Diaphyseal tibial fractures are very common in dogs and would be presented in a variety of forms. Among all fracture repair modalities, plating is the most popular and effective technique for fracture management. This case was subjected to detailed orthopedic and radiographic examination and comprehensive study including lameness grade, functional outcome, radiographic evaluation and postoperative complications. The lameness grade was improved on immediate postoperative day in this case and the functional outcome was graded as excellent. Radiographic evaluation indicated primary healing in this case. An one year old male dog was referred for acute non-weight bearing lameness and plantigrade stance with left hock touching the ground due to trauma. The case was diagnosed as complete achilles tendon rupture and surgical repair was undertaken. Post-operatively, the limb was immobilized with modified Thomas splint for four weeks. After four weeks, the dog was found able to bear partial weight. The splint was removed and a simple padded bandage was applied for another one month and passive physiotherapy was advocated. A two year old female Labrador was presented with angulation and deviation of right antebrachium at the carpal joint without significant lameness. The contra-lateral limb had a normal stance and the animal had no history of trauma. Medio-lateral radiograph confirmed significant curvature of distal part of antebrachium. Corrective osteotomy under general anesthesia followed by dynamic compression bone plating of the radius resulted in marked improvement in angulation of the affected limb. Complete weight in affected limb was achieved by 10thpost operative day and the animal appeared comfortable with a near normal stance in both the limbs. A male dog was presented with history of accident and non weight bearing lameness of right fore limb. Physical examination revealed swelling and crepitus at mid arm region. Radiography of humerus revealed complete oblique diaphyseal fracture of distal one third humerus. Patient fracture assessment score was three. A Bull dog was presented with history of pelvic limbs lameness and reduced weight bearing capacities of hind limbs due to fall from height. The diagnostic, clinical findings and neurological evaluation concluded peripheral neuropathy due to pressure injuries on nerves or nerve plexus.
