Abstract

Extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and magnetic extended x-ray absorption fine structure (MEXAFS) measurements are reported, on 30 monolayer (ML) Fe and Co films on Cu(001) substrates. MEXAFS oscillations were determined up to 500 eV above the edge corresponding to 11.5 A(super-1) in k space. Experimental data of Fe are compared with multiple-scattering calculations.
