Over the past two years, the spread of COVID-19 has spurred the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in aid of healthcare. The need to guarantee continuity to care has promoted research and industry activities aimed at developing solutions for the digitalization of the procedures to be performed to provide health services, even in emergency scenarios. Digital collection, transmission, and processing of health data represent the starting point for fulfilling this innovation process but also bring heterogeneous challenges. These motivations led to the elaboration of this work, which analyzes innovative and technological tools for the development of digital health (eHealth) through the collection of multisectoral literature, produced thanks to the cooperation of varied research groups, thus providing a multidisciplinary survey. Since digital health is expected to be one of the leading applications of the sixth-generation (6G) wireless cellular networks, this paper covers the related telecommunications aspects. Furthermore, the exploitation of artificial intelligence paradigms to elaborate massive amounts of biological data is examined. Given the extreme sensitivity of health data, this paper also investigates security and privacy issues. In particular, the main techniques and approaches to guarantee security properties (i.e., anonymity, responsibility, authentication, confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and revocability) are studied. Applications involving innovative electromagnetic systems for healthcare and assisted living services are described to provide an example of an eHealth scenario leveraging ICT. Finally, the telemedicine-related regulations of the European Commission are analyzed, with particular reference to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

For the last few years, cases of applying artificial intelligence (AI) to engineering activities towards sustainability have been reported. Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) provides a potential to systematically reach higher and productivity levels, owing to its holistic perspective and consideration of economic and environmental targets. To address the current gap to more systematic deployment of AI with LCE (AI-LCE) we have performed a systematic literature review emphasizing the three aspects:(1) the most prevalent AI techniques, (2) the current AI-improved LCE subfields and (3) the subfields with highly enhanced by AI. A specific set of inclusion and exclusion criteria were used to identify and select academic papers from several fields, i.e. production, logistics, marketing and supply chain and after the selection process described in the paper we ended up with 42 scientific papers. The study and analysis show that there are many AI-LCE papers addressing Sustainable Development Goals mainly addressing: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure; Sustainable Cities and Communities; and Responsible Consumption and Production. Overall, the papers give a picture of diverse AI techniques used in LCE. Production design and Maintenance and Repair are the top explored LCE subfields whereas logistics and Procurement are the least explored subareas. Research in AI-LCE is concentrated in a few dominating countries and especially countries with a strong research funding and focus on Industry 4.0; Germany is standing out with numbers of publications. The in-depth analysis of selected and relevant scientific papers are helpful in getting a more correct picture of the area which enables a more systematic approach to AI-LCE in the future.

The purpose of this paper is to show concisely how we can promote chatbots in the medical sector and cure infectious diseases. We can create awareness through the users and the users can get proper medical solutions to prevent disease. We created a preliminary training model and a study report to improve human interaction in databases in 2021. Through natural language processing, we describe the human behaviors and characteristics of the chatbot. In this paper, we propose an AI Chatbot interaction and prediction model using a deep feedforward multilayer perceptron. Our analysis discovered a gap in knowledge about theoretical guidelines and practical recommendations for creating AI chatbots for lifestyle improvement programs. A brief comparison of our proposed model concerning the time complexity and accuracy of testing is also discussed in this paper. In our work, the loss is a minimum of 0.1232 and the highest accuracy is 94.32%. This study describes the functionalities and possible applications of medical chatbots and explores the accompanying challenges posed by the use of these emerging technologies during such health crises mainly posed by pandemics. We believe that our findings will help researchers get a better understanding of the layout and applications of these revolutionary technologies, which will be required for continuous improvement in medical chatbot functionality and will be useful in avoiding COVID-19.

The key objective of this paper is to explore the recent state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) applications on the broad field of beamforming. Hence, a multitude of AI-oriented beamforming studies are thoroughly investigated in order to correctly comprehend and profitably interpret the AI contribution in the beamforming performance. Starting from a brief overview of beamforming, including adaptive beamforming algorithms and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation methods, our analysis probes further into the main machine learning (ML) classes, the basic neural network (NN) topologies, and the most efficient deep learning (DL) schemes. Subsequently, and based on the prior aspects, the paper explores several concepts regarding the optimal use of ML and NNs either as standalone beamforming and DOA estimation techniques or in combination with other implementations, such as ultrasound imaging, massive multiple-input multiple-output structures, and intelligent reflecting surfaces. Finally, particular attention is drawn on the realization of beamforming or DOA estimation setups via DL topologies. The survey closes with various important conclusions along with an interesting discussion on potential future aspects and promising research challenges.

