The paper presents the insights and observations of the interventions where fifteen retired senior citizens were trained in using an online learning platform to get productively engaged by utilising their dormant knowledge resource to impart quality education from their home to rural underprivileged school students for three years. This Action Research programme demonstrates that use of Internet and Web 2.0 Technologies by senior citizens not only helps them to get involved in a productive activity but also directly engage themselves in the development process of improving the learning outcomes of underprivileged school children in rural India. The article presents several case studies of ageing women who are productive in their districts in India. It is said that ageing women are not cursed nor blessing in the society and which is not a frightening experience for women. It is noted that economic importance of women are often not mentioned in which they still continue to be a productive in spite of the old age. It is cited that ageing women have the capabilities to be a root for social change.
