Pedagogical work with delinquent young people is often challenging, also because their unfavourable early relationship with the pedagogues is restaged. Psychodynamically oriented pedagogical diagnostics can serve as a basis for joint pedagogical work, which makes intrapsychological and interpersonal deficits and resources of the client visible. It is to be expected that the clients can benefit from targeted pedagogical work that is always geared towards develop- mental support, and that the stimulation of psychosocialmaturation can even put themin a position to break off their delinquent career or give up their deviant behaviour. To this end, it is necessary for teachers to adopt a clear, appreciative and detached attitude in which there is a willingness to get involved in relationships.
