The IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC 2013) was held on January 11-14, 2013 at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel. The conference started on the last day of CES 2013, at which, for the first time, a new, consolidated IEEE booth highlighted innovation and scholarship in various engineering disciplines relevant to consumer electronics. IEEE ComSoc's part of the booth featured selected research prototype demonstrations from IEEE CCNC demonstration session participants, as well as samples of publications and calls for papers of our conferences, and information on IEEE ComSoc sponsored standards and standardization projects. The IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC 2015), the leading international conference dedicated to driving the advance of networked consumer technologies, will hold its 12th annual meeting of global communications experts from January 9 - 12, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Information about the Annual Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Inc. Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC) held in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2010 is presented. The event included technical seminars, workshops, and demonstrations. Speakers addressed a wide spectrum of topics such as peer-to-peer networking, social television, video streaming, location-aware services and intelligent vehicle communications.

In January, 2004 Communications Society's first IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC '04), took place in Nevada. By all measures the venue was a complete success. CCNC '04 attracted over 340 registrants to hear 12 technical papers and 35 poster presentations, see 20 technical demos and experience eight panels including one Distinguished Expert Panel. And those presenting their work came from 31 countries. To help make the program possible, 17 volunteers served on the Organizing and Steering Committees, 64 on the Technical Program Committee, and 120 received submissions. By society norms, of the approximately 50 meetings and conferences sponsored by the society each year, CCNC is not the largest, and there are quite a few that are smaller, especially their more intimate workshops. If the CCNC statistics for volunteer support is to be considered and scaled to encompass all such conferences, the number become very impressive. Furthermore, like the proverbial iceberg where so much is not visible to the casual viewer, this count does not include the many volunteers who are busily engaged in facilitating the society's educational programs and noteworthy publications.

Every year in January, researchers working on consumer communications and networking come together for the IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking conference in Las Vegas. Major themes of the conference are Emerging Consumer Technologies and Applications, Peer-to-Peer Networking and Content Distribution, Security and Content Protection, Multimedia and Entertainment Networking and Services, Smart Spaces and Personal Area Networks, and Wireless Consumer Communications and Networking. Each of these themes forms a separate track in the conference program. In addition, the conference is host to a series of Special Sessions and Workshops as well as prototype demonstrations. Information about the History Sessions at the GLOBECOM 2008 which was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is noted by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Communication Society (ComSoc) President Doug Zuckerman that the events were the first ever sessions on history at a major ComSoc Conference. The first session was opened with an invited lecture by ComSoc member Steve Weinstein on the origins of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing.
