Abstract

The article focuses on the emerging impact of increases in urban freight. It highlights that as e-commerce continues to account for a larger proportion of urban goods flow, cities have an opportunity to set the tone for the future of the last mile of the urban delivery system. Topics include reducing stress on freight transportation systems with the freight demand management (FDM) initiatives; and maximizing the efficient use of limited curb space with the curb management initiatives .
