This study focused on the unexplored bioactive proteins derived from the flower of Clitoria ternatea. The profiling of blue and white C. ternatea flowers was compared. After extraction, the samples underwent ultrafiltration and the isolation of the protein peptides was done by using four different buffers. The highest yield was found in the case of phosphate buffered-based extracts in blue C. ternatea flower. The single HPLC peak at 220 nm with a high area percentage confirmed the presence of peptides in all the 3 kDa filtrates of C. ternatea. These 3 kDa filtrates were concentrated by using a C-18 zip tip method, with alpha-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid as a substrate for MALDI-TOF-MS-based peptide mass analysis. To determine the antioxidant activity of the peptides, four different assays including DPPH, ABTS, FRAP and NOS were used and it was observed that the blue C. ternatea flower exhibited the potential activity when compared to the white C. ternatea flower. Among all, the phosphate buffer filtrate exhibited the highest antioxidant activity. According to global health metrics, clinical symptoms such as cellulitis and pyoderma associated with skin diseases are a significant burden worldwide, affecting 2.2 million disability-adjusted life years in 2020. There is a strong correlation between the commensal bacteria and the host immune system. Classical methods deployed in dermal biofilm crosstalk studies often hamper many individuals from early diagnosis and rationalized therapy. Herein, the present report aims to study the role of skin microbiota and mechanisms of microbial crosstalk with host immune system. The emerging analytical tools devised for sensor/biosensor platforms, including molecularly imprinted polymers, microarrays, aptamers, CRISPR-cas9, and optical/electrochemical approaches, are discussed as alternative methods for important biomarker analysis. Further, the types and characteristics of microorganism-derived macromolecules and the recent skin organoid toward personalized therapy are highlighted. Bone tissue engineering (BTE) is an emerging strategy for the treatment of critical bone defects using biomaterials and cells. Esculetin (ES), a coumarin phytocompound, has demonstrated therapeutic potential, although its osteogenic effects remain insufficiently explored. Owing to its hydrophobic nature, which limits its bioavailability, this study developed a drug delivery system using chitosan nanoparticles (nCS) to achieve sustained release of ES. These ES-loaded nCS nanoparticles were incorporated into biocomposite scaffolds composed of alginate (Alg) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) using freeze-drying. The synthesized nCS-ES nanoparticles exhibited spherical morphology with a uniform size distribution, ranging from 105 to 117 nm, and demonstrated excellent entrapment efficiencies (94.07 to 97.61 %). The nanoparticles displayed high zeta potential values (+27.8 to +33.2 mV), ensuring stable dispersion. The biocomposite scaffolds exhibited a uniform distribution of pores, with pore diameters ranging from 106 ± 14 μm to 112 ± 14 μm. The biocomposite scaffolds exhibited excellent swelling, protein adsorption, biodegradation, and biomineralization properties. The ES-loaded scaffolds showed sustained ES release, promoting osteogenesis in vitro, with the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Biocomposites can be a solution for environmental pollution and sustainability by acting as an alternative to petroleum-based products used in the field of packaging and biomedical applications. Herein, an attempt to valorize the potential of Prosopis juliflora plant to fabricate Polylactic acid (PLA) based biocomposites. The biocomposites comprised of Prosopis juliflora bark powder (PJBP) and PLA were fabricated by solution casting method with various weight percentages (Wt%) of PJBP. PJBP/PLA films show uniform functional group interactions through FTIR analysis. The 25 % PJBP/ PLA biocomposite shows the highest crystalline size of 8.9 nm. The 25 wt% included PJBP increases the thermal stability by 6.9 %, surface roughness by 212 %, and tensile strength by 45.5 % compared to PLA film. The 25 % PJBP film shows increment in the water absorption and water vapor permeability test. In addition, the antibacterial behavior of 25 % PJBP bio composite shows higher inhibition zones against the gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens. Biocomposite films with PJBP content show 40 % degradation in soil for degradation analysis. Multiple anti-inflammatory medications have helped treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, oral administration has minimal absorption and systemic side effects. This study aims to investigate the potential of encapsulating anti-inflammatory drug celecoxib (Cele) within microbeads for the treatment of IBD. Microbeads were formed by cross-linking carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCs) with sodium alginate (Alg) through the ionic gelation method and optimized through response surface methodology. Additionally, the study revealed a mucoadhesivity value of 59.32 ± 0.74 % for the optimized microbead system. The drug release study demonstrated the sustained release of Cele CMCs/Alg microbeads upto 24 h compared to quick release of the free drug. The results of the cell viability assay indicated that the Cele-Alg/CMCs microbeads exhibited a non-toxic nature within the concentration range of 100-250 μM. A significant decrease in nitric oxide (NO) generation (61.14 ± 3.67 %) was seen in HCT-116 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) upon treatment with Cele-250 μM /CMCs/Alg microbeads. The results of the reactive oxygen species and wound healing assay suggest that Cele-250 μM /CMCs/Alg microbeads had improved anti-inflammatory characteristics comparable to those of free drug treatment. The development of targeted nanotherapeutics has emerged as a pivotal advancement in cancer treatment, aiming to enhance the efficacy and specificity of drug delivery while minimizing systemic toxicity. Due to their biocompatibility and modifiable surface properties, Chitosan-based nanoparticles have shown considerable promise in encapsulating and delivering therapeutic agents directly to tumor sites. This study investigates the potential of 1,5-diary pyrazole derivative (T4)-loaded chitosan (CS) nanoparticles as a novel anticancer agent, evaluating their physical characteristics, in vivo biodistribution, and therapeutic efficacy against cancerous cells. SEM morphological analysis confirmed chitosan-based nanoparticles' smooth, spherical structure, with aggregation patterns typical of high surface energy nanoparticle synthesis. UV-visible spectroscopy and XRD analysis validated the successful incorporation of T4, showing characteristic absorption peaks and indicating a reduction in crystallinity desirable for enhanced drug release. In vivo imaging demonstrated the rapid systemic distribution of T4-CS nanoparticles, essential for delivering therapeutic agents effectively. The cytotoxic potential of T4-CS nanoparticles was significantly higher against cancer cells compared to controls, confirmed by MTT and scratch assays, indicating enhanced anti-cancer activity and potential inhibition of cancer metastasis. Furthermore, histological and gene expression analyses supported the anti-tumor and pro-apoptotic capabilities of T4-CS nanoparticles, showing reduced proliferation markers and inflammatory pathways. Behavioral assessments in rats highlighted the neuroprotective effects of T4-CS nanoparticles against 7,12-dimethyl benzanthracene (DMBA) induced neurotoxicity, suggesting their utility as both anticancer and neuroprotective agents. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been researched for their capacity to reduce cancer incidence, primarily due to their COX-2 inhibition properties. However, concerns have arisen regarding the precision of their targeting abilities. Nanoparticle approaches are revolutionizing cancer treatment by enabling targeted drug delivery, which enhances the efficacy and reduces the toxicity of chemotherapy. Particularly, chitosan-based nanoparticles are noteworthy for their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and ability to improve drug delivery. In this study, we synthesized folic acid-conjugated, 1,5-diaryl pyrazole-loaded chitosan (FA-CS-DP) nanoparticles using the ionic gelation method. The bioavailability and anti-neoplastic effects in a 7,12-dimethylbenzanthracene (DMBA)-exposed zebrafish model was investigated. MTT assay showed dose-dependent cytotoxicity of FA-CS-DP nanoparticles against MCF-7 breast cancer. The nanoparticles showed no toxicity to zebrafish embryos up to 100 μg/mL. The nanoparticle reduced oxidative stress and enhanced apoptosis in zebrafish exposed to DMBA. The morphological examination suggests that tumor growth was prevented in the zebrafish's surface and internal regions. The gene expression analysis confirmed the decrease in the expression of anti-inflammatory genes, such as cox-2 and nf-κb, and apoptosis inhibitor genes, such as bcl-2 and mdm2. This study explores the interaction between the pesticide thifluzamide (TF) and haemoglobin (Hb) to understand potential structural changes that might affect Hb's function. Using a combination of UV-Visible and fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism (CD), molecular docking, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and electrochemical methods, we investigated these interactions in detail. Spectroscopy results indicated the formation of a stable TF-Hb complex, with a binding constant of 6.64 × 10 5  M -1 at 298 K and a 1:1 binding ratio. The stability of this complex was confirmed by a free energy change (∆G) of -34.491 kJ mol -1 . CD spectroscopy was employed to confirm structural changes in Hb due to thifluzamide binding. Molecular docking studies revealed that TF interacts with specific amino acids in Hb like ALA, HIS, VAL, LYS, and LEU, with a binding energy of -25.10 kJ mol -1 . MD simulations supported these findings by showing conformational changes in Hb upon TF binding, as indicated by RMSD and RMSF analyses. Electrochemical experiments further confirmed the interaction, evidenced by a consistent decrease in the TF's peak in the presence of Hb. Overall, our findings shed light to understand the binding of TF with Hb, causing structural changes that could potentially impact its normal function. The rising environmental concerns and the growing demand for renewable materials have surged across various industries. In this context, lignin, being a plentiful natural aromatic compound that possesses advantageous functional groups suitable for utilization in biocomposite systems, has gained notable attention as a promising and sustainable alternative to fossil-derived materials. It can be obtained from lignocellulosic biomass through extraction via various techniques, which may cause variability in its thermal, mechanical, and physical properties. Due to its excellent biocompatibility, eco-friendliness, and low toxicity, lignin has been extensively researched for the development of high-value materials including lignin-based biocomposites. Its aromatic properties also allow it to successfully substitute phenol in the production of phenolic resin adhesives, resulting in decreased formaldehyde emission. This review investigated and evaluated the role of lignin as a green filler in lignin-based lignocellulosic composites, aimed at enhancing their fire retardancy and decreasing formaldehyde emission. In addition, relevant composite properties, such as thermal properties, were investigated in this study. Markedly, technical challenges, including compatibility with other matrix polymers that are influenced by limited reactivity, remain. Some impurities in lignin and various sources of lignin also affect the performance of composites. While lignin utilization can address certain environmental issues, its large-scale use is limited by both process costs and market factors. Therefore, the exact mechanism by which lignin enhances flame retardancy, reduces formaldehyde emissions, and improves the long-term durability of lignocellulosic composites under various environmental conditions remains unclear and requires thorough investigation. Bone tissue engineering (BTE) aims to repair and regenerate damaged bone tissue by combining cells, scaffolds, and signaling molecules. Various macromolecules, including natural polymers like chitosan (CS), collagen, hyaluronic acid, and alginate, as well as synthetic polymers such as polyethylene glycol and polylactic acid, are used in scaffold fabrication. Among these, CS holds significant potential in BTE due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability, and other features. The inherent mechanical weaknesses of CS-based scaffolds require the implementation of crosslinking strategies to improve their stability and overall performance. Physical crosslinkers like ultra-violet irradiation and freeze-thaw cycles are biocompatible but offer limited mechanical strength. Chemical crosslinkers like glutaraldehyde significantly improve mechanical strength, but they may induce cytotoxicity. We briefly outline here the critical role of physical and chemical crosslinkers in improving the physicochemical properties, mechanical strength, biocompatibility, and biological functions of CS-based scaffolds, including effective bone regeneration. The influence of crosslinking on the CS-based scaffolds' bioactivity, including the controlled release of bioactive molecules, is also discussed. Background: Wound healing relies on a controlled inflammatory process vital for tissue regeneration. Chronic wounds, characterized by persistent inflammation and high infection risk, pose significant challenges in healthcare. Hydrogel dressings offer promise in wound care; however, the understanding of their role in managing inflammation and infection remains unclear. This study aimed to elucidate these processes and assess the efficacy of Asiatic acid (AA)-infused hydrogels in reducing inflammation and preventing infection. The unique properties of AA suggest its potential to modulate inflammation, promote tissue regeneration, and inhibit microbial colonization, thereby paving the way for specialized dressings that optimize healing outcomes., Methods: The investigation encompassed the antibacterial, anti-biofilm, antioxidant activity, and biocompatibility of AA using a fibroblast cell line. A hydrogel incorporating AA was developed and characterized through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), contact angle analysis, tensile testing, swelling capacity, and thermal stability assessments. Biodegradability was evaluated via enzymatic degradation, alongside controlled drug release and antibacterial efficacy against MRSA. The environmental pollution caused by heavy metal ions has become a serious global environmental issue. Heavy metal contaminants released from industrial effluents, agricultural runoff, and human activities, can enter into water resources. The toxicity of these heavy metal ions even at trace concentrations presents a substantial hazard to both aquatic systems and human well-being. The membrane separation processes have become more promising sustainable techniques for the separation of metal ions from the effluent. The research efforts have been concentrated on improving the synthesis of membranes and membrane materials to facilitate the sustainable separation of heavy metals. The application of chitosan in the fabrication of membranes is getting more attention. Chitosan, a natural polysaccharide derived from chitin, is abundant in nature and has active hydroxyl and amino groups suitable for the separation of heavy metal ions. It exhibits excellent chelating tendency, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. The functionalization of chitosan to improve its mechanical strength, chemical stability, and antifouling properties has become an ongoing area of research. Biopolymers infused with bimetallic nanoparticles exhibit a wide range of functionalities necessary for efficiently eliminating diverse water contaminants. However, the protracted production process requires further exploration. As such, present study seeks to optimize microwave-assisted technique for the facile synthesis of cross-linked chitosan (CTS) supported bimetallic-oxide nanoparticles, specifically zinc oxide (ZnO) and iron-oxide (Fe 3 O 4 ), denoted as CTS-TTP/Zn-Fe. The primary objective is to investigate the efficacy of these beads in the removal of Paracetamol (PCM) from single and complex water matrices while also assessing their antibacterial properties. Characterization includes chemical composition, surface structures, thermal stability, and magnetic properties. The experimental results demonstrated that CTS-TPP/Zn-Fe beads achieved a remarkable PCM removal efficiency of ~99 % (q m  = 4.98 mg g -1 ), with a Zn:Fe mole ratio of 1:1. The experimental data showed good applicability with Freundlich isotherm and chemisorption-supported rate models (R 2  > 0.9). To evaluate the long-term viability and practicality of these beads, three crucial field applicability tests were conducted. These encompassed competition studies with other pharmaceuticals, desorption investigations for repeated use, and efficiency evaluations in an ionic solution. Hexavalent chromium (Cr (VI)) contamination poses a significant threat to environmental and human health due to its ability to induce oxidative stress. Conventional strategies to counter Cr (VI)-induced oxidative stress, like antioxidants and chelating agents, face efficacy limitations and adverse effects. The present study is intended to counteract the limitations of conventional strategies by introducing a trypsin inhibitor isolated from Dioscorea bulbifera L. tubers, known as DbGTi protein, against Cr (VI)-induced developmental toxicity and oxidative stress. Through a comprehensive array of biochemical assays, behavioural tests, and gene expression analyses, this study interprets the underlying mechanisms of the DbGTi protein. Future agricultural practices necessitate green alternatives to replace hazardous insecticides while distinguishing between pests and beneficial insects. Chitosan, as a biological macromolecule derived from chitin, is biodegradable and exhibits low toxicity to non-target organisms, making it a sustainable alternative to synthetic pesticides. This review identifies chitosan-derivatives for insecticidal activity and highlights its efficacy including genotoxicity, defense mechanism, and disruption of insect's exoskeleton at different concentrations against several insect pests. Similarly, synergistic effects of chitosan in combination with natural extracts, essential oils, and plant-derived compounds, enhances insecticidal action against various pests was evaluated. The chitosan-based insecticide formulations (CHIF) in the form of emulsions, microcapsules, and nanoparticles showed efficient insecticide action on the targeted pests with less environmental impact. The current challenges associated with the field-trial application were also recognized, by optimizing potent CHIF-formulation parameters, scaling-up process, and regulatory hurdles addressed alongside potential solutions. The use of nanotechnology and polymer-based carriers in osteoporosis treatment offers promising avenues for targeted drug delivery and enhanced therapeutic efficacy. In this study, we developed a novel nanoconjugate composed of Chitosan (CH), Chondroitin Sulfate (CS), and Daidzein (DZ) to treat glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in an in vivo zebrafish model. The CH-CS-DZ nanoconjugate were synthesized using the ionic gelation method, with a CH: CS ratio of 1:1 and a 3 % DZ concentration was identified as optimal for further analysis. The resulting nanoparticles exhibited a particle size of 401.2 ± 0.87 nm. The polydispersity index (PDI) and zeta potential of nanoconjugate were of 0.147 ± 0.04 and 43.55 ± 0.68 mV respectively. Drug release studies demonstrated that 79.66 ± 4.04 % of DZ was released under physiological conditions (pH 7.5) after 96 h, indicating a sustained release profile beneficial for prolonged therapeutic effects. In vivo, studies using zebrafish larvae revealed a significant reduction in oxidative stress and apoptosis in the CH-CS-DZ treated group compared to the glucorticoid dexamethasone (Dex) treated group. Specifically, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were reduced, and lipid peroxidation was markedly decreased (p < 0.001) in the CH-CS-DZ treated group. Additionally, the survival and hatching rates of CH-CS-DZ-treated larvae were 94 % and 95 %, respectively, significantly higher than those in the Dex-treated group. This study focuses on the optimization of Hydrastis canadensis-based nanocarriers in environmental and microbial applications like antibacterial and dye degradation. Hydrastis canadensis (H. canadensis) is loaded into the nanocarrier using a gelation method. Characterization involves pH analysis, UV-VIS spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, high-performance liquid chromatography, encapsulation efficiency. Further antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were tested. Dye degradation was evaluated at concentrations of 1 % of high molecular (HM) and 1.5 % of low molecular (LM) chitosan nanoparticles with both 3C and 1000C concentrations of the drug. The obtained results confirm the presence of chitosan nanocarrier alongside the pure drug in 1 % HM and 1.5 % LM chitosan particles with a notable encapsulation efficiency activity in both 3C and 1000C concentrations. Antimicrobial studies were carried out using the agar well diffusion method and revealed a significant zone of inhibition of 20 mm and 25 mm for E. coli and S. aureus, respectively in chitosan nanocarrier-loaded samples compared to pure drug and chitosan nanocarriers samples. The dye degradation studies of four dyes methylene blue, methylene orange, methylene red, and safranin using both pure drugs and chitosan nanocarrier-loaded drugs showed the highest percentage of degradation (76 %) against methylene blue in the chitosan nanocarrier-drug loaded formulation. These findings cumulatively underscore chitosan nanoparticles can be used as an effective carrier for Hydrastis Canadensis, with enhanced antimicrobial and dye degradation capabilities. Varied concentrations and molecular weights highlight the versatility of the ionotropic gelation method in optimizing drug delivery. Enhanced efficacy of the nanocarrier was evident in the observed zone of inhibition in antimicrobial testing. The substantial degradation percentage in methylene blue emphasizes the formulation's applicability in environmental dye removal processes, with potential avenues for improvement explored through interactions between the chitosan nanocarrier and H. canadensis characteristics. Bone tissue engineering (BTE) aims to develop implantable bone replacements for severe skeletal abnormalities that do not heal. In the field of BTE, chitosan (CS) has become a leading polysaccharide in the development of bone scaffolds. Although CS has several excellent properties, such as biodegradability, biocompatibility, and antibacterial properties, it has limitations for use in BTE because of its poor mechanical properties, increased degradation, and minimal bioactivity. To address these issues, researchers have explored other biomaterials, such as synthetic polymers, ceramics, and CS coatings on metals, to produce CS-based biocomposite scaffolds for BTE applications. These CS-based biocomposite scaffolds demonstrate superior properties, including mechanical characteristics, such as compressive strength, Young's modulus, and tensile strength. In addition, they are compatible with neighboring tissues, exhibit a controlled rate of degradation, and promote cell adhesion, proliferation, and osteoblast differentiation. In recent years, the process of producing bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass through biorefining has become increasingly important. However, to obtain a high yield of ethanol, the complex structures in the feedstock must be broken down into simple sugars. A cost-effective and innovative method for achieving this is ionic liquid pre-treatment, which is widely used to efficiently hydrolyze the lignocellulosic material. The study aims to produce a significant profusion of bioethanol via catalytic hydrolysis of ionic liquid-treated lignocellulose biomass. The current study reports the purification of Streptomyces sp. MS2A cellulase via ultrafiltration and gel permeation chromatography. The kinetic parameters and the biochemical nature of the purified cellulase were analyzed for the effective breakdown of the EMIM[OAC] treated lignocellulose chain. The two-step cellulase purification resulted in 6.28 and 12.44 purification folds. The purified cellulase shows a Km value of 0.82 ± 0.21 mM, and a Vmax value of 85.59 ± 8.87 μmol min -1  mg -1 with the catalytic efficiency of 1.027 S -1 . The thermodynamic parameters like ΔH, ΔS, and ΔG of the system were studied along with the thermal deactivation kinetics of cellulase. The optimal temperature and pH of the purified cellulase enzyme for hydrolysis was found to be 40 °C and 7. The rice husk and wheat husk used in this study were pretreated with the EMIM [OAC] ionic liquid and the change in the structure of lignocellulosic biomass was observed via HRSEM. The ionic liquid treated biomass showed the highest catalytic hydrolysis yield of 106.66 ± 0.19 mol/ml on the third day. Hybrid nanohydroxyapatite/carboxymethyl chitosan (nHAp-CMC) scaffolds have garnered significant attention in the field of regenerative engineering. The current study comparatively analyzed the physicochemical and biological properties of synthetic nanohydroxyapatite (SnHA)- and eggshell-sourced nanohydroxyapatite (EnHA)- based CMC biocomposites for pulp-dentin regeneration. EnHA and CMC were synthesized through a chemical process, whereas SnHA was commercially obtained. Composite scaffolds of SnHA-CMC and EnHA-CMC (1:5 w/w) were prepared using freeze-drying method. All biomaterials were characterized by FTIR, micro-Raman, XRD, HRSEM-EDX, and TEM analyses, and their in vitro bioactivity was assessed by immersing them in simulated body fluid for 21 days. The biological properties of the composite scaffolds were evaluated by assessing cytocompatibility using MTT assay and biomineralization potential by analyzing the odontogenic gene expressions (ALP, DSPP, DMP-1 and VEGF) in human dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) using RT-qPCR method. Characterization studies revealed that EnHA displayed higher crystallinity and superior surface morphology compared to SnHA. The composite scaffolds showed a highly interconnected porous microstructure with pore sizes ranging between 60 and 220 μm, ideal for cell seeding. All tested materials, SnHA, EnHA, and their respective composites, displayed high cytocompatibility, increased ALP activity and degree of mineralization with significant upregulation of odontogenic-related genes on DPSCs (p < 0.05). Nevertheless, the odontogenic differentiation potential of EnHA-CMC on DPSCs was significantly higher when compared to SnHA-CMC. The objective of this study was to evaluate the synergistic effect of eggshell-derived nanohydroxyapatite (EnHA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC) in remineralizing artificially induced dentinal lesions. EnHA and CMC were synthesized using simple chemical processes and characterized using FTIR, XRD, HRSEM-EDX, TEM, DLS and TGA/DTA analyses. A total of 64 pre-demineralized coronal dentin specimens were randomly subjected to following treatments (n = 16):artificial saliva (AS), EnHA, CMC, and EnHA-CMC, followed by pH cycling for 7 days. HRSEM-EDX, Vickers-indenter, and micro-Raman analyses were used to assess surface-topography, microhardness, and chemical analysis, respectively. All tested materials demonstrated non-cytotoxicity when assessed on hDPSCs using MTT assay. FTIR, XRD and thermal analyses confirmed the characteristics of both EnHA and CMC. EnHA showed irregular rod-shaped nanoparticles (30-70 nm) with the presence of Ca,P,Na, and Mg ions. Dentin treated with EnHA-CMC exhibited complete tubular occlusion and highest microhardness whereas the AS group revealed the least mineral deposits (p < 0.05). No significant differences were observed between EnHA and CMC groups (p > 0.05). In addition, molecular conformation analysis revealed peak intensities in collagen's polypeptide chains in dentin treated with CMC and EnHA-CMC, whereas other groups showed poor collagen stability. Breast cancer (BC) is a global health concern, and development of diagnostic tools and targeted treatments for BC remains challenging. Therapeutic approaches for BC often involve a combination of surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the role of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), including long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs), in BC and their therapeutic implications. Various biological processes such as cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis rely on the activities of these ncRNAs, and their dysregulation has been implicated in BC progression. The regulatory function of the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network, which comprises lncRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs, has been the subject of extensive pathophysiological research. Chitosan (CH) is natural abundant biopolymer present on earth after cellulose. CH can be functionalized by numerous functional groups such as amino and carboxyl groups, potential biologically active compounds. The functionalization of CH with polyphenols had a greater biological than non-grafted CH. In the present study, the polyphenolic compound liquiritigenin (LTG) is chemically functionalized