This paper aims to propose a qualitative and quantitative fire and explosion risk assessment in home environments due to the use of LPG cylinder. The study focuses on all variables that can contribute to the fire and explosion risks, focusing on how trained and informed person influences events. Traditional risk assessment techniques cannot be incisive due to their static nature. To overcome this limit a System Dynamics simulation model, a risk assessment within systemic approach, is proposed. In fact this study suggests a conceptual model for risk assessment in home environment and demonstrate that adequate training, more information of occupants and the proper installation and maintenance of devices, reduce the number of accidents and deaths with encouraging results. The use of System Dynamic allows to understand how variables affect each other and evolve over time as well as their influence over. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
