Compared with dissipative chaos, conservative chaos is more suitable for information encryption since it does not have attractors, therefore, it is important to construct different complicated conservative chaotic systems. This paper reports an effective approach to construct a class of 4D conservative systems based on the formalism of a generalized Hamiltonian system. Based on the construction approach, several example systems including one hyperspatial multicluster chaotic system are proposed, and different cluster-shaped chaotic flows are discovered in these example systems. The only difference of these example systems is their Hamiltonians, whose local minimum points directly determine the number and position of these cluster-shaped conservative chaotic flows. Numerical simulations vividly demonstrate that different cluster-shaped chaotic flows really move around different local centers, i.e. the local minimum points of the Hamiltonian. In addition, an analog circuit is designed and simulated in NI Multisim to confirm the existence of multicluster conservative chaotic flows at the physical level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Chaotic systems have high potential for engineering applications due to their extremely complex dynamics. In the paper, a five-dimensional (5D) Kolmogorov-like hyperchaotic system is proposed. First, the hyperchaotic property is uncovered, and numerical analysis shows that the system displays the coexistence of different kinds of attractors. This system presents a generalized form of fluid and forced-dissipative dynamic systems. The vector field of the hyperchaotic system is decomposed to inertial, internal, dissipative and external torques, respectively, and the energies are analyzed in detail. Then, the bound of the 5D dissipative hyperchaos is estimated with a constructed spherical function. In the literature, there are few conservative chaotic systems which are not obviously conservative according to their equations. This paper reports a 3D time-reversible symmetric chaotic system without equilibrium. The matrix form of the new system shows that there exists a Hamiltonian, which can exhibit interesting spatial structures (isosurfaces) controlled by different initial conditions. Numerical results shows that different initial conditions lead to different dynamical behaviors, such as quasi-periodic motion and conservative chaos. This paper proposes a class of nonlinear systems and presents one example system to illustrate its interesting dynamics, including quasiperiodic motion and chaos. It is found that the example system is a subsystem of a non-Hamiltonian system, which has a continuous curve of equilibria with time-reversal symmetry. In this study, the dynamical evolution of the example system with three different kinds of external excitations are fully investigated by using general chaotic analysis methods such as Poincaré sections, phase portraits, Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation diagrams. Both theoretical analysis and numerical simulations show that the example system is nonconservative but has conservative chaotic flows, which are numerically verified by the sum of its Lyapunov exponents. Solving the linear first-order Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) derived from the unified Lorenz system, it is found that there is a unified Hamiltonian (energy function) for the Lorenz and Chen systems, and the unified energy function shows a hyperboloid of one sheet for the Lorenz system and an ellipsoidal surface for the Chen system in three-dimensional phase space, which can be used to explain that the Lorenz system is not equivalent to the Chen system. Using the unified energy function, we obtain two generalized Hamiltonian realizations of these two chaotic systems, respectively. Moreover, the energy function and generalized Hamiltonian realization of the Lü system and a four-dimensional hyperchaotic Lorenz-type system are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, several three-dimensional (3-D) four-wing smooth quadratic autonomous chaotic systems are analyzed. It is shown that these systems have similar features. A simpler and generalized 3-D continuous autonomous system is proposed based on these features which can be extended to existing 3-D four-wing chaotic systems by adding some linear and/or quadratic terms. The new system can generate a four-wing chaotic attractor with simple topological structures. Some basic properties of the new system is analyzed by means of Lyapunov exponents, bifurcation diagrams and Poincaré maps.