on the low molecular weight chitosan (LMW-CH) (693.09 Da). This was extracted and irradiated with gamma radiation from the gladius of Sepioteuthis lessoniana. The grafted compound was to in vitro anti-oxidant employing physicochemical methods and characterization was made by spectroscopic methods. The degree of deacetylation (DDA) of the LMW-CH was detected in 74 % of the samples, and at higher concentrations (100 g/mL). LMW-CH grafted with LTG had improved water solubility (5 mg/mL), and was thermally stable upto 143.58 °C. Its molecular weight was 855.1 Da. In conclusion the in vitro antioxidant and the anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) properties of the grafted samples were significantly (P < 0.001) increased compared to the unconjugated LMW-CH and LTG. Overall, functionalization of LTG with LMW-CH improved the anti-tuberculosis activity. Non-coding RNA (ncRNA)-based therapies entail delivering ncRNAs to cells to regulate gene expression and produce proteins that combat infections, cancer, neurological diseases, and bone abnormalities. Nevertheless, the therapeutic potential of these ncRNAs has been limited due to the difficulties in delivering them to specific cellular targets within the body. Retrograded starches have received increasing attention due to their potential excipient properties in pharmaceutical formulations. However, to evade its application-oriented challenges, modification of retrograded starch is required. The study emphasizes influence of dry heating and the dual heat treatment by dry heating amalgamation with the vacuum heat treatment on quality parameters of retrograded starch. The starch was isolated by using two different extraction media (0.05 % w/v NaOH and 0.03 % citric acid) from Alocasia macrorrhizos and then retrograded separately. Further, retrograded starches were first modified by dry heating and afterwards modified with combination of dry and vacuum heating. Modification decreased moisture, ash content and increased solubility. Modified Samples from NaOH media had higher water holding capacity and amylose content. X-ray diffraction revealed type A and B crystals with increasing crystallinity of retrograded heat-modified samples from NaOH media. Thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry confirmed thermal stability. Shear tests showed shear-thinning behavior whereas dominant storage modulus (G / ) over loss modulus (G // ), depicting gel-like behavior. Storage, loss, and complex viscosity initially increased, then decreased with temperature. In-vitro release reflects, modified retrograded starches offers versatile drug release profiles, from controlled to rapid. Gastrointestinal cancers are one among the most frequently reported cancers where colorectal and gastric cancers ranks third leading cause of cancer related death worldwide. Phloroglucinol, a well-known therapeutic agent for cancer, where its usage has been limited due to its poor water solubility and bioavailability. Hence, our study aims to synthesize and characterize Hyaluronan grafted phloroglucinol loaded Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN-PG-HA). Our nano-formulation hasn't shown any teratogenic effect on Zebrafish embryos, no hemolysis and toxic effect with normal fibroblast cells with a maximum concentration of 300 μg/mL. The cumulative drug release profile of MSN-PG-HA showed a maximum drug release of 96.9 % with 5 mM GSH under redox responsive drug release, which is crucial for targeting cancer cells. In addition, the MSN-PG-HA nanoparticles showed significant a cytotoxic effect against HCT-116, AGS and SW-620 with IC 50 values of 86.5 μg/mL, 80.65 μg/mL and 109.255 μg/mL respectively. Also, the cellular uptake assay has shown an increased uptake of FITC-labeled-MSN-PG-HA by HA-receptor mediated endocytosis than FITC-labeled-MSN-PG without HA modification in CD44+ gastrointestinal cancer cell lines. The ability of MSN-PG-HA to target CD44+ cells was further exploited for its application in cancer stem cell research utilizing in silico analysis with various stem cell pathway related targets, in which PG showed higher binding affinity with Gli 1 and the simulation studies proving its effectiveness in disrupting the protein structure. Oxidative stress disorders and diseases caused by drug-resistant bacteria have emerged as significant public health concerns. Plant-based medications like protease inhibitors are growing despite adverse effects therapies. Consecutively, in this study, trypsin inhibitors from Dioscorea bulbifera L. (DbGTi trypsin inhibitor) ground tubers were isolated, purified, characterized, and evaluated for their potential cytotoxicity, antibacterial, and antioxidant activities. DbGTi protein was purified by Q-Sepharose matrix, followed by trypsin inhibitory activity. The molecular weight of the DbGTi protein was found to be approximately 31 kDa by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis. The secondary structure analysis by circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy revealed that the DbGTi protein predominantly comprises β sheets followed by α helix. DbGTi protein showed competitive type of inhibition with V max  = 2.1372 × 10 -1  μM/min, K m  = 1.1805 × 10 2 μM, & K i  = 8.4 × 10 -9 M and was stable up to 70 °C. DbGTi protein exhibited 58 % similarity with Dioscorin protein isolated from Dioscorea alata L. as revealed by LC-MS/MS analysis. DbGTi protein showed a non-toxic effect, analyzed by MTT, Haemolytic assay and in vivo studies on zebrafish model. DbGTi protein significantly inhibited K. pneumoniae and has excellent antioxidant properties, confirmed by various antioxidant assays. The utilization of banana fiber derived from micro-cellulose (MC) was exploited as a supporting material for advanced oxidation process (AOP) on the degradation of methylene blue and methyl violet dyes in the presence of H 2 O 2 -UV in aqueous medium for the first time using green chemistry protocols. Additionally, it was also effectively utilized for the adsorption of methylene blue dye using addition of H 2 O 2 in the presence of sunlight. The MC powder was fabricated using an acid alkali process from the pseudo-stem of a banana tree. The as-fabricated MC powder was systematically characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX), and zero point charge (pH zpc ). The AOP assisted degradation of dye molecules was monitored by using calorimetric techniques as a function of dye concentration and pH in a batch reactor. In a short period of time, the maximum degradation efficiency of 98 % of methylene blue was achieved using MC powder assisted H 2 O 2 under UV irradiation at a minimum irradiation time of 120 min at pH 7.0 using dosage of 0.2 g/L. However, in the absence of UV light, the degradation efficiency of MC powder assisted H 2 O 2 was only about 5-10 % without UV light irradiation. The dye removal was studied as a function of various operational parameters such as pH (3-11), catalyst dose (0.2-0.6 g/L), and initial dye concentration (100-400 mg/L). In the presence of H 2 O 2 -sunlight and 0.2 g/L of dosage at pH 7.0 at a minimum contact time of 120 min, MC fiber showed maximum adsorption capacities of 98% and 85% for 100 mg/L and 400 mg/L of methylene blue concentrations. According to the obtained data, the adsorption of methylene blue dye on MC follows the Freundlich isotherm model (R 2  = 0.9886) and pseudo-first-order kinetic model (R 2  = 0.9596) due to the higher regression coefficients. The substantial nutritional