We do three things in this paper: (1) study the analog of localization sequences (in the sense of algebraic $K$-theory of stable $\infty $-categories) for additive $\infty $-categories, (2) define the notion of nilpotent extensions for suitable $\infty $-categories and furnish interesting examples such as categorical square-zero extensions, and (3) use (1) and (2) to extend the Dundas–Goodwillie–McCarthy theorem for stable $\infty $-categories that are not monogenically generated (such as the stable $\infty $-category of Voevodsky’s motives or the stable $\infty $-category of perfect complexes on some algebraic stacks). The key input in our paper is Bondarko’s notion of weight structures, which provides a “ring-with-many-objects” analog of a connective $\mathbb{E}_1$-ring spectrum. As applications, we prove cdh descent results for truncating invariants of stacks extending the work by Hoyois–Krishna for homotopy $K$-theory and establish new cases of Blanc’s lattice conjecture.

In our previous paper, viewing $D^b(K(l))$ as a noncommutative curve, where $K(l)$ is the Kronecker quiver with $l$-arrows, we introduced categorical invariants via counting of noncommutative curves. Roughly, these invariants are sets of subcategories in a given category and their quotients. The noncommutative curve-counting invariants are obtained by restricting the subcategories to be equivalent to $D^b(K(l))$. The general definition, however, defines a larger class of invariants and many of them behave properly with respect to fully faithful functors. Here, after recalling the definition, we focus on the examples and extend our studies beyond counting. We enrich our invariants with the following structures: the inclusion of subcategories makes them partially ordered sets and considering semi-orthogonal pairs of subcategories as edges amounts to directed graphs. It turns out that the problem for counting $D^b(A_k)$ in $D^b(A_n)$ has a geometric combinatorial parallel - counting of maps between polygons. Estimating the numbers counting noncommutative curves in $D^b({\mathbb P}^2)$ modulo the group of autoequivalences, we prove finiteness and that the exact determining of these numbers leads to a solution of Markov problem. Via homological mirror symmetry, this gives a new approach to this problem. Regarding the structure of a partially ordered set mentioned above, we initiate intersection theory of noncommutative curves focusing on the case of noncommutative genus zero. The above-mentioned structure of a directed graph (and related simplicial complex) is a categorical analogue of the classical curve complex, introduced by Harvey and Harrer. The paper contains pictures of the graphs in many examples and also presents an approach to Markov conjecture via counting of subgraphs in a graph associated with $D^b({{\mathbb{P}}}^2)$. Some of the results proved here were announced in a previous work.

Projective varieties with ample cotangent bundle satisfy many notions of hyperbolicity, and one goal of this paper is to discuss generalizations to quasi-projective varieties. A major hurdle is that the naive generalization fails, i.e. the log cotangent bundle is never ample. Instead, we define a notion called almost ample which roughly asks that the log cotangent is as positive as possible. We show that all subvarieties of a quasi-projective variety with almost ample log cotangent bundle are of log general type. In addition, if one assumes globally generated then we obtain that such varieties contain finitely many integral points. In another direction, we show that the Lang-Vojta conjecture implies the number of stably integral points on curves of log general type, and surfaces of log general type with almost ample log cotangent sheaf are uniformly bounded., v5: exposition greatly improved. A conjecture of Kotschick predicts that a compact Kähler manifold X fibres smoothly over the circle if and only if it admits a holomorphic one-form without zeros. In this paper we develop an approach to this conjecture and verify it in dimension two. In a joint paper with Hao [10], we use our approach to prove Kotschick’s conjecture for smooth projective three-folds.

If $G$ is a group, a virtual retract of $G$ is a subgroup which is a retract of a finite index subgroup. Most of the paper focuses on two group properties: property (LR), that all finitely generated subgroups are virtual retracts, and property (VRC), that all cyclic subgroups are virtual retracts. We study the permanence of these properties under commensurability, amalgams over retracts, graph products and wreath products. In particular, we show that (VRC) is stable under passing to finite index overgroups, while (LR) is not. The question whether all finitely generated virtually free groups satisfy (LR) motivates the remaining part of the paper, studying virtual free factors of such groups. We give a simple criterion characterizing when a finitely generated subgroup of a virtually free group is a free factor of a finite index subgroup. We apply this criterion to settle a conjecture of Brunner and Burns., 30 pages, 1 figure. v3: added Lemma 5.8 and made minor corrections following referee's comments. In our previous paper we have elaborated a certain signed count of real lines on real projective n-dimensional hypersurfaces of degree 2n-1. Contrary to the honest "cardinal" count, it is independent of the choice of a hypersurface, and by this reason provides a strong lower bound on the honest count. In this count the contribution of a line is its local input to the Euler number of a certain auxiliary vector bundle. The aim of this paper is to present other, in a sense more geometric, interpretations of this local input. One of them results from a generalization of Segre species of real lines on cubic surfaces and another from a generalization of Welschinger weights of real lines on quintic threefolds., Comment: 20 pages, typos are corrected (most essential, in Proposition 4.3.3)

