By using a mixed-ligand approach, a new Co(II)-based coordination polymer (CP) with the chemical formula of {[Co2(BIP)2(L)]·2H2O}n (1) (H4L = 5,5′-(triazole-2,5-diyl)diisophthalic acid, BIP = 4,4′-bis(imidazol-1-yl)phenyl) has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopic, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. To explore the activity of complex 1 on the treatment of acute glomerulonephritis (AGN), the mice model was constructed first. Then, the mice were given complex 1 for treatment and the level of 24-h urine protein contents was evaluated. Next, the RT-PCR was performed to detect the relative expression of important inflammatory factors for revealing the related mechanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
