Within the framework of andragogical approach, the authors focus on the conceptual effects of coaching methods in lifelong education to help adult learners to shift their perspectives and thereby maximize their performance. The article gives insights into the essence of person-to-person coaching technique for discovering greater autonomy in adult learning as a means of developing and using their potential to achieve external goals. The authors chiefly draw on principles of Andragogy and Adult Learning and Coaching Model because specific needs and requirements of adults could be integrated into focused learning by helping them imagine solutions and strategies, decide on the most effective way forward as well as review actions taken until their goals are achieved. As engagement and productivity are inseparably linked adult education is thought to benefit from performance, learning and development initiatives. In lifelong education autonomy is seen to emerge through vocational subject expertise which enables adult learners to develop their own understanding beyond conventional insights, professional coaching uses a range of communication skills (such as targeted restatements, listening, questioning, clarifying, etc.) to help learners unlock their potential and thereby discover different approaches to achieve their goals.