It is believed arXiv:0808.2762, arXiv:math/9904055 that, among the coefficients entering Kontsevich's formality quasi-isomorphism arXiv:q-alg/9709040, there are irrational (possibly even transcendental) numbers. In this paper, we prove that a formality quasi-isomorphism for Hochschild cochains of a polynomial algebra over rationals can be constructed recursively. The proof that the proposed recursive algorithm works, is based on the existence of formality quasi-isomorphism over reals. However, the algorithm requires no explicit knowledge of the coefficients entering Kontsevich's construction. Although this algorithm completely bypasses Tamarkin's approach arXiv:math/0003052, arXiv:math/9803025, the construction is inspired by Proposition 5.8 from the classical paper (Algebra i Analiz, 1990) by V. Drinfeld.

The theory of minimal K-types for p-adic reductive groups was developed in part to classify irreducible admissible representations with wild ramification. An important observation was that minimal K-types associated to such representations correspond to fundamental strata. These latter objects are triples (x, r, beta), where x is a point in the Bruhat-Tits building of the reductive group G, r is a nonnegative real number, and beta is a semistable functional on the degree r associated graded piece of the Moy-Prasad filtration corresponding to x. Recent work on the wild ramification case of the geometric Langlands conjectures suggests that fundamental strata also play a role in the geometric setting. In this paper, we develop a theory of minimal K-types for formal flat G-bundles. We show that any formal flat G-bundle contains a fundamental stratum; moreover, all such strata have the same rational depth. We thus obtain a new invariant of a flat G-bundle called the slope, generalizing the classical definition for flat connections. The slope can also be realized as the minimum depth of a stratum contained in the flat G-bundle, and in the case of positive slope, all such minimal depth strata are fundamental. Finally, we show that a flat G-bundle is irregular singular if and only if it has positive slope., Comment: 37 pages. In this paper, we construct twist automorphisms on quantum unipotent cells, which are quantum analogues of the Berenstein-Fomin-Zelevinsky twist automorphisms on unipotent cells. We show that those quantum twist automorphisms preserve the dual canonical bases of quantum unipotent cells. Moreover, we prove that quantum twist automorphisms are described by the syzygy functors for representations of preprojective algebras in the symmetric case. This is the quantum analogue of Gei{\ss}-Leclerc-Schr\"oer's description, and Gei{\ss}-Leclerc-Schr\"oer's results are essential in our proof. As a consequence, we show that quantum twist automorphisms are compatible with quantum cluster monomials. The Howe dual pair (sl(2),O(m)) allows the characterization of the classical Fourier transform (FT) on the space of rapidly decreasing functions as the exponential of a well-chosen element of sl(2) such that the Helmholtz relations are satisfied. In this paper we first investigate what happens when instead we consider exponentials of elements of the universal enveloping algebra of sl(2). This leads to a complete class of generalized Fourier transforms, that all satisfy properties similar to the classical FT. There is moreover a finite subset of transforms which very closely resemble the FT. We obtain operator exponential expressions for all these transforms by making extensive use of the theory of integer-valued polynomials. We also find a plane wave decomposition of their integral kernel and establish uncertainty principles. In important special cases we even obtain closed formulas for the integral kernels. In the second part of the paper, the same problem is considered for the dual pair (osp(1|2),Spin(m)), in the context of the Dirac operator. In our recent paper [Sh1] a version of the "generalized Deligne conjecture" for abelian $n$-fold monoidal categories is proven. For $n=1$ this result says that, given an abelian monoidal $k$-linear category $\mathscr{A}$ with unit $e$, $k$ a field of characteristic 0, the dg vector space $\mathrm{RHom}_{\mathscr{A}}(e,e)$ is the first component of a Leinster 1-monoid in $\mathscr{A}lg(k)$ (provided a rather mild condition on the monoidal and the abelian structures in $\mathscr{A}$, called homotopy compatibility, is fulfilled). In the present paper, we introduce a new concept of a ${\it graded}$ Leinster monoid. We show that the Leinster monoid in $\mathscr{A}lg(k)$, constructed by a monoidal $k$-linear abelian category in [Sh1], is graded. We construct a functor, assigning an algebra over the chain operad $C(E_2,k)$, to a graded Leinster 1-monoid in $\mathscr{A}lg(k)$, which respects the weak equivalences. Consequently, this paper together with loc.cit. provides a complete proof of the "generalized Deligne conjecture" for 1-monoidal abelian categories, in the form most accessible for applications to deformation theory (such as Tamarkin's proof of the Kontsevich formality)., v5 (68 pages) the final version (minor corrections and improvements to v4 are made)

In a recent paper, the first two authors proved that the generating series of the Poincare polynomials of the quasihomogeneous Hilbert schemes of points in the plane has a simple decomposition in an infinite product. In this paper, we give a very short geometrical proof of that formula.

In the series of papers [FL1, FL2] we approach quaternionic analysis from the point of view of representation theory of the conformal group SL(2,HC) ≃ SL(4,C) and its real forms. This approach has proven very fruitful and pushed further the parallel with complex analysis and develop a rich theory. In [FL2] we study the counterparts of Cauchy-Fueter and Poisson formulas on the spaces of split quaternions HR and Minkowski space M and show that they solve the problem of separation of the discrete and continuous series on SL(2,R) and the imaginary Lobachevski space SL(2,C)/SL(2,R). In particular, we introduce an operator PlR, compute its effect on the discrete and continuous series components of the space of functions H(H + ) and obtain a surprising formula for the Plancherel measure of SL(2,R). The proof is based on a transition to the Minkowski space M and some pretty lengthy computations. In this paper we introduce an operator d dR PlR on H(H + R ) and show that its effect on the discrete and continuous series components can be easily computed

Let R be a commutative noetherian ring. The notion of n-wide subcategories of Mod R is introduced and studied in Matsui-Nam-Takahashi-Tri-Yen in relation to the cohomological dimension of a specialization-closed subset of Spec R. In this paper, we introduce the notions of n-coherent subsets of Spec R and n-uniform subcategories of D(Mod R), and explore their interactions with n-wide subcategories of Mod R. We obtain a commutative diagram which yields filtrations of subcategories of Mod R, D(Mod R) and subsets of Spec R and complements classification theorems of subcategories due to Gabriel, Krause, Neeman, Takahashi and Angeleri Hugel-Marks-Stovicek-Takahashi-Vitoria., Comment: 17 pages, to appear in IMRN

O'Grady constructed a 6-dimensional irreducible holomorphic symplectic variety by taking a crepant resolution of some moduli space of stable sheaves on an abelian surface. In this paper, we naturally extend O'Grady's construction to fields of positive characteristic p greater than 2, called OG6 varieties. We show that a supersingular OG6 variety is unirational, its rational cohomology group is generated by algebraic classes, and its rational Chow motive is of Tate type. These results confirm in this case the generalized Artin--Shioda conjecture, the supersingular Tate conjecture and the supersingular Bloch conjecture proposed in our previous work, in analogy with the theory of supersingular K3 surfaces., Comment: Final version. Equivariant map algebras are Lie algebras of algebraic maps from a scheme (or algebraic variety) to a target finite-dimensional Lie algebra (in the case of the current paper, we assume the latter is a simple Lie algebra) that are equivariant with respect to the action of a finite group. In the first part of this paper, we define global Weyl modules for equivariant map algebras satisfying a mild assumption. We then identify a commutative algebra A that acts naturally on the global Weyl modules, which leads to a Weyl functor from the category of A-modules to the category of modules for the equivariant map algebra in question. These definitions extend the ones previously given for generalized current algebras (i.e. untwisted map algebras) and twisted loop algebras. In the second part of the paper, we restrict our attention to equivariant map algebras where the group involved is abelian, acts on the target Lie algebra by diagram automorphisms, and freely on (the set of rational points of) the scheme. Under these additional assumptions, we prove that A is finitely generated and the global Weyl module is a finitely generated A-module. We also define local Weyl modules via the Weyl functor and prove that these coincide with the local Weyl modules defined directly in a previous paper. The problem of whether the cohomological support map of a finite dimensional Hopf algebra has the tensor product property has attracted a lot of attention following the earlier developments on representations of finite group schemes. Many authors have focussed on concrete situations where positive and negative results have been obtained by direct arguments. In this paper we demonstrate that it is natural to study questions involving the tensor product property in the broader setting of a monoidal triangulated category. We give an intrinsic characterization by proving that the tensor product property for the universal support datum is equivalent to complete primeness of the categorical spectrum. From these results one obtains information for other support data, including the cohomological one. Two theorems are proved giving compete primeness and non-complete primeness in certain general settings. As an illustration of the methods, we give a proof of a recent conjecture of Negron and Pevtsova on the tensor product property for the cohomological support maps for the small quantum Borel algebras for all complex simple Lie algebras., 20 pages

Fix an odd prime $p$. The results in this paper are modeled after work of Hesselholt and Hesselholt–Madsen on the $p$-typical absolute de Rham–Witt complex in mixed characteristic. We have two primary results. The 1st result is an exact sequence that describes the kernel of the restriction map on the de Rham–Witt complex over $A$, where $A$ is the ring of integers in an algebraic extension of $\textbf{Q}_p$ or where $A$ is a $p$-torsion-free perfectoid ring. The 2nd result is a description of the $p$-power torsion (and related objects) in the de Rham–Witt complex over $A$, where $A$ is a $p$-torsion-free perfectoid ring containing a compatible system of $p$-power roots of unity. Both of these results are analogous to the results of Hesselholt and Madsen. Our main contribution is the extension of their results to certain perfectoid rings. We also provide algebraic proofs of these results, whereas the proofs of Hesselholt and Madsen used techniques from topology.

Gusakova and Zaporozhets conjectured that ellipsoids in $\mathbb R^n$ are uniquely determined (up to an isometry) by their intrinsic volumes. Petrov and Tarasov confirmed this conjecture in $\mathbb R^3$. In this paper, we solve the dual problem in all dimensions. We show that any ellipsoid in $\mathbb R^n$ centered at the origin is uniquely determined (up to an isometry) by an $n$-tuple of its dual volumes. As an application, we give an alternative proof of the result of Petrov and Tarasov.

In this paper, we study the geometry of the total space $Y$ of a cotangent bundle to a Kähler manifold $N$ where $N$ is obtained as a Kähler reduction from $\mathbb{C}^n$. Using the hyperkähler reduction, we construct a hyperkähler metric on $Y$ and prove that it coincides with the canonical Feix–Kaledin metric. This metric is in general non-complete. We show that the metric completion $\widetilde Y$ of the space $Y$ is equipped with a structure of a stratified hyperkähler space (in the sense of [ 31]). We give a necessary condition for the Feix–Kaledin metric to be complete using an observation of R. Bielawski. Pick a complex structure $J$ on $\widetilde Y$ induced from the quaternions. Suppose that $J\ne \pm I$ where $I$ is the complex structure whose restriction to $Y = T^{*}N$ is induced by the complex structure on $N$. We prove that the space $\widetilde{Y}_J$ admits an algebraic structure and is an affine variety.

This paper builds upon two key principles behind the Bourgain–Dyatlov quantitative uniqueness theorem for functions with Fourier transform supported in an Ahlfors regular set. We first provide a characterization of when a quantitative uniqueness theorem holds for functions with very quickly decaying Fourier transform, thereby providing an extension of the classical Paneah–Logvinenko–Sereda theorem. Secondly, we derive a transference result which converts a quantitative uniqueness theorem for functions with fast decaying Fourier transform to one for functions with Fourier transform supported on a fractal set. In addition to recovering the result of Bourgain–Dyatlov, we obtain analogous uniqueness results for denser fractals.

In this paper, we prove the Lipschitz regularity of continuous harmonic maps from a finite-dimensional Alexandrov space to a compact smooth Riemannian manifold. This solves a conjecture of F. H. Lin in [38]. The proof extends the argument of Huang-Wang [28].

In [GHKK18], Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich discuss compactifications of cluster varieties from "positive subsets" in the real tropicalization of the mirror. To be more precise, let $\mathfrak{D}$ be the scattering diagram of a cluster variety $V$ (of either type -- $\mathcal{A}$ or $\mathcal{X}$), and let $S$ be a closed subset of $\left(V^\vee\right)^{\text{trop}}(\mathbb{R})$ -- the ambient space of $\mathfrak{D}$. The set $S$ is positive if the theta functions corresponding to the integral points of $S$ and its $\mathbb{N}$-dilations define an $\mathbb{N}$-graded subalgebra of $\Gamma(V, \mathcal{O}_V)[x]$. In particular, a positive set $S$ defines a compactification of $V$ through a Proj construction applied to the corresponding $\mathbb{N}$-graded algebra. In this paper we give a natural convexity notion for subsets of $\mathfrak{D}$, called "broken line convexity", and show that a set is positive if and only if it is broken line convex. The combinatorial criterion of broken line convexity provides a tractable way to construct positive subsets of $\mathfrak{D}$, or to check positivity of a given subset., Comment: 40 pages, 19 figures, comments welcome. Let $\Omega \subset {{\mathbb {R}}}^{n+1}$, $n\geq 2$, be an open set with Ahlfors regular boundary that satisfies the corkscrew condition. We consider a uniformly elliptic operator $L$ in divergence form associated with a matrix $A$ with real, merely bounded and possibly nonsymmetric coefficients, which are also locally Lipschitz and satisfy suitable Carleson type estimates. In this paper we show that if $L^*$ is the operator in divergence form associated with the transpose matrix of $A$, then $\partial \Omega $ is uniformly $n$-rectifiable if and only if every bounded solution of $Lu=0$ and every bounded solution of $L^*v=0$ in $\Omega $ is $\varepsilon $-approximable if and only if every bounded solution of $Lu=0$ and every bounded solution of $L^*v=0$ in $\Omega $ satisfies a suitable square-function Carleson measure estimate. We classify weakly exact, rational Lagrangian tori in $T^* \mathbb{T}^2- 0_{\mathbb{T}^2}$ up to Hamiltonian isotopy. This result is related to the classification theory of closed $1$-forms on $\mathbb{T}^n$ and also has applications to symplectic topology. As a 1st corollary, we strengthen a result due independently to Eliashberg–Polterovich and to Giroux describing Lagrangian tori in $T^* \mathbb{T}^2-0_{\mathbb{T}^2}$, which are homologous to the zero section. As a 2nd corollary, we exhibit pairs of disjoint totally real tori $K_1, K_2 \subset T^*\mathbb{T}^2$, each of which is isotopic through totally real tori to the zero section, but such that the union $K_1 \cup K_2$ is not even smoothly isotopic to a Lagrangian. In the 2nd part of the paper, we study linking of Lagrangian tori in $({\mathbb{R}}^4, \omega )$ and in rational symplectic $4$-manifolds. We prove that the linking properties of such tori are determined by purely algebro-topological data, which can often be deduced from enumerative disk counts in the monotone case. We also use this result to describe certain Lagrangian embedding obstructions.

We lay the foundation for a version of $r$-spin theory in genus zero for Riemann surfaces with boundary. In particular, we define the notion of $r$-spin disks, their moduli space, and the Witten bundle; we show that the moduli space is a compact smooth orientable orbifold with corners, and we prove that the Witten bundle is canonically relatively oriented relative to the moduli space. In the sequel to this paper, we use these constructions to define open $r$-spin intersection theory and relate it to the Gelfand–Dickey hierarchy, thus providing an analog of Witten’s $r$-spin conjecture in the open setting.

In this paper, we introduce a new generalization of log canonical singularities for non-$\mathbb{Q}$-Gorenstein varieties. We prove that if a normal complex projective variety has a non-invertible polarized endomorphism, then it has log canonical singularities in our sense. As a corollary, we give an affirmative answer to a conjecture of Broustet and Höring [ 6].

Let $\pi $ be a Hecke–Maass cusp form for $\textrm{SL}_3(\mathbb{Z})$ with normalized Hecke eigenvalues $\lambda _{\pi }(n,r)$. Let $f$ be a holomorphic or Maass cusp form for $\textrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$ with normalized Hecke eigenvalues $\lambda _f(n)$. In this paper, we are concerned with obtaining nontrivial estimates for the sum $$\begin{align*}& \sum_{r,n\geq 1}\lambda_{\pi}(n,r)\lambda_f(n)e\left(t\,\varphi(r^2n/N)\right)V\left(r^2n/N\right), \end{align*}$$where $e(x)=e^{2\pi ix}$, $V(x)\in \mathcal{C}_c^{\infty }(0,\infty )$, $t\geq 1$ is a large parameter and $\varphi (x)$ is some real-valued smooth function. As applications, we give an improved subconvexity bound for $\textrm{GL}_3\times \textrm{GL}_2$ $L$-functions in the $t$-aspect and under the Ramanujan--Petersson conjecture we derive the following bound for sums of $\textrm{GL}_3\times \textrm{GL}_2$ Fourier coefficients $$\begin{align*}& \sum_{r^2n\leq x}\lambda_{\pi}(r,n)\lambda_f(n)\ll_{\pi, f, \varepsilon} x^{5/7-1/364+\varepsilon} \end{align*}$$for any $\varepsilon>0$, which breaks for the 1st time the barrier $O(x^{5/7+\varepsilon })$ in a work by Friedlander–Iwaniec.

