We investigate spin squeezing for superpositions of Dicke states. We derive the mean spin direction, the length of mean spin, the optimally squeezed angle and numerically calculate the spin squeezing parameter, which is determined by on the superposed coefficients and the relative phase. Approximate same superposed amplitude and the smaller relative phase lead to the larger the length of mean spin, the stronger spin squeezing and spin squeezing maintains in a longer time interval. Observers restricted to the observation of pointer states of apparatus cannot conclusively demonstrate that the pointer of an apparatus $\mathcal{A}$ registers the state of a system of interest S without perturbing S. Observers cannot, therefore, conclusively demonstrate that the states of a system S are redundantly encoded by pointer states of multiple independent apparatus without destroying the redundancy of encoding. The redundancy of encoding required by quantum Darwinism must, therefore, be assumed from outside the quantum-mechanical formalism and without the possibility of experimental demonstration. In terms of quantum Fisher information (QFI), a quantity χ was introduced by Pezzé and Smerzi (Phys. Rev. Lett. 102 100401, ). They pointed out that the inequality χ<1 was a sufficient condition for multiparticle entanglement. For the two-qubit symmetric states, we found that the inequality χ<1 is a necessary and sufficient condition for entanglement and spin squeezing, and that χ is equal to the second kind of spin squeezing parameter $\xi _{2}^{2}$. For the two-qubit asymmetric states, it is only a sufficient condition. In order to make it a necessary and sufficient condition, we extend the concept of the QFI and χ, and generalize the relations among the entanglement measurement, the spin squeezing parameters and χ in symmetric pure states to arbitrary pure states. This paper gives a generalization of group theory, i.e. a unification theory of different causal algebras, and its applications to theoretical physics. We propose left and right causal algebras, left and right causal decomposition algebras, causal algebra and causal decomposition algebras in terms of quantitative causal principle. The causal algebraic system of containing left (or right) identity I (or I) is called as the left (or right) causal algebra, and associative law is deduced. Furthermore the applications of the new algebraic systems are given in theoretical physics, specially in the reactions of containing supersymmetric particles, we generally obtain the invariance of supersymmetric parity of multiplying property. In the reactions of particles of high energy, there may be no identity, but there are special inverse elements, which make that the relative algebra be not group, however, the causal algebra given in this paper is just a tool of severely and directly describing the real reactions of particle physics. We have presented a model in which the new generalized Chaplygin gas interacts with matter. We find that there exists a stable scaling solution at late times in the evolution of the universe. Moreover, the phantom crossing scenario is observed in this model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For two parties sharing the original state, a scheme for remote preparation of the two-particle entangled state by three partial two-particle entangled states as the quantum channel is presented, and then directly generalize the scheme for remotely preparing a multipartite GHZ-class state for M senders. It is shown that the receiver can obtain the unknown state with certain probability under the condition that only and only if all the senders collaborate with each other. The N-particle projective measurement and the von Neumann measurement are needed in our scheme. We propose a tripartite scheme for bisplitting an arbitrary single-qubit quantum information (QI) by using a class of asymmetric three-qubit W state as quantum channels. In the scheme, the sender Alice first performs a Bell-state measurement on her two qubits and then publishes her measurement result via a public classical channel. Based on Alice’s message, if the two receivers Bob and Charlie collaborate together, they can retrieve the QI, i.e., they can deterministically recover the QI in one receiver’s site by first performing a two-qubit unitary operation and then executing a single-qubit unitary operation. Fidelity for the spin part of states of two spin- $\frac{1}{2}$ particles is investigated from the viewpoint of moving observers. Using a numerical approach, the behavior of the fidelity in terms of the boost parameter is described for different amounts of spin entanglement and momentum entanglement. It is shown that for the spin entangled states the fidelity decreases less than that of the case of spin product states and there are special cases for which the fidelity remains perfect regardless of moving observers’ velocity. Generally, in the limit of boosts with speeds close to the speed of light, the fidelity saturates, i.e., it reaches to a constant value that depends on the amount of momentum entanglement and the width of the momentum distribution function. In this work the equation of circular loops of cosmic string possessing time-dependent tension is studied in the de Sitter spacetime. We find that the cosmic string loops with initial radius r( t0)>0.707 L, L de Sitter radius, should not collapse to form a black hole. It is also found that in the case of r( t0)<0.707 L a loop of cosmic string whose tension depends on some power of cosmic time can not become a black hole if the power is lower than a critical value which is associated with the initial size of the loop. Our research gives rise to some important corrections to the conclusion in the case of loops of cosmic string with constant tension in the same background. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The classic “Bell’s Theorem” of Clauser, Holt, Shimony and Horne tells us that we must give up at least one of: (1) objective reality (aka “hidden variables”); (2) locality; or (3) time-forwards macroscopic statistics (aka “causality”). The orthodox Copenhagen version of physics gives up the first. The many-worlds theory of Everett and Wheeler gives up the second. The backwards-time theory of physics (BTP) gives up the third. Contrary to conventional wisdom, empirical evidence strongly favors Everett-Wheeler over orthodox Copenhagen. BTP allows two major variations—a many-worlds version and a neoclassical version based on Partial Differential Equations (PDE), in the spirit of Einstein. Section 2 of this paper discusses the origins of quantum measurement according to BTP, focusing on the issue of how we represent condensed matter objects like polarizers in a model “Bell’s Theorem” experiment. A scheme is proposed for generating the mesoscopic entanglement between the mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states and Fock states { |0〉, |2〉} by considering both the two-photon interaction of N two-level atoms in cavities with high quality factor assisted by a strong driving field. Moreover, we derive the dissipative interaction models for two-photon interaction. The corresponding analytical expressions of the fidelities can be given. Recently, there has been much attention devoted to resolving the quantum corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking black hole entropy. In particular, many researchers have expressed a vested interest in the coefficient of the logarithmic term of the black hole entropy correction term. In this paper, based on the correction to black hole thermodynamic quantity due to the generalized uncertainty principle, we calculate the partition function by energy spectrum obtained using tunneling effect. Furthermore we derive the black hole entropy. In the expression, we not only consider the generalized uncertainty principle but also consider the departure of black hole radiation spectrum from pure thermal spectrum. According to criterion law of thermodynamic systems phase transition, we discuss the phase transition of AdS black hole and derive that the phase transition of AdS black hole is a secondary one. We investigate the possibility of assigning consistent probabilities to sets of histories characterized by whether they enter a particular subspace of the Hilbert space of a closed system during a given time interval. In particular we investigate the case that this subspace is a region of the configuration space. This corresponds to a particular class of coarse grainings of spacetime regions. We consider the arrival time problem, as a warm up, to deal with the problem of time in reparametrization invariant theories (as for example in canonical quantum gravity) which subsequently we examine. Decoherence conditions and probabilities for those application are derived. The resulting decoherence condition does not depend on the explicit form of the restricted propagator that was problematic for generalizations such as application in quantum cosmology. Closely related to our results, is the problem of tunnelling time as well as the quantum Zeno effect. We investigate the noise-induced transport of Brownian particle in a deterministic spatial symmetrical periodic potential driven by colored cross correlation between a multiplicative white noise and an additive white noise. We derive the general formula of the stationary current. Based on numerical computation, we found that directed motion of the Brownian particles can be induced by the correlation time τ of cross correlation between the multiplicative noise and the additive noise and the current reversal and the direction of the current is controlled by the τ. We consider the generalized second law of black hole thermodynamics in the light of quantum information theory, in particular information erasure and Landauer’s principle (namely, that erasure of information produces at least the equivalent amount of entropy). A small quantum system outside a black hole in the Hartle-Hawking state is studied, and the quantum system comes into thermal equilibrium with the radiation surrounding the black hole. For this scenario, we present a simple proof of the generalized second law based on quantum relative entropy. We review the geodesic motion of pseudo-classical spinning particles in curved space. We describe the generalized Killing equations for spinning spaces and express the constants of motion. In 1953 Casimir proposed a semiclassical model for the electron based on the concept that net inward radiation pressure from the electromagnetic vacuum fluctuation fields (as in the Casimir effect, generally) might play the role of Poincare stresses, compensating outward coulomb pressure to yield a stable configuration at small dimensions. Given that in scattering experiments the electron appears point-like, critical to the success of the proposed model is demonstration that the self-energy corresponding to the divergent coulomb field does not contribute to the electron mass. Here we develop a self-consistent, vacuum-fluctuation-based model that satisfies this requirement and thereby resolves the issue of what would otherwise appear to be an incompatibility between a point-like electron and finite mass. In this paper we study the character of the Wigner function and Husimi function of the one- and two mode combining squeezed state ( OTCSS) on the basis of plotting the three dimensional graphics of the Wigner function and Husimi function. It is easy to calculate the Husimi function of the OTCSS in entangled two-mode state by virtue of the formula of entangled two-mode Husimi operator: Δ h ( σ, γ; κ)= | σ, γ〉 κ κ 〈 σ, γ | (Fan, H.-Y., Guo, Q. in Phys. We present a Chaplygin gas Friedmann–Robertson–Walker quantum cosmological model. In this work the Schutz’s variational formalism is applied with positive, negative, and zero constant spatial curvature. In this approach the notion of time can be recovered. These give rise to Schrödinger–Wheeler–DeWitt equation for the scale factor. We use the eigenfunctions in order to construct wave packets for each case. In this paper, by using well-known Eddington–Finkelstein coordinates instead of Painlevè coordinates, we study the tunneling effect of black holes. As examples of special static black holes, we calculate the tunneling rates of Gibbon–Maeda black holes. The result obtained by adopting Eddington–Finkelstein coordinates is in agreement with the Parikh’s standard result, Γ∼exp (−2Im S), which adopts the Painlevè coordinates. In addition, we discuss carefully the condition that the coordinates system in which we study the tunneling process should satisfy. Hamilton in the course of his studies on quaternions came up with an elegant geometric picture for the group SU(2). In this picture the group elements are represented by “turns,” which are equivalence classes of directed great circle arcs on the unit sphere S 2, in such a manner that the rule for composition of group elements takes the form of the familiar parallelogram law for the Euclidean translation group. It is only recently that this construction has been generalized to the simplest noncompact group SU(1, 1)= Sp(2, R)= SL(2, R), the double cover of SO(2, 1). The present work develops a theory of turns for SL(2, C), the double and universal cover of SO(3, 1) and SO(3, C), rendering a geometric representation in the spirit of Hamilton available for all low dimensional semisimple Lie groups of interest in physics. The transient properties of a bistable system with the stochastic potentials are investigated. The explicit expressions of the mean first-passage time (MFPT) are obtained by using a steepest-descent approximation. The results show that the MFPT of the system increases with the amplitude Δ of the stochastic potential, decreases with the noise intensity D and the correlation length l. “ Geometry,” in the sense of the classical differential geometry of smooth manifolds (CDG), is put under scrutiny from the point of view of Abstract Differential Geometry (ADG). Common observations of the unpredictability of human behavior and the influence of one question on the answer to another suggest social science experiments are probabilistic and may be mutually incompatible with one another, characteristics attributed to quantum mechanics (as distinguished from classical mechanics). This paper examines this superficial similarity in depth using the Foulis–Randall Operational Statistics language. In contradistinction to physics, social science deals with complex, open systems for which the set of possible experiments is unknowable and outcome interference is a graded phenomenon resulting from the ways the human brain processes information. It is concluded that social science is, in some ways, “less classical” than quantum mechanics, but that generalized “quantum” structures may provide appropriate descriptions of social science experiments. Hidden variables theories} for quantum mechanics are usually assumed to satisfy the KS condition. The Bell–Kochen–Specker theorem then shows that these theories are necessarily contextual. But the KS condition can be criticized from an operational viewpoint, which suggests that a weaker condition (MGP) should be adopted in place of it. This leads one to introduce a class of hidden parameters theories in which contextuality can, in principle, be avoided, since the proofs of the Bell–Kochen–Specker theorem break down. A simple model recently provided by the author for an objective interpretation of quantum mechanics can be looked at as a noncontextual hidden parameters theory, which shows that such theories actually exist. A sequential effect algebra (SEA) is an effect algebra on which a sequential product is defined. We present examples of effect algebras that admit a unique, many and no sequential product. Some general theorems concerning unique sequential products are proved. We discuss sequentially ordered SEAs in which the order is completely determined by the sequential product. We investigate the Wigner distribution function of the general time-dependent quadratic-Hamiltonian quantum system with the Lewis–Riesenfeld invariant operator method. The Wigner distribution function of the system in Fock state, coherent state, squeezed state, and thermal state are derived. The metric by Carmeli accurately produces the Tully-Fisher type relation in spiral galaxies, a relation showing the fourth power of the rotation speed proportional to the mass of the galaxy. And therefore it is claimed that it is also no longer necessary to invoke dark matter to explain the anomalous dynamics in the arms of spiral galaxies. An analysis is presented here showing Carmeli’s 5 dimensional space-time-velocity metric can also indeed describe the rotation curves of spiral galaxies based on the properties of the metric alone. An equation is obtained to find the Lagrangian for a one-dimensional autonomous system. The continuity of the first derivative of its constant of motion is assumed. This equation is solved for a generic nonconservative autonomous system that has certain quasi-relativistic properties. A new method based on a Taylor series expansion is used to obtain the associated Hamiltonian for this system. In this work, a general definition of convolution between two arbitrary tempered ultradistributions is given. When one of the tempered ultradistributions is rapidly decreasing this definition coincides with the definition of J. Sebastiao e Silva. In the four-dimensional case, when the tempered ultradistributions are even in the variables k0 and ρ, we obtain an expression for the convolution, which is more suitable for practical applications. The product of two arbitrary even (in the variables x0 and r) four-dimensional distributions of exponential type is defined via the convolution of its corresponding Fourier transforms. With this definition of convolution, we treat the problem of singular products of Green Functions in Quantum Field Theory (for Renormalizable as well as for nonrenormalizable theories). Several examples of convolution of two tempered ultradistributions are given. The most general quantum mechanical wave equation for a massive scalar particle in a metric generated by a spherically symmetric mass distribution is considered within the framework of higher derivative gravity (HDG). The exact effective Hamiltonian is constructed and the significance of the various terms is discussed using the linearized version of the above-mentioned theory. Not only does this analysis shed new light on the long standing problem of quantum gravity concerning the exact nature of the coupling between a massive scalar field and the background geometry, it also greatly improves our understanding of the role of HDG's coupling parameters in semiclassical calculations. The notion of Fock theory is introduced in the framework of quantum logics, which are here orthomodular atomic lattices satisfying the covering property. It is shown that there are some fundamental facts concerning particles, which may be successfully discussed in this general context. One of these facts is to establish the theoretical conditions for considering particles as sharply defined entities. The other refers to the theoretical circumstances, which almost impose to consider that some particles have a structure, meaning they are composed from other particles. The space–time translation property of a stable particle is characterized by a time-like Lorentz vector (E, $\backslash vec\{k\}$). We show in this contribution that unstable particles are, in addition, characterized by a space-like Lorentz 4-vector of uncertainties, or spreads, (Δ E, $\backslash hskip2pt\backslash smash\{\backslash raisebox\{6.5pt\}\{\_\{\backslash rightarrow\}\}\backslash hspace*\{-10pt\}\{\backslash Delta\; k\}\}$). This is true for unstable states created in formation-, in production-, and in decay-experiments. The space-like nature of the spread vector causes a nonzero momentum spread to be present in all Lorentz frames so that there is no Lorentz frame in which the unstable particle is entirely at rest. With the space-like spreadvector (Δ E, $\backslash hspace*\{3pt\}\backslash smash\{\backslash raisebox\{6.5pt\}\{\_\{\backslash rightarrow\}\}\backslash hspace*\{-10pt\}\{\backslash Delta\; k\}\}$) in addition to the time-like (E, $\backslash smash\{\backslash vec\{k\}\}$), also the rotation property of an unstable particle is affected, and unstable states have an uncertainty in their spin. This means neighboring spin states are occupied in addition to the original spin. Experiments are discussed that show a principal limitation of the accuracy of spin measurement from finite lifetimes. Wave functions for unstable particles are discussed, and we show in the example of a short-lived spin-0 state that the appearance of a spin neighbor in the amplitude is proportional to the inverse lifetime. We construct a quantum machine which, by using an asymmetric cloner, disentangles an entangled state and nearly retains it. The attainable maximum value of the scaling parameter for disentangling is identical to that obtained in previous works. The Jordan algebra structure of the bounded real quantum observables was recognized already in the early days of quantum mechanics. While there are plausible reasons for most parts of this structure, the existence of the distributive nonassociative multiplication operation is hard to justify from a physical or statistical point of view. Considering the non-Boolean extension of classical probabilities, presented in a recent paper, it is shown in this paper that such a multiplication operation can be derived from certain properties of the conditional probabilities and the observables, i.e., from postulates with a clear statistical interpretation. The well-known close relation between Jordan operator algebras and C*-algebras then provides the connection to the quantum-mechanical Hilbert space formalism, thus resulting in a novel axiomatic approach to general quantum mechanics that includes the types II and III von Neumann algebras. The Maxwell-Chern-Simons gauge theory coupled to a complex scalar field is quantized in the Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin (BRST) path integral formalism. On the basis of the symmetries of a constrained canonical (Hamiltonian) system, we get the quantal conserved angular momentum of the system under the global symmetry transformation. This article applies the theory of massive electrodynamics to the Dirac equation with the aim to find the generalized Volkov solution with massive photon field. The resulting equation is the Riccati equation which cannot be solved in general. We use the approximative Volkov function for massive photons and consider an electron in the periodic field and in the laser pulse of the δ-function form. The scattering of electrons by atomic copper has been studied using Born approximation and the concept of the generalized oscillator strength (GOS). Differential and total cross-sections for the excitation of the 3d10 4p2 P state are calculated at incident energies of 100 eV and are compared with other available experimental and theoretical data. The agreement between our calculation for the differential cross-section and the available experimental results is fairly good at the forward angles, while the agreement at large angles is poor. The calculated total cross-sections are compared with the experimental data and those predicted by several theories. It is found that our calculation for the total cross-sections are in a good agreement with the close coupling calculation of Msezane and Henry (1986a, Physical Review A33, 1631) for incident energies greater than 20 eV. The integrated cross-section measurements of Ismail and Teubner (1995, Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics28, 4164) are in good agreement with the present calculation.
