The world is still under the threat of different strains of the coronavirus and the pandemic situation is far from over. The method, that is widely used for the detection of COVID-19 is Reverse Transcription Polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), which is a time-consuming method and is prone to manual errors, and has poor precision. Although many nations across the globe have begun the mass immunization procedure, the COVID-19 vaccine will take a long time to reach everyone. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) and computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) has been used in the domain of medical imaging for a long period. It is quite evident that the use of CAD in the detection of COVID-19 is inevitable. The main objective of this paper is to use convolutional neural network (CNN) and a novel feature selection technique to analyze Chest X-Ray (CXR) images for the detection of COVID-19. We propose a novel two-tier feature selection method, which increases the accuracy of the overall classification model used for screening COVID-19 CXRs. Filter feature selection models are often more effective than wrapper methods as wrapper methods tend to be computationally more expensive and are not useful for large datasets dealing with a large number of features. However, most filter methods do not take into consideration how a group of features would work together, rather they just look at the features individually and decide on a score. We have used approximate Shapley value, a concept of Coalition game theory, to deal with this problem. Further, in the case of a large dataset, it is important to work with shorter embeddings of the features. We have used CUR decomposition and Nystrom sampling to further reduce the feature space. To check the efficacy of this two-tier feature selection method, we have applied it to the features extracted by three standard deep learning models, namely VGG16, Xception and InceptionV3, where the features have been extracted from the CXR images of COVID-19 datasets and we have found that the selection procedure works quite well for the features extracted by Xception and InceptionV3. Image classification is getting more attention in the area of computer vision. During the past few years, a lot of research has been done on image classification using classical machine learning and deep learning techniques. Presently, deep learning-based techniques have given stupendous results. The performance of a classification system depends on the quality of features extracted from an image. The better is the quality of extracted features, the more the accuracy will be. Although, numerous deep learning-based methods have shown enormous performance in image classification, still due to various challenges deep learning methods are not able to extract all the important information from the image. This results in a reduction in overall classification accuracy. The goal of the present research is to improve the image classification performance by combining the deep features extracted using popular deep convolutional neural network, VGG19, and various handcrafted feature extraction methods, i.e., SIFT, SURF, ORB, and Shi-Tomasi corner detector algorithm. Further, the extracted features from these methods are classified using various machine learning classification methods, i.e., Gaussian Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBClassifier) classifier. The experiment is carried out on a benchmark dataset Caltech-101. The experimental results indicate that Random Forest using the combined features give 93.73% accuracy and outperforms other classifiers and methods proposed by other authors. The paper concludes that a single feature extractor whether shallow or deep is not enough to achieve satisfactory results. So, a combined approach using deep learning features and traditional handcrafted features is better for image classification.

Multicriteria Decision Making (MCDM) has a huge role to play while ruling out one suitable alternative among a pool of alternatives governed by predefined multiple criteria. Some of the factors like imprecision, lack of information/data, etc., which are present in traditional MCDM processes have showcased their lack of efficiency and hence eventually it has paved the ways for the development of Fuzzy multicriteria decision making (FMCDM). In FMCDM processes, the decision makers can model most of the real-life phenomena by fuzzy information-based preferences. The availability of a wide literature on similarity measure (SM) emphasizes the vital role of SM of generalized fuzzy numbers (GFNs) to conduct accurate and precise decision making in FMCDM problems. Despite having few advantages, most of the existing approaches possessed a certain degree of counter intuitiveness and discrepancies. Thus, we have attempted to propose a novel SM for generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (GTrFNs) which could deliberately overcome the impediments associated with the earlier existing approaches. Moreover, a meticulous comparative study with the existing approaches is also presented. This paper provides us with an improved method to obtain the similarity values between GTrFNs and the proposed SM consists of calculating the prominent features of fuzzy numbers such as expected value and variance. We use fourteen different sets of GTrFNs, to compare the fruition of the present approach with the existing SM approaches. Furthermore, to show the utility and applicability of our proposed measure, we illustrate few practical scenarios such as the launching of an electronic gadget by a company, a problem of medical diagnosis and finally, a proper anti-virus mask selection in light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The obtained results with our proposed SM, for the mentioned FMCDM problems, are analytically correct and they depict the efficiency and novelty of the present article.

Different respiratory infections cause abnormal symptoms in lung parenchyma that show in chest computed tomography. Since December 2019, the SARS-COV-2 virus, which is the causative agent of COVID-19, has invaded the world causing high numbers of infections and deaths. The infection with SARS-COV-2 virus shows an abnormality in lung parenchyma that can be effectively detected using Computed Tomography (CT) imaging. In this paper, a novel computer aided framework (COV-CAF) is proposed for classifying the severity degree of the infection from 3D Chest Volumes. COV-CAF fuses traditional and deep learning approaches. The proposed COV-CAF consists of two phases: the preparatory phase and the feature analysis and classification phase. The preparatory phase handles 3D-CT volumes and presents an effective cut choice strategy for choosing informative CT slices. The feature analysis and classification phase incorporate fuzzy clustering for automatic Region of Interest (RoI) segmentation and feature fusion. In feature fusion, automatic features are extracted from a newly introduced Convolution Neural Network (Norm-VGG16) and are fused with spatial hand-crafted features extracted from segmented RoI. Experiments are conducted on MosMedData: Chest CT Scans with COVID-19 Related Findings with COVID-19 severity classes and SARS-COV-2 CT-Scan benchmark datasets. The proposed COV-CAF achieved remarkable results on both datasets. On MosMedData dataset, it achieved an overall accuracy of 97.76% and average sensitivity of 96.73%, while on SARS-COV-2 CT-Scan dataset it achieves an overall accuracy and sensitivity 97.59% and 98.41% respectively.

Through the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, the society has deeply realized the inevitability and necessity of building a community that shares the future of mankind. In the face of severely complex international trends and domestic and international economic conditions, artificial intelligence plays an important auxiliary role in the regular prevention and management of COVID-19. In order to effectively correspond to the formalized extensional prevention and control theory, it is essential to use coordination models, rule systems, prevention and control mechanisms, and governance landscapes to build artificial intelligence corresponding systems. This article uses a basic genetic algorithm to realize the robot path plan. This mainly includes the establishment of environmental models, the discovery of chromosomes and the determination of coding methods, the selection and design of fitness functions, and related designs. This paper proposes a new adaptive adjustment mode based on the basic genetic algorithm, which improves the selection and mutation operation, and improves the optimization efficiency of the genetic algorithm. Building an artificial intelligence response system may face various technical risks and governance dilemmas. Only by improving the rule system of artificial intelligence, creating an epidemic prevention and control ecology, conserving the public spirit of the whole people, strengthening the governance of the source of crisis, and further improving the new momentum of economic and social development and public safety. The modernization of governance capabilities can better respond to the current complex situation.
