The Integral Managerial Base Units of Technical Services (UEBIST) constitute from 2009 a new link inside the current organizational structure of the agricultural companies of the Ministry of the Agriculture (Minag). Their successful operation depends, in great measure, of the implementation of new mechanisms for the management, especially in technical maintenance and repair of agricultural machines, which can be achieved by means of indicators. The present study has the objective to show the results of the application of a methodology to evaluate the management of the maintenance and repair of the tractors considering four management indicators: Mean Time Among Failures, Mean Time for the Repair, Readiness of Machines and Cost for the Elimination of the Fails. The methodology was applied under the peculiar conditions of the UEBIST of the Agricultural Company of Artemisa. As a result it was settled down that the values obtained for each one of the evaluated indicators are below the values recommended by the specialized bibliography. Taking in consideration these results, an action plan was elaborated to elevate the level of the activities related with the technical maintenance and the repair of agricultural machinery.
