managing business models for a circular bioeconomy; and (ii) to point out the issues that lack further research on the theme, based on the existing literature. A systematic literature review was conducted on the Science Direct, Scopus and Web of Science databases. Key aspects for implementing and managing business models were identified according to the business model Canvas framework. Key aspects are related to the role of innovation and new markets, taking the customer perspective into account in the value creation process and being close to customers, adequate management of logistics and feedstock collection systems, being aware of different routes for valuing biomass, seeking technological development, building resilient value chains, and focusing on value creation to cover costs. Issues that need addressing in the existing literature include product-service-systems, take back-systems, seasonal availability of resources, social impacts, rebound effects, and aquatic activities. This paper aims to investigate how the sustainable development is pursued by manufacturing companies according to the extant literature, especially by focusing on Circular Economy (CE) paradigm that is considered one of the major drivers for sustainability. Indeed, this research aims to study how CE principles have been adopted in the manufacturing sector leading towards the creation of Circular Manufacturing (CM) strategies. To achieve this goal, a systematic literature review has been conducted. Scopus and Web of Science are the scientific databases used for the review process. The 215 papers selected for the review were analysed through a theoretical framework developed by the authors. This framework enabled to individualize the research streams and the perspectives through which CE strategies adopted by manufacturers have been studied in the extant scientific literature. These research streams are technologies, and evaluation methods and models. Besides, both of these two are studied under two different lenses since they both are mutually considered supportive tools to shift or to maintain a circular system. To conclude, one of the major contributions of this literature review is to provide a clearer definition of CM and to figure out how CM strategies have been addressed by academics in the scientific literature, with the final aim to reduce the confusion emerged in the extant literature around this concept. Sustainability has become a key factor in recent years. Countless methods have been developed to assess sustainability, such as the case of the Life Cycle Sustainability Analysis (LCSA). Thus, this article aims to identify and map the application of LCSA in the main scientific databases, through a process of bibliometric and systematic literature review. Therefore, a bibliographic portfolio that represents the publications of the LCSA was selected based on selection criteria, after which the bibliometric and systematic analyses were performed. The bibliometric analysis identified the temporal distribution of publications, journals, authors, and countries that contribute to the context, as well as a studies' keyword analysis. The systematic analysis was carried out by verifying the types of studies present in the bibliographic portfolio, the economic sectors and countries of applied studies localization, the indicators and methodologies used to evaluate each sustainability dimension, and the main methodologies for results final analyses were also verified. The selected bibliographic portfolio consisted of 105 publications, corresponding to the period 2008–2019. The results show that developed countries have a greater number of publications. However, China stands out with the highest number of publications. Most of the studies in the portfolio are developments of methodologies and applications in case studies. The applied studies covered several economic and global localization sectors. Moreover, it was found that there is a great variability of environmental, economic, and social indicators employed, as well as methodologies for analyzing the final results. For example, the main indicators were: eutrophication and acidification; electricity and operating and maintenance costs, and employment; and multi-criteria decision analysis (MDCA) was the most widely used methodology. This research makes several new contributions, providing academics and professionals with an overview of the application of LCSA, through scientific indexes and the main approaches of publications, as well as the perspectives of new research. The rapid technical evolution of additive manufacturing (AM) enables a new path to a circular economy using distributed recycling and production. This concept of Distributed Recycling via Additive Manufacturing (DRAM) is related to the use of recycled materials by means of mechanical recycling process in the 3D printing process chain. This paper aims to examine the current advances on thermoplastic recycling processes via additive manufacturing technologies. After proposing a closed recycling global chain for DRAM, a systematic literature review including 92 papers from 2009 to 2019 was performed using the scopus, web of science and springer databases. This work examines main topics from six stages (recovery, preparation, compounding, feedstock, printing, quality) of the proposed DRAM chain. The results suggested that few works have been done for the recovery and preparation stages, while a great progress has already been done for the other stages in order to validate the technical feasibility, environmental impact, and economic viability. Potential research paths in the pre-treatment of recycled material at local level and printing chain phases were identified in order to connect the development of DRAM with the circular economy ambition at micro, meso and macro level. The development of each stage proposed using the open source approach is a relevant path to scale DRAM to reach the full technical potential as a centerpiece of the circular economy. This article has reviewed the international research from the 20th century to the first half of 2019 on the terms "efficiency" and "local government". For this purpose, a bibliometric and a cluster analysis by fractional accounting have been carried out using two of the most important databases: Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus. The research found and studied 1222 documents from the WoS Core Collection and 2264 from Scopus. The results show a continuous increase in the number of published articles and citations during the whole period. It also found that the U.S., U.K, and China are the most productive countries with a predominance of North American and Asian organizations supporting and fostering researches. The principal contribution of this article is the analysis of keywords from 2011 to the first half of 2019. The trend shows a convergence on the concepts of efficiency and local government over the last few years, which are related to sustainability and natural environment. This research relates the theme of corporate sustainability to organizational capabilities from business strategy. The literature brings initial indications on the contribution of strategic organizational capabilities to corporate sustainability. However, these attempts are still incipient and non-structured. Thus, in order to explore different organizational capabilities that companies can develop to obtain sustainability benefits, this paper aims to propose an integrative framework that relates strategic organizational capabilities for sustainability and expected corporate sustainability benefits. For this, a systematic literature review was conducted, based on a paper sample of 88 publications extracted from the ISI Web of Science database. The paper also develops a descriptive overview of the subject, presenting the main gaps and a research agenda. The results showed that corporate sustainability is strongly related to business strategy and the ability of companies to develop specific capabilities. Thus, the understanding from academics and managers on what strategic organizational capabilities (OCs) consists and how they can be developed or improved is fundamental to reaching corporate sustainability. The paper presents some contributions. First, the integrative framework developed from the literature review comprises seven categories of organizational capabilities for sustainability (OCSs) related to ten categories of corporate sustainability benefits (CSBs). Second, the framework can contribute as a support tool for managers, by providing an explicit guideline on which capabilities that can be developed and/or improved in the organization to achieve a certainly expected sustainability benefit. Third, it is possible to identify OCS and CSB categories that have already been related in the literature and those that need further research. Fourth, the overview of the literature of OCS by bibliometric and cluster analyses allowed a broad understanding of how academics have addressed these themes over the years. Energy companies are increasingly pressured to address a broader set of social responsibilities that go beyond legal and environmental requirements, which motivates them to incorporate a holistic approach to their activities. To do so, many firms have adopted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a response to a diversity of pressures but also as a framework that enables them to prevent and manage risks and be proactive in the context of climate change. While the drivers behind CSR have been thoroughly studied, the specific motivations for energy companies to adopt CSR seems to be missing in the literature. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to review the literature in order to identify and categorize the drivers that motivate energy companies to adopt CSR. To do so, a systematic literature review is conducted that covers all the academic publications from 1990 to 2018 available in four scientific databases and focusing on CSR in the energy sector. The findings indicate that five internal drivers, three connecting drivers, and four external drivers can be identified in the literature as motivations for energy companies to adopt CSR. In addition, it is found that energy companies have a responsive or proactive approach towards the implementation of CSR. This article contributes to the literature by providing a broad systematic review of the academic publications on the topic and by identifying and categorizing the different drivers for CSR implementation that have been pointed out by the scholars in the sample. The practical contributions of this research come from presenting the drivers that motivate energy companies to adopt CSR, which provides understanding of the rationale behind responsible business practices and can translate into positive implications for the energy sector in terms of governance, legislation, and innovative business frameworks. This study can be useful for scholars and practitioners alike because it outlines the most relevant lines of research on the topic and provides a synthesis of the literature that highlights research gaps as well as trends. Industrial manufacturing is the largest end-use sector in terms of both final energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions (more than 30% of the total); its increase is rapidly altering the world climate. The need to mitigate the environmental impacts of manufacturing processes makes energy efficiency a key success factor for sustainable production. Accordingly, the scientific community's interest in energy management has grown considerably, resulting in several literature reviews on energy modelling and production systems analysis, emissions calculation, sustainability tools and benchmarking techniques. However, a comprehensive analysis of methods and tools aimed at improving energy awareness and assessing their effects on energy efficiency is lacking. To address this gap, this paper undertakes a systematic literature review of energy assessment methods and tools. From the 1367 papers retrieved by searching scientific literature databases, 64 scientific articles met the inclusion criteria and were analysed in detail. The study aims to provide scholars with a picture of the current state of scientific research and to identify the scientific works that could help industry practitioners in energy management. Following the ISO 50001 framework, the methods and tools were divided into three main groups (i.e. energy analysis, energy evaluation and energy-saving measures methods) and the specific findings relating to each group were synthesized.
