Abstract

contributed 179/255 (70.2%) followed by children aged 6-17 yrs 42 (16.5%). Conclusion: Influenza virus was not commonly isolated from patients presenting with influenza/ILIs at participating outpatient clinics particulary among adults which calls for further investigations to determine other potential pathogens. Influenza A virus H1N1 followed by H3N2 are themain virus subtypes being isolated in Uganda.
