Integrated effects of three different combination of aquatic macrophytes community (emergent, floating-leaved and submerged species) on river ecological restoration were investigated. LNH (Lythrum salicaria L, Nymphaea L and Hydrilla varticillata) showed the best performance in terms of COD removal yet LNV (Lythrum salicaria L, Nymphaea L and Vallisneria natans (Lour.) Hara) ranked first in terms of TN removal and TP removal. Due to the significant distinction of LNV on TN removal, LNV was suggested as the best option for river ecological restoration using combination of aquatic macrophytes community. A drastic reduction of pollutants in the early phase of treatment was observed for both COD and nutrition removal process. However, the timing of drastic reduction for COD was Day 5, while that of TN and TP was Day 17. Absorbtion and phytoremediation were the main process that contribute to the rapid removal of pollutants.

The International Convention on the Control and Management of Ballast Water and Sediment on Ships officially entered into force for our country on January 22, 2019. The Convention stipulates a series of requirements for the compliant discharge of ballast water. Compared with the ship’s own ballast water treatment facility, the ballast water bank-based treatment facility has the advantages of economy, environmental protection, and stability. In order to improve my country’s ability to implement the Ballast Water Convention and promote the construction of my country’s green ports, discussion and research on ballast water bank-based treatment technologies are necessary. This article describes the main methods of receiving and processing ship’s ballast on water and shore, analyzes the prospects and existing problems of receiving and processing ballast on water and on shore, and puts forward relevant suggestions for research on ballast water and shore treatment technology.

Behavioral response experiment of fish to mirror images is one of the main ways to test the social and aggressive behavior. The behavior changes of Zrbrafish Danio rerio in tanks contain different number of mirrors was tested in this study. The result indicated that the latency of zebrafish from entry tank which contains mirrors to start moving (P < 0.05) and their frequency of midline crossing (P < 0.001) were all lower than control group (contains no mirror), and decreased with increasing numbers of mirrors. The total swimming time of zebrafish in tank contains mirrors increased with increasing numbers of mirrors and significantly higher than control group (P < 0.001). Additionally, the time spent of zebrafish in side that contains mirrors significantly higher than the reverse side (P < 0.05), and this difference degree increased with increasing numbers of mirrors.

Marine ballast water is the main way of marine biological invasion and poses a serious threat to marine ecological security. In order to effectively prevent biological invasion and protect marine ecological safety, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted the International Convention for The Control and Management of Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments. In this paper, the progress of the implementation of the convention is briefly introduced, with emphasis on the detection methods of ballast water according to the requirements of regulation D-1 and regulation D-2, such as salinity analysis method, colored dissolved organic matter content analysis method, microscope detection method, chlorophyll A detection method, flow cytometry detection method and flow imaging detection method.