Using machine learning (ML) techniques like deep learning (DL) for accelerated design (forward and inverse) of metasurfaces has attracted great interest. However, most studies are focused on using relatively regular and less complex patterns for specific photonics applications. In this paper, we report significant improvements of our prior developed DL model tested on complex and random metasurfaces by combining the the Network Architecture Search (NAS) method and the spatial symmetry information of the complex metasurfaces. It is found that a shallow and wide neural network will provide better performance for the complex and physics based metasurfaces problem, which is in contrast to the deep trend in existing DL models. Our method can now accurately identify the EM response locations from arbitrary random and complex metasurfaces while the conventional models fail to accomplish. It can also accurately predict the EM response curve by injecting correct symmetry information into the architecture design step. Thus this paper offers a platform to distill the influence of different fundamental operations for complex metasurface design problems. In future, it may play an essential role in determining the most suitable neural network for the complex metasurface problems. Finally, we are sharing this home-generated physics-based dataset [SUTD polarized reflection of complex metasurfaces (SUTD-PRCM)] for future testings from the research community that we believe the best DL model is yet to be found.

Education is a vital part of the development of society and it is changing over time in terms of methods, content, concepts, and models. Recently, it has been increasingly prevalent to benefit from the potentialities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in addressing educational issues. In this research, the current state of the art of the integration of AI in K-12 education was provided. Specifically, different parts of education in which AI was employed along with the related AI categories were discussed according to different K-12 grades and courses. Additionally, technologies and environments that contributed to employing AI in education were discussed. To this end, a systematic literature review was conducted on articles and conference papers published between 2011 and 2021 in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. As the result of the initial search, 2075 documents were extracted and based on inclusive criteria and 210 documents were identified for further investigation. AI applications were categorized into Student performance, Teaching, Selection, and Behavior tasks, and Other. Machine Learning (ML) and Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) were the most common approaches among AI categories. Furthermore, high school-related applications were more frequent and STEM courses were substantially targeted by AI. In conclusion, the remarkable impact of AI on education was concluded. The current study reveals information about the potentialities offered by AI in K-12 education which aids researchers in implementing AI-based education systems. As for future works, other databases such as ACM library and Google Scholar can be investigated as well. Furthermore, exploring the 95 papers that were excluded due to inaccessibility to their full texts can be taken into account. Finally, the papers can be also investigated in terms of pedagogical approaches or development tools.

Recent advances in hardware and communication technologies have accelerated the deployment of billions of wireless sensors. This transformation has created a wide range of applications adapted to the evolving trends of our daily life requirements. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) could be deployed in several target areas including buildings, forests, oceans, and smart cities. Nevertheless, finding the optimal location for each sensor node is a challenging task, typically when the environment involves heterogeneous obstacles. Many approaches and methods have been proposed to deal with the problem of WSN deployment, each addressing one or more objectives and constraints, such as network coverage, lifetime, connectivity, and energy consumption. The purpose of this survey paper is to provide the needed background to understand and study the WSNs deployment problem with a focus on its two key aspects: the optimization model and the solving methods based on artificial intelligence (AI). Additionally, it covers recent works on WSNs deployment and identifies their advantages and limitations. Furthermore, simulation experiments were carried out to compare the performance of widely used algorithms in the context of WSNs deployment problem, primarily genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, flower pollination, and ant colony optimization. Finally, this paper discusses and highlights several open challenges and research issues that should be explored in the future.

The growth of software techniques for implementing applications must go hand in hand with the growth of computer system hardware in the design of multi-core and multi-processor systems; otherwise, we cannot expect to be able to use maximum hardware capacities. One of the most important and challenging techniques for running applications is to run them in parallel with a focus on loop parallelism to reduce execution time. On the other hand, in recent years, many algorithms have been working on volumetric data, i.e., three-dimensional spaces; therefore, parallelization must be possible for all types of two-dimensional and three-dimensional loops. Uniformization is an important part of loop parallelism, and also the present paper’s focus. The proposed algorithm in the present paper performed uniformization with a combination of the frog leaping algorithm and the fuzzy system for two- and three-dimensional loops on a wide range of input dependence vectors and achieved a considerable variety of results in the desired time. The results of this study can be used to facilitate the development of parallel codes.

This study presents a systematic review of the automatic vision-based assessment systems and models from related fields over the last 6 years. Many studies focus on automatic vision-based assessment in the area of robotics, artificial intelligence and virtual reality or augmented reality (AR) to enhance the communication between humans and machines for general purposes. Three reliable databases, IEEEXplore, Science Direct and Web of Science, were used to obtain relevant studies on the given topic. Several stages of filtering and scanning were applied according to the inclusion/exclusion criteria to filter the obtained 3505 papers from 2015 to 2020. Finally, 97 papers met the criteria. They were classified into four main categories based on their field by following the scientific taxonomy: computer-vision-based, robotics-based, AR-based and hybrid-based categories, accounting for 42.26% (n = 41/97 papers), 48.45% (n = 47/97 papers), 6.18% (n = 6/97 papers) and 4.12% (n = 4/97 papers), respectively. Subsequently, a deep and critical analysis of this multifield systematic review highlighted new research opportunities, motivations, challenges and recommendations that need attention to integrate interdisciplinary studies. Thus, automatic vision-based assessment, which is a field requiring automated solutions, tools and methods, enhances the ability of the assistive technology and facilitates the interaction of individuals with machines. Many studies have been conducted on the automatic vision-based assessment systems and their subtypes to promote accurate communication and performance evaluation in human–machine interaction. This study can provide researchers with useful guides and valuable information for future research. This study also addresses the ambiguity of automatic vison-based assessment models in interdisciplinary fields.

