The article presents the results of several studies related to chemotherapy. A retrospective analysis of a U.S. managed care database revealed that atorvastatin significantly reduces the risk of cardiovascular events as compared with simvastatin. A study in Canada discovered that statin therapy following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) decreases mortality rates to a lesser extent for women than for men. Another study indicated that montelukast may be beneficial for treating the common cold.