We discuss the birational geometry and the Kodaira dimension of certain varieties previously constructed by Schreieder, proving that in any dimension they admit an elliptic fibration and they are not of general type. The $l$-dimensional variety $Y_{(n)}^{(l)}$, which is the quotient of the product of a certain curve $C_{(n)}$ by itself $l$ times by a group $G\simeq \left ({\mathbb{Z}}/n{\mathbb{Z}}\right )^{l-1}$ of automorphisms, was constructed by Schreieder to obtain varieties with prescribed Hodge numbers. If $n=3^c$ Schreieder constructed an explicit smooth birational model of it, and Flapan proved that the Kodaira dimension of this smooth model is 1, if $c>1$; if $l=2$ it is a modular elliptic surface; if $l=3$ it admits a fibration in K3 surfaces. In this paper we generalize these results: without any assumption on $n$ and $l$ we prove that $Y_{(n)}^{(l)}$ admits many elliptic fibrations and its Kodaira dimension is at most 1. Moreover, if $l=2$, its minimal resolution is a modular elliptic surface, obtained by a base change of order $n$ on a specific extremal rational elliptic surface; if $l\geq 3$ it has a birational model that admits a fibration in K3 surfaces and a fibration in $(l-1)$-dimensional varieties of Kodaira dimension at most 0.

Our previous paper describes a geometric translation of the construction of open Gromov–Witten invariants by Solomon and Tukachinsky from a perspective of $A_{\infty }$-algebras of differential forms. We now use this geometric perspective to show that these invariants reduce to Welschinger’s open Gromov–Witten invariants in dimension 6, inline with their and Tian’s expectations. As an immediate corollary, we obtain a translation of Solomon–Tukachinsky’s open WDVV equations into relations for Welschinger’s invariants.

In this paper, we study the Hessian map $h_{d,r}$, which associates to any hypersurface of degree $d$ in ${{\mathbb{P}}}^r$ its Hessian hypersurface, and the general properties of this map and prove that $h_{d,1}$ is birational onto its image if $d\geqslant 5.$ We also study in detail the maps $h_{3,1}$, $h_{4,1}$, and $h_{3,2}$ and the restriction of the Hessian map to the locus of hypersurfaces of degree $d$ with Waring rank $r+2$ in ${{\mathbb{P}}}^r$, proving that this restriction is injective as soon as $r\geqslant 2$ and $d\geqslant 3$, which implies that $h_{3,3}$ is birational onto its image. We also prove that the differential of the Hessian map is of maximal rank on the generic hypersurfaces of degree $d$ with Waring rank $r+2$ in ${{\mathbb{P}}}^r$, as soon as $r\geqslant 2$ and $d\geqslant 3$.

Bershadsky, Cecotti, Ooguri and Vafa constructed a real valued invariant for Calabi-Yau manifolds, which is called the BCOV invariant. In this paper, we consider a pair $(X,Y)$, where $X$ is a compact Kaehler manifold and $Y\in\big|K_X^m\big|$ with $m\in\mathbb{Z}\backslash\{0,-1\}$. We extend the BCOV invariant to such pairs. If $m=-2$ and $X$ is a rigid del Pezzo surface, the extended BCOV invariant is equivalent to Yoshikawa's equivariant BCOV invariant. If $m=1$, the extended BCOV invariant is well-behaved under blow-up. It was conjectured that birational Calabi-Yau threefolds have the same BCOV invariant. Fomin and Kirillov initiated a line of research into the realization of the cohomology and K-theory of generalized flag varieties G/B as commutative subalgebras of certain noncommutative algebras. This approach has several advantages, which we discuss. This paper contains the most comprehensive result in a series of papers related to the mentioned line of research. More precisely, we give a model for the T -equivariant K-theory of a generalized flag variety KT (G/B) in terms of a certain braided Hopf algebra called the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra. Our model is based on the Chevalley-type multiplication formula for KT (G/B) due to the first author and Postnikov; this formula is stated using certain operators defined in terms of so-called alcove paths (and the corresponding affine Weyl group). The pentagram map takes a planar polygon $P$ to a polygon $P'$ whose vertices are the intersection points of consecutive shortest diagonals of $P$. The orbit of a convex polygon under this map is a sequence of polygons which converges exponentially to a point. Furthermore, as recently proved by Glick, coordinates of that limit point can be computed as an eigenvector of a certain operator associated with the polygon. In the present paper we show that Glick's operator can be interpreted as the infinitesimal monodromy of the polygon. In this paper, we prove the coincidence of Kaletha’s recent construction of the local Langlands correspondence for regular supercuspidal representations with Harris–Taylor’s one in the case of general linear groups. The keys are Bushnell–Henniart’s essentially tame local Langlands correspondence and Tam’s result on Bushnell–Henniart’s rectifiers. By combining them, our problem is reduced to an elementary root-theoretic computation on the difference between Kaletha’s and Tam’s $\chi $-data.

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of small data solutions to the three-dimensional Vlasov-Maxwell system in the exterior of a light cone. The plasma does not have to be neutral and no compact support assumptions are required on the data. In particular, the initial decay in the velocity variable of the particle density is optimal and we only require an $L^2$ bound on the electromagnetic field with no additional weight. We use vector field methods to derive improved decay estimates in null directions for the electromagnetic field, the particle density and their derivatives. In contrast with \cite{dim3}, where we studied the behavior of the solutions in the whole spacetime, the initial data have less decay and we do not need to modify the commutation vector fields of the relativistic transport operator. To control the solutions under these assumptions, we crucially use the strong decay satisfied by the particle density in the exterior of the light cone, null properties of the Vlasov equation and certain hierarchies in the energy norms., Comment: The second version contains a simplified proof and a new decay estimate for velocity average

This paper studies finite Morin configurations $F$ of planes in $\mathbb P^5$ having higher length. The uniqueness of the configuration of maximal cardinality $20$ is proven. This is related to the stable canonical genus $6$ curve $C_{\ell}$ union of the $10$ lines of a smooth quintic Del Pezzo surface $Y$ in $\mathbb P^5$ and to the Petersen graph. Families of length $\geq 16$, previously unknown, are constructed by smoothing partially $C_{\ell}$. A more general irreducible family of special configurations of length $\geq 11$, we name as Morin-Del Pezzo configurations, is considered and studied. This depends on $9$ moduli and is defined via the family of nodal and rational canonical curves of $Y$. The special relations between Morin-Del Pezzo configurations and the geometry of special threefolds, like the Igusa quartic or its dual Segre primal, are focused., Comment: 27 pages

In this paper, we prove that the number $B(p,g)$ of isomorphism classes of abelian varieties over a prime field $\mathbb{F}_p$ of dimension $g$ has a lower bound $p^{\frac{1}{2}g^2(1+o(1))}$ as $g \rightarrow \infty$. This is the 1st nontrivial result on the lower bound of $B(p,g)$. We also improve the upper bound $2^{34g^2}p^{\frac{69}{4} g^2 (1+o(1))}$ of $B(p,g)$ given by Lipnowski and Tsimerman [ 7] to $p^{\frac{45}{4} g^2(1+o(1))}$.

Yuri Zarhin gave formulas for “dividing a point on a hyperelliptic curve by 2”. Given a point $P$ on a hyperelliptic curve $\mathcal{C}$ of genus $g$, Zarhin gives the Mumford representation of an effective degree $g$ divisor $D$ satisfying $2(D - g \infty ) \sim P - \infty $. The aim of this paper is to generalize Zarhin’s result to superelliptic curves; instead of dividing by 2, we divide by $1 - \zeta $. There is no Mumford representation for divisors on superelliptic curves, so instead we give formulas for functions that cut out a divisor $D$ satisfying $(1 - \zeta ) D \sim P - \infty $. Additionally, we study the intersection of $(1 - \zeta )^{-1} \mathcal{C}$ and the theta divisor $\Theta $ inside the Jacobian $\mathcal{J}$. We show that the intersection is contained in $\mathcal{J}[1 - \zeta ]$ and compute the intersection multiplicities.

In this paper, we initiate the generalisation of the operadic calculus which governs the properties of homotopy algebras to a properadic calculus which governs the properties of homotopy gebras over a properad. In this first article of a series, we generalise the seminal notion of infini-morphisms and the ubiquitous homotopy transfer theorem. As an application, we recover the homotopy properties of involutive Lie bialgebras developed by Cieliebak--Fukaya--Latschev and we produce new explicit formulas., Submitted version

In this paper we study homological stability for spaces ${\rm Hom}(\mathbb{Z}^n,G)$ of pairwise commuting $n$-tuples in a Lie group $G$. We prove that for each $n\geqslant 1$, these spaces satisfy rational homological stability as $G$ ranges through any of the classical sequences of compact, connected Lie groups, or their complexifications. We prove similar results for rational equivariant homology, for character varieties, and for the infinite-dimensional analogues of these spaces, ${\rm Comm}(G)$ and ${\rm B_{com}} G$, introduced by Cohen-Stafa and Adem-Cohen-Torres-Giese respectively. In addition, we show that the rational homology of the space of unordered commuting $n$-tuples in a fixed group $G$ stabilizes as $n$ increases. Our proofs use the theory of representation stability - in particular, the theory of ${\rm FI}_W$-modules developed by Church-Ellenberg-Farb and Wilson. Coset constructions of $\mathcal{W}$-algebras have many applications, and were recently given for principal $\mathcal{W}$-algebras of $A$, $D$, and $E$ types by Arakawa together with the first and third authors. In this paper, we give coset constructions of the large and small $N=4$ superconformal algebras, which are the minimal $\mathcal{W}$-algebras of $\mathfrak{d}(2,1;a)$ and $\mathfrak{psl}(2|2)$, respectively. From these realizations, one finds a remarkable connection between the large $N=4$ algebra and the diagonal coset $C^{k_1, k_2} = \text{Com}(V^{k_1+k_2}(\mathfrak{sl}_2), V^{k_1}(\mathfrak{sl}_2) \otimes V^{k_2}(\mathfrak{sl}_2))$, namely, as two-parameter vertex algebras, $C^{k_1, k_2}$ coincides with the coset of the large $N=4$ algebra by its affine subalgebra. We also show that at special points in the parameter space, the simple quotients of these cosets are isomorphic to various $\mathcal{W}$-algebras. As a corollary, we give new examples of strongly rational principal $\mathcal{W}$-algebras of type $C$ at degenerate admissible levels., 34 pages

For a reductive group $G$, Steinberg established a map from the Weyl group to the set of nilpotent $G$-orbits by using moment maps on double flag varieties. In particular, in the case of the general linear group, it provides a geometric interpretation of the Robinson-Schensted correspondence between permutations and pairs of standard tableaux of the same shape. We extend Steinberg's approach to the case of a symmetric pair $(G,K)$ to obtain two different maps, namely a \emph{generalized Steinberg map} and an \emph{exotic moment map}. Although the framework is general, in this paper we focus on the pair $(G,K) = (\mathrm{GL}_{2n}(\mathbb{C}), \mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{C}) \times \mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{C}))$. Then the generalized Steinberg map is a map from \emph{partial} permutations to the pairs of nilpotent orbits in $ \mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{C}) $. It involves a generalization of the classical Robinson--Schensted correspondence to the case of partial permutations. The other map, the exotic moment map, establishes a combinatorial map from the set of partial permutations to that of signed Young diagrams, i.e., the set of nilpotent $K$-orbits in the Cartan space $(\mathrm{Lie}(G)/\mathrm{Lie}(K))^* $. We prove a power saving over the trivial bound for the number of cohomological cuspidal automorphic representations of fixed level and growing weight on $GL_3/{\mathbb{Q}}$ by adapting the methods of our earlier paper on $GL_2$.

Let $A$ be a simple separable nuclear C$^*$-algebra with a unique tracial state and no unbounded traces, and let $\alpha $ be a strongly outer action of a finite group $G$ on $A$. In this paper, we show that $\alpha \otimes \textrm{id}$ on $A\otimes \mathcal{W}$ has the Rohlin property where $\mathcal{W}$ is the Razak–Jacelon algebra. Combing this result with the recent classification results and our previous result, we see that such actions are unique up to conjugacy.

We study the space $X_h$ of Hermitian matrices having staircase form and the given simple spectrum. There is a natural action of a compact torus on this space. Using generalized Toda flow, we show that $X_h$ is a smooth manifold and its smooth type is independent of the spectrum. Morse theory is then used to show the vanishing of odd degree cohomology, so that $X_h$ is an equivariantly formal manifold. The equivariant and ordinary cohomology of $X_h$ are described using GKM-theory. The main goal of this paper is to show the connection between the manifolds $X_h$ and the semisimple Hessenberg varieties well-known in algebraic geometry. Both the spaces $X_h$ and Hessenberg varieties form wonderful families of submanifolds in the complete flag variety. The purpose of this paper is to show that various convolution products are fully homotopical, meaning that they preserve weak equivalences in both variables without any cofibrancy hypothesis. We establish this property for diagrams of simplicial sets indexed by the category of finite sets and injections and for tame $M$-simplicial sets, with $M$ the monoid of injective self-maps of the positive natural numbers. We also show that a certain convolution product studied by Nikolaus and the first author is fully homotopical. This implies that every presentably symmetric monoidal $\infty$-category can be represented by a symmetric monoidal model category with a fully homotopical monoidal product., Comment: v2: 31 pages, exposition improved

In this paper, we use the theory of algebraic groups to prove a number of new and fundamental results about the orthogonal Gelfand–Zeitlin system. We show that the moment map (orthogonal Kostant–Wallach map) is surjective and simplify criteria of Kostant and Wallach for an element to be strongly regular. We further prove the integrability of the orthogonal Gelfand–Zeitlin system on regular adjoint orbits and describe the generic flows of the integrable system. We also study the nilfibre of the moment map and show that in contrast to the general linear case it contains no strongly regular elements. This extends results of Kostant, Wallach, and Colarusso from the general linear case to the orthogonal case.
