- Abstract
Tilting-pad gas journal bearing are widely used in the field of high-speed turbine machinery, especially in the special environment of low temperature. However, the performance is limited by structure, so a clear understanding of the field is particularly important. In this paper, finite volume method is used to simulate the three-dimensional flow field of high-speed tilting-pad gas bearing, then the effects of shaft speed, eccentricity and gas film thickness on the bearing capacity are studied. The simulation results show that the two factors of shaft speed and gas film clearance play a decisive role in producing sufficient bearing capacity of tilting tile radial gas bearings compared with other factors.