Open RAN is an emerging vision and an advancement of the Radio Access Network (RAN). Its purpose is to implement a vendor and network-generation agnostic RAN, provide networking solutions across all service requests, and implement artificial intelligence solutions in different stages of an end-to-end communication path. The 5th Generation (5G) and beyond the 5th Generation (B5G) of networking introduce and support new use cases, such as tactile internet and autonomous driving. The complexity and innovative nature of these use cases require continuous innovation at a high pace in the RAN. The traditional approach of building end-to-end RAN solutions by only one vendor hampers the speed of innovation—furthermore, the lack of a standard approach to implementing artificial intelligence complicates the compatibility of products with the RAN ecosystem. O-RAN Alliance, a community of industry and academic experts in RAN, works on writing Open RAN specifications on top of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards. Founded on these specifications, the aim of this paper is to introduce open research topics in Open RAN that overlap the interests of both AI and telecommunication researchers. The paper provides an overview of the architecture and components of Open RAN, then explores AI use cases in Open RAN. Also, this survey includes some plausible AI deployment scenarios that the specifications have not covered. Open RAN in future cities creates opportunities for various use cases across different sectors, including engineering, operations, and research that this paper addresses.

Computer applications have considerably shifted from single data processing to machine learning in recent years due to the accessibility and availability of massive volumes of data obtained through the internet and various sources. Machine learning is automating human assistance by training an algorithm on relevant data. Supervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement Learning are the three fundamental categories of machine learning techniques. In this paper, we have discussed the different learning styles used in the field of Computer vision, Deep Learning, Neural networks, and machine learning. Some of the most recent applications of machine learning in computer vision include object identification, object classification, and extracting usable information from images, graphic documents, and videos. Some machine learning techniques frequently include zero-shot learning, active learning, contrastive learning, self-supervised learning, life-long learning, semi-supervised learning, ensemble learning, sequential learning, and multi-view learning used in computer vision until now. There is a lack of systematic reviews about all learning styles. This paper presents literature analysis of how different machine learning styles evolved in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for computer vision. This research examines and evaluates machine learning applications in computer vision and future forecasting. This paper will be helpful for researchers working with learning styles as it gives a deep insight into future directions.

The increasing popularity of attention mechanisms in deep learning algorithms for computer vision and natural language processing made these models attractive to other research domains. In healthcare, there is a strong need for tools that may improve the routines of the clinicians and the patients. Naturally, the use of attention-based algorithms for medical applications occurred smoothly. However, being healthcare a domain that depends on high-stake decisions, the scientific community must ponder if these high-performing algorithms fit the needs of medical applications. With this motto, this paper extensively reviews the use of attention mechanisms in machine learning methods (including Transformers) for several medical applications based on the types of tasks that may integrate several works pipelines of the medical domain. This work distinguishes itself from its predecessors by proposing a critical analysis of the claims and potentialities of attention mechanisms presented in the literature through an experimental case study on medical image classification with three different use cases. These experiments focus on the integrating process of attention mechanisms into established deep learning architectures, the analysis of their predictive power, and a visual assessment of their saliency maps generated by post-hoc explanation methods. This paper concludes with a critical analysis of the claims and potentialities presented in the literature about attention mechanisms and proposes future research lines in medical applications that may benefit from these frameworks.

Digital Twin (DT) is bringing revolution to our lives by a digital representation of the physical system. DT is the creation of the joint usage of various technologies like Cyber-Physical System (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Edge Computing (EC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), etc. DTs are established to optimize a wide range of applications of industry, healthcare, smart cities, smart homes, etc. It is still in its early development stages. This paper fills the gaps by combining the extensive information on technologies utilized in the creation of DT in industry and healthcare. The paper focuses on studying the characteristics of DT, communication technologies and tools utilized in the creation of DT models, reference models, standards, and the researcher’s recent work in smart manufacturing and healthcare. Challenges and open issues that need attention are also discussed.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) applications have increased in popularity in recent years because of their ability to incorporate a wide variety of sensors while retaining cheap operating costs, easy deployment, and excellent mobility. However, controlling UAVs remotely in complex environments limits the capability of the UAVs and decreases the efficiency of the whole system. Therefore, many researchers are working on autonomous UAV navigation where UAVs can move and perform the assigned tasks based on their surroundings. With recent technological advancements, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) has proliferated. Autonomous UAV navigation is an example of an application in which AI plays a critical role in providing fundamental human control characteristics. Thus, many researchers have adopted different AI approaches to make autonomous UAV navigation more efficient. This paper comprehensively surveys and categorizes several AI approaches for autonomous UAV navigation implicated by several researchers. Different AI approaches comprise mathematical-based optimization and model-based learning approaches. The fundamentals, working principles, and main features of the different optimization-based and learning-based approaches are discