Background: Intradermotherapy is considered a minimally invasive procedure, which works through applications of diluted pharmacological drugs, resulting in facial rejuvenation. Methods: 18 women were divided equally into two groups and evaluated before and after treatment (at 45 and 90 days). Four applications were made to the facial region at 15-day intervals; for group 1, traditional injections were given to introduce the anti-ageing substance, and, for group 2, a placebo intervention (0.9% saline application) was given. Results: In the analysis of the group 1 photos, greater filling of the nasogenian groove was observed after two sessions, and the presence of less deep wrinkles in the perioral area was also observed after four treatment sessions. Subjects in both groups complained of pain during the application, even with the use of anaesthetic. Most of the volunteers in group 1 said that the texture of the skin seemed much firmer and classified the therapy as an ‘excellent treatment’. Conclusion: Intradermotherapy shows favourable results in the treatment of facial rejuvenation in women, which is more evident 90 days after the initial application.

In the author's experience, of the many treatments available for this indication, mesotherapy is highly effective for both the prevention and treatment of hair loss. Mesotherapy specifically targets the site of pathology and delivers therapies directly to it. The substances injected into the scalp include mixtures of natural plant extracts, homoeopathic agents, vitamins, vasodilators and medications which stimulate hair growth. As the mesotherapy cocktail reaches the target directly, avoiding metabolism by the digestive system, doses can be minimal. In this article, the author, who has been treating various hair conditions for 10 years, provides background information on hair anatomy, the hair growth cycle, hair loss, products commonly used and techniques of administration. She will also reflect on her personal experience with clients using a random sample of 50 clients. Descriptive study results are presented in this article, and the data presented can be interpreted as inferring that the treatment is associated with a high level of client satisfaction and is well tolerated.

The aim of this case study is to identify and justify the choice of an aesthetic treatment for early photoageing and fine lines on the face, and use evidence to support this clinical decision. The pre- and post-treatment regimens will be appraised by the author, who willl also discuss the professional responsibilities involved in the treatment process, including legislation, ethical issues, patient safety and treatment management. Relevant research and clinical papers will be discussed to support the claims made in this article. In the case of the 28-year-old female the author treated, she chose to administer mesotherapy; this is a nonsurgical procedure which is considered to be an associate treatment within the practice of cosmetic medicine. Mesotherapy has a two-fold action: nourishing the upper skin layers to provide maximal physiological function, and promoting the stimulation of fibroblasts to increase collagen secretion.

Mesotherapy is a skin rejuvenation procedure that has gained popularity in recent years. The products that are used for mesotherapy can be administered using multiple intradermal injections, either individually or through use of a dermal roller, which penetrates usually 192 needles at the same time, and also through topical creams. In this article, the author, who has gained experience in using this procedure over the past 10 years, provides information on the background to mesotherapy's development, the contents of the products used, techniques of administration, and her personal experiences with clients. A random sample from of 100 clients who received mesotherapy via individual injections was selected and descriptive data on their age, gender, ethnicity, and frequency of treatments are presented in this article. Use of the dermal roller technique is also presented, with similar data on the client group who had received this treatment at the same clinic. The data can be interpreted as inferring that the procedure of individual injections is particularly well tolerated by clients. However, further evidence is needed on client outcomes and satisfaction with this treatment, and its use in conjunction with procedures such as botulinum toxin and dermal fillers.
