•Repeat embolization for recurred aneurysm is not favored due to intrinsic technical challenge, and the projected durability of re-coiled aneurysms remains unclear.•Multivariable Cox regression analysis linked re-recanalization to initial saccular neck width and ADPKD.•Stent implantation and successful occlusion at second coiling were protective against further recanalization.•The more recent the second embolization was performed, the lower the risk of further recurrence.•Repeat coil embolization is a safe therapeutic option for recanalized cerebral aneurysms.

•GKS-induced intracranial aneurysm is very rare as a late side effect.•We report 4 cases of GKS-induced intracranial aneurysm, and conduct a literature review.•The incidence of bleeding in GKS-induced intracranial aneurysm was high, but the clinical outcomes after treatment were relatively excellent.•Long-term follow-up monitoring of intracranial aneurysm occurrence after GKS is important.
