Background: Aneurysm of a coronary artery branch with a fistula is extremely rare. Here, we present a case of giant aneurysm of the left circumflex artery branch with a fistula to the coronary sinus treated successfully with aneurysmectomy.Case Presentation: A 58-year-old woman was referred to our hospital due to an abnormal pericardial mass found by multidetector computed tomography. Imaging examination revealed a dilated left circumflex artery branch with a 30-mm aneurysm. Coronary angiography confirmed a left circumflex artery branch aneurysm with a fistula to the coronary sinus. As percutaneous occlusion of the aneurysm by catheterization was considered unsuccessful, the aneurysm was resected, and the fistula was occluded surgically with excellent outcome. Pathological examination suggested that congenital factors may have contributed to the development of the aneurysm. Computed tomography showed no recurrence of the aneurysm at 1-year postoperative follow-up.Conclusions: We presented a case of giant aneurysm of the left circumflex artery branch with a fistula to the coronary sinus. This is the first report of the combination of a giant coronary artery branch aneurysm with a fistula to the coronary sinus. Benign cardiac neoplasms are relatively uncommon. Cardiac leiomyomas are usually diagnosed as a benign metastasizing leiomyoma or as a part of intravenous leiomyomatosis spectrum. Primary cardiac leiomyomas are extremely rare and should be diagnosed after ruling out the involvement of systemic leiomyomas. Only nine cases were found in the literature that described De novo occurrence of primary intra-cardiac leiomyoma. In this study, we present a case of 60-year-old female patient with a large pedunculated mass located in the left ventricle. Histopathology examination and immunohistochemistry aid confirmed the diagnosis of benign leiomyoma. No evidence of extra cardiac lesions was detected in the patient. The patient remained healthy with no signs of recurrence four years after the surgical resection. Benign cardiac tumors are not often seen, but when they do occur, they can present a serious risk to life. This is particularly significant because these tumors can detach and cause embolization, leading to the development of strokes. Moreover, these individuals do not show any clinical symptoms, making their detection quite challenging. When there is a suspicion, it is advised to utilize echocardiography and other imaging techniques to verify the presence of a tumor. Background: Primary cardiac myxofibrosarcoma is rare and commonly occurs in the left atrium. Myxofibrosarcoma is aggressive and has a high mortality rate due to its high rate of recurrence. Complete surgical resection is considered important; however, effective treatment options have not been established. Case presentation: We report the case of a 75-year-old woman who developed a myxofibrosarcoma spreading to the left atrium and pericardium. We performed surgical resection of the tumor to prevent sudden death due to mitral valve obstruction or cerebral infarction due to embolism of the scattered mass. However, we were unable to complete the resection of the tumors. The patient developed brain metastasis 2 months after surgery and eventually died due to brain hemorrhage 3 months after surgery. Conclusions: In this report, we described a rare case of primary cardiac myxofibrosarcoma located not only in the left atrium but also in the pericardium. Considering preoperative laboratory findings, surgical and adjuvant therapy, and the patient's wishes are important for the best therapeutic course for an individual. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Background The aim was to present a 35-year-old female patient with diagnosis of monophasic primary pericardial synovial sarcoma (PSS) with cytopathological findings. Case Presentation The case with back pain, palpitation and weakness, was diagnosed with pericardial effusion and suspicious mass adjacent to right heart in ultrasonography. Computerized tomography showed mass 12 × 11 × 6.5 cm in size, located in right mid-anterior pericardial area, with heterogeneous internal structure, heterogeneously contrasting right heart and prominent pressure on superior vena cava. Cytopathology of pericardial effusion showed monotonous cells with oval-spindle vesicular nuclei, less amphophilic cytoplasm, evenly distributed chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. The pericardial mass was resected incompletely, spindle cell mesenchymal tumor with hypercellular fascicular structure and with infiltrative margins, containing a small amount of loose myxoid stroma, occasionally necrotic areas was observed histopathologically. Immunohistochemical positive reaction was for vimentin, Bcl-2, TLE-1. Accordingly, the case was diagnosed with monophasic PSS. Conclusions This case of monophasic primary PSS was an extremely rare malignancy diagnosed with the cytopathological findings.

Background: Cavernous hemangioma is a rare benign tumor which can sometimes mimic the clinical presentation and radiological findings of malignant tumors. Here we present a rare presentation of cavernous hemangioma in the mediastinum (CHM), along with a literature review among the main databases. Case presentation: We present a 48-year-old male who had suffered from persistent cough as the sole symptom of an anterior CHM. Computed tomography scan demonstrated a 12.5 × 10.8 cm mass in the anterior mediastinum. The mass was surgically resected, and histopathological evaluation established the diagnosis of CHM. The patient was discharged in good condition, in which during his four-month follow-up period, no recurrence of the tumor has been observed. Conclusion: Although cavernous hemangioma rarely present in the mediastinum, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of mediastinal tumors. However, our review of literature demonstrated a female dominance and average age of 40 years, with a 52% mortality rate based on previous reports. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We describe a case of 68-year-old woman which was admitted to our hospital for mitral valve replacement (MVR), in whom acute compresion of the vena cava inferior developed after repair of lacerated atrio-caval junction with hemostatic tissue sealant, biologic glue (BioGlue, Cryolife, inc, Kennesaw, Ga).