content and diversified biological activity of plant-based nutraceuticals are due to polyphenolic chemicals. These chemicals are important and well-studied plant secondary metabolites. Their protein interactions are extensively studied. This relationship is crucial for the logical development of functional food and for enhancing the availability and usefulness of polyphenols. This study highlights the influence of protein types and polyphenols on the interaction, where the chemical bindings predominantly consist of hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds. The interaction between polyphenolic compounds (PCs) and digestive enzymes concerning their inhibitory activity has not been fully studied. Therefore, we have examined the interaction of four digestive enzymes (α-amylase, pepsin, trypsin, and α-chymotrypsin) with four PCs (curcumin, diosmin, morin, and 2',3',4'-trihydroxychalcone) through in silico and in vitro approaches. In vitro plate assays, enzyme kinetics, spectroscopic assays, molecular docking, and simulations were performed. We observed all these PCs have significant docking scores and preferable interaction with the active site of the digestive enzymes, resulting in the reduction of enzyme activity. The enzyme-substrate binding mechanism was determined using the Lineweaver Burk plot, indicating that the inhibition occurred competitively. Among four PCs diosmin and morin has the highest interaction energy over digestive enzymes with IC 50 value of 1.13 ± 0.0047 and 1.086 ± 0.0131 μM. Kinetic studies show that selected PCs inhibited pepsin, trypsin, and chymotrypsin competitively and inhibited amylase in a non-competitive manner, especially by 2',3',4'-trihydroxychalcone. Patients and healthcare systems stand to gain much from the use of substances that can accelerate wound healing. In this research work, a polymeric patch was fabricated using polymers like poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and Moringa oleifera gum (MO) incorporated with graphene oxide (GO) and naringin (Nar) (drug). This study determined the impact of using PVA/MO/GO/Nar polymeric patch on wound healing via in vitro and in vivo investigations. Graphene oxide was synthesized by modified Hummer's method. The synthesized sample was characterized using XRD, FT-IR, RAMAN Spectroscopy, FESEM and HRTEM. Antibacterial analysis of the GO on four different bacteria was studied through well diffusion, colony count, growth curve and biofilm assay. Biocompatibility was analysed by haemolysis assay. The microwave assisted pretreatment on sugarcane leaf (SCL) biomass for delignification was studied to enhance cellulose digestibility. In this work, microwave assisted with additives were used to delignification SCL for maximize sugar yield recovery. Single factorial and Central composite design (CCD) were employed to optimize the microwave assisted pretreatment conditions for improve delignification efficiency and the sugar yield recovery. The optimized pretreatment conditions were determined to be 4 min pre-treatment time, 500 W microwave power, 1.0 M Na 2 CO 3 and 10 % biomass loading condition produce maximum reducing sugar yield (601 mg g -1 ) and glucose sugar yield (231 mg g -1 ) were achieved during saccharification. Pretreated biomass produced reducing sugar and glucose yields that were 4.5 and 4.1 times higher than those of untreated (native) SCL-N biomass, respectively. Additionally, the recyclability study of black liquor, obtained from optimized conditioned treatment of SCL-MSC (Microwave-assisted sodium carbonate pretreated SCL) resulted in considerable saccharification yield up to three pretreatment cycles. The 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR spectra studies illustrate that aromatic units present in SCL fractionated lignin samples. The variations of structure features and chemical compositions of the raw and pretreated SCL biomass were analyzed by SEM, XRD and XPS analysis. Wounds were considered as defects in the tissues of the human skin and wound healing is said to be a tedious process as there are possibilities of infection or inflammation due to microorganisms. Modern moisture-retentive wound dressing (MMRWD) is opening a new window toward wound therapy. It comprises different types of wound dressing that has classified based on their functionality. Selective polysaccharide-polypeptide fiber composite materials such as hydrogels, hydrocolloids, hydro fibers, transparent-film dressing, and alginate dressing are discussed in this review as a type of MMRWD. The highlight of this polysaccharide and polypeptide based MMRWD is that it supports and enhances the healing of different types of wounds by moisture absorption thus preventing infection. This study has given enlightenment on the application of selected polysaccharide and polypeptide based MMRWD that enhances wound healing actions still it has been observed that the composite wound healing dressing is more effective than the single one. The nano-sized materials (synthetic nano drugs and phyto drugs) were found to increase the efficiency of healing action while coated in the wound dressing material. An open wound or sore on the bottom of the foot caused by diabetes is known as a diabetic foot ulcer. Preventive measures are essential, including consistent foot care and glycemic management. The dangers associated with diabetic foot ulcers can be reduced via early identification and timely treatment. The risk of foot ulcers and limb amputation increases with age and duration of diabetes. Quercetin contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Furthermore, the calcium carbonate/silica (CaCO 3 /SiO 2 ) nanocomposite has a good anti-inflammatory property due to the presence of calcium, which will aid in wound healing. As a result, combining quercetin (plant based anti-inflammatory drug) and CaCO3/SiO2 nanocomposite will boost the wound healing rate. We have synthesized CaCO 3 /SiO 2 nanocomposite in sol-gel method and characterized using XRD, FTIR and TEM. Cell line tests and the MTT assay revealed that the PLGA/gelatin/CaCO 3 /SiO 2 /quercetin patch enhanced the proliferation of cells. Its anti-bacterial efficacy against four major bacterial strains often found in wound locations, as well as its water retention, make it an ideal material for diabetic wound healing. Hemorrhage stands out as a leading factor contributing to fatalities in trauma cases. Hemorrhage is associated with the process of hemostasis. Hemostasis is the primary stage of wound healing. Hydrogels can aid in hemostasis and minimize the duration of wound healing. Calcium is one of the clotting factors and is a key component for the activation of the coagulation cascade. In this work, we have developed a polymeric hydrogel matrix made up of κ-carrageenan and sodium alginate containing a calcium silica nanocomposite and a natural drug, namely the bark of L. coromandelica. The nanocomposite was characterized using various modalities such as XRD, FTIR, FESEM and HRTEM. The rheological and morphological properties of the pure and composite hydrogels were examined. The antimicrobial activity, hemocompatibility and hemostatic efficacy of the materials were studied using various in vitro assays including bacterial growth curve analysis, colony counting, anti-biofilm assay, hemolysis assay and in vivo clotting studies. The aim of the study was to comparatively evaluate chitosan and Cobalt incorporated chitosan (CoCH) scaffold at varying concentrations in terms of their material characteristics, cytotoxicity and cell adhesion potential. In the present study, cobalt incorporated chitosan scaffolds at varying concentrations were prepared and dried. The synthesised scaffolds were characterised using XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX and BET which revealed amorphous, porous surface of CoCH scaffolds and FTIR analysis showed the complexation confirming the chelation of cobalt with chitosan. The experimental scaffolds proved to be non-cytotoxic when compared to chitosan scaffolds on XTT analysis. Cell-seeding assay revealed enhanced adherence of hDPSCs to CoCH scaffold at 1:1 ratio in the concentration of 100 mL of 100 μmol/L cobalt chloride solution in 100mL of 2% chitosan solution, when compared to other groups. Hydrogels are copiously studied for tissue engineering, drug delivery, and bone regeneration owing to their water content, mechanical strength, and elastic behaviour. The preparation of stable and mechanically strengthened hydrogels without using toxic crosslinkers and expensive approaches is immensely challenging. In this study, we prepared Carboxymethyl cellulose based hydrogels with different polymer concentration via a less expensive physical crosslinking approach without using any toxic crosslinkers and evaluated their mechanical strength. In this hydrogel system, the carbopol concentration was fixed at 1 wt/v% and the Carboxymethyl cellulose concentration was varied between 1 and 5 wt/v%. In this hydrogel system, Carbopol serves as the crosslinker to bridge Carboxymethyl cellulose polymer through hydrogen bonds. Rheological analysis was employed in assessing the mechanical properties of the prepared hydrogel, in particular, the viscoelastic behaviour of the hydrogels. The viscoelastic nature and mechanical strength of the hydrogels increased with an increase in the Carboxymethyl cellulose polymer concentration. Further, our results suggested that gels with Carboxymethyl cellulose concentration between 3 wt/v % and 4 wt/v % with yield stresses of 58.83 Pa and 81.47 Pa, respectively, are potential candidates for use in transdermal drug delivery. The prepared hydrogels possessed high thermal stability and retained their gel network structure even at 50 °C. Encapsulation of DNA vaccines onto carriers enhances the immunogenicity of an antigen. Specifically, biodegradable polymers offer sustained release of vaccines which is crucial for any targeted delivery approach. Poly (lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) microspheres were used to load a DNA vaccine having a targeted gene of outer membrane protein (OMP) of Aeromonas hydrophila to clone and construct a DNA vaccine using a eukaryotic expression vector system (pVAX1-OMP DNA) and delivery in Carassius auratus against A. hydrophila infection. PLGA microspheres were prepared by emulsion technique oil-in-water and characterized by a High-Resolution Scanning Electron Microscope (HR-SEM). The results of PLGA-pVAX1-OMP DNA microspheres shows that average of 100-150 μm particle size and a loading efficiency (LE) of 68.8 %. Results indicate that C. auratus fed with PLGA-pVAX1-OMP DNA microspheres revealed a significant improvement in innate immune response, which includes, myeloperoxidase activity, respiratory burst and total immunoglobulin level compared with control group fish. The immune-related gene, IL1β, IL10, TGF, c-type, and g-type lysozyme also showed significantly higher expression after immunization. Furthermore, dietary supplementation of the PLGA-pVAX1-OMP DNA (G III) group exhibited a significantly higher survival rate (78 %) than the control group of fish. Critical-sized bone defects resulting from severe trauma and open fractures cannot spontaneously heal and require surgical intervention. Limitations of traditional bone grafting include immune rejection and demand-over-supply issues leading to the development of novel tissue-engineered scaffolds. Nuciferine (NF), a plant-derived alkaloid, has excellent therapeutic properties, but its osteogenic potential is yet to be reported. Furthermore, the bioavailability of NF is obstructed due to its hydrophobicity, requiring an efficient drug delivery system, such as chitosan (CS) hydrogel. We designed and fabricated polylactic acid (PLA) scaffolds via 3D printing and integrated them with NF-containing CS hydrogel to obtain the porous biocomposite scaffolds (PLA/CS-NF). The fabricated scaffolds were subjected to in vitro physicochemical characterization, cytotoxicity assays, and osteogenic evaluation studies. Scanning electron microscopic studies revealed uniform pore size distribution on PLA/CS-NF scaffolds. An in vitro drug release study showed a sustained and prolonged release of NF. The cyto-friendly nature of NF in PLA/CS-NF scaffolds towards mouse mesenchymal stem cells (mMSCs) was observed. Also, cellular and molecular level studies signified the osteogenic potential of NF in PLA/CS-NF scaffolds on mMSCs. Furthermore, a thorough exploration encompassed the sensor's intricate fabrication processes, the diverse range of materials employed, the underlying principles of detection, and an in-depth assessment of the sensors' efficacy in detecting glucose levels within essential bodily fluids such as human blood serums, urine, saliva, and interstitial fluids. It is worth noting that the accurate quantification of glucose concentrations within human blood has been effectively achieved by utilizing classical enzymatic sensors harmoniously integrated with optical and electrochemical transduction mechanisms. Monitoring glucose levels in various mediums has attracted exceptional attention from industrial to academic researchers for diabetes management, food quality control, clinical medicine, and bioprocess inspection. There has been an enormous demand for the creation of novel glucose sensors over the past ten years. Research has primarily concentrated on succeeding biocompatible and enhanced sensing abilities related to the present technologies, offering innovative avenues for more effective glucose sensors. Recent developments in wearable optical and electrochemical sensors with low cost, high stability, point-of-care testing, and online tracking of glucose concentration levels in biological fluids can aid in managing and controlling diabetes globally. In designing and fabricating scaffolds to fill the bone defects and stimulate new bone formation, the biomimetics of the construct is a crucial factor in invoking the bone microenvironment to promote osteogenic differentiation. The conversion of lignocellulosic waste to energy offers a cost-effective biofuel. The current study discusses the utilization of cellulose in rice husks by lichen-associated Streptomyces sp. MS2A via carbohydrate metabolism. Out of 39 actinobacteria, one actinobacterial strain MS2A, showed CMCase, FPase, and cellobiohydrolase activity. The whole genome analysis of Streptomyces sp. MS2A showed maximum similarity with Streptomyces sp. CCM&#95;MD2014. The genome analysis confirmed the presence of cellulose-degrading genes along with xylan-degrading genes that code for GH3, GH6, GH9, GH11, GH43, GH51, and 15 other GH families with glycosyl transferase, carbohydrate-binding modules, and energy metabolism groups. Protein family analysis corroborates the enzyme family. Among the 19,402 genes of Streptomyces sp. MS2A, approximately 70 GH family codes for lignocellulose degradation enzymes. The proper disposal of disposable synthetic plastic food packaging materials presents a significant challenge for both the environment and the solid waste management community. To address this issue, an antibacterial-based high-strength bio-composite serves as the optimal alternative to conventional packaging materials. This study aims to produce a hybrid material of AgNPs-carboxyl cellulose nanocrystals (AgNPs-CCNCs), obtained from used egg carton boxes (UECBs), through bio acid hydrolysis and an in-situ generation process. Furthermore, AgNPs- carboxyl cellulose nanofibers (AgNPs-CCNFs) will be synthesized through a combination of bio acid hydrolysis and ball milling, followed by an additional in-situ generation step. The AgNPs-carboxyl nanocellulose (AgNPs-CCNCs, and AgNPs-CCNFs) exhibited excellent crystallinity index, morphology, thermal, and antibacterial properties. The morphological analysis was performed by electron microscopy, and the results showed the uniform distribution and spherical form of AgNPs appearing over the carboxyl nanocellulose through the in-situ generation process, which was confirmed through XRD analysis. The study further explores the impact of AgNPs-carboxyl nanocellulose on the mechanical, chemical, antibacterial, and thermal properties of the PVA matrix. The aim of this research work is to improve the mechanical and water-resistance properties of soy protein isolate (SPI) biofilm. In this work, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) coupling-agent modified nanocellulose was introduced into the SPI matrix in the presence of citric acid cross-linker. The presence of amino groups in APTES facilitated the formation of - cross-linked structures with soy protein. The incorporation of a citric acid cross-linker made the cross-linking process more productive, and the surface smoothness of the film was confirmed by a Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). From the study of the mechanical and thermal properties and water resistance of the film, it was confirmed that the results were highly satisfactory for the modified nanocellulose-incorporated film compared to the non-modified one. Additionally, coating of citral essential oil onto SPI nanocomposite film displayed antimicrobial properties due to the presence of various phenolic groups in the citral oil. The Tensile Strength and Young's Modulus of silane-modified nanocellulose containing film were enhanced by ∼119 % and ∼ 112 %, respectively on incorporation of 1 % APTES-modified nanocellulose. Consequently, this work is expected to offer an effective way for silylated nano-cellulose reinforcing soy protein isolate (SPI)-based bio nanocomposite films for packaging applications. Supply of safe drinking water is a high-risk challenge faced internationally. Hybrid technologies involving nanomaterials can offer possible solutions to this research involving natural biopolymers. Porous chitosan with a high specific surface area has promising properties but its use as a membrane component in water purification is still rarely reported. Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) is a carbon nitride allotrope with a graphene-like layered structure that gifts unfamiliar physicochemical properties due to the presence of s-triazine fragments. It is a metal-free semiconductor with a band gap of ∼2.7 eV to ∼3.7 eV; which shows better visible light-activated photocatalyst properties. This work aims at synthesizing graphitic carbon nitride-biopolymer composite and exploring its properties in the field of wastewater treatment. The samples were synthesized via a soft chemical process with urea, as the source material. The flake-like morphology is displayed in the microstructural SEM image. The composition of the material was analyzed using EDS. Thermogram shows that the material is stable up to 500 °C and also confirms the formation of graphitic carbon nitride. In XRD spectra the intensity reduction shows the chitosan inclusion at the nitride site. The band gap of the prepared material was identified to be 2.3, 2.4 eV. The structural properties were analyzed using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer and Raman spectroscopy. FTIR spectra and Raman spectra indicate the stretching vibration modes of CN and CN heterocycles and chitosan inclusion in the carbon nitride network. The photocatalytic activity was done in sunlight and a UV lamp with different dyes for doped and undoped g-C 3 N 4 . The doped (Porous/Non-porous chitosan) g-C 3 N 4 showed faster dye degradation in sunlight compared to UV light. A biomolecular interaction study was done using Bovine serum albumin. It shows the material interaction with the BSA protein. The anti-microbial activity was performed on the Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli by disk diffusion method, the chitosan doped g-C 3 N 4 showed good inhibitions against bacterial growth. The current work reveals the impact of nanoscale chitosan nanostructures doped on the optical, microstructural, catalytic, and antimicrobial properties of g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets. In the current study, the use of microwave-assisted sodium hydroxide medium (MWSH) for pre-treatment and saccharification of rice straw to obtain sugar syrup for the production of 5-hydroxymethyl furfural (5-HMF) was investigated. The optimization of the MWSH pre-treatment was carried out using central composite methodology, resulting in a maximum reducing sugar yield of 350 mg/g of treated rice straw (TRS) and a glucose yield of 255 mg/g of TRS under the conditions of a microwave power of 681 W, a NaOH concentration of 0.54 M, and a pre-treatment time of 3 min. Additionally, the microwave assisted transformation of sugar syrup with titanium magnetic silica nanoparticle as catalyst, producing 41.1 % yield of 5-HMF from the sugar syrup after 30 min microwave irradiation at 120 °C with catalyst loading of 2.0:200 (w/v)). The structural characterization of the lignin was analysed using 1 H NMR techniques, and the surface carbon (C1s spectra) and oxygen (O1s spectra) composition changes of the rice straw during pre-treatment were analysed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Human awareness of the need for health and wellness practices that enhance disease resilience has increased as a result of recent health risks. Plant-derived polysaccharides with biological activity are good candidates to fight diseases because of their low toxicity. Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Hook.f. & Thomson polysaccharides extract from different plant parts have been reported to possess significant biological activity such as anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, immunomodulatory, anti-diabetic, radioprotective and hepatoprotective. Several extraction and purification techniques have been used to isolate and characterize T. cordifolia polysaccharides. Along with hot-water extraction (HWE), other novel techniques like microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), pulsed electric field (PEF), supercritical-fluid extraction (SFE), and enzyme-assisted extraction (EAE) are used to extract T cordifolia polysaccharides. SFE is a revolutionary technology that gives the best yield and purity of low-molecular-weight polysaccharides. According to the findings, polysaccharides extracted and purified from T. cordifolia have a significant impact on their structure and biological activity. As a result, the methods of extraction, structural characterization, and biological activity of T. cordifolia polysaccharides are covered in this review.
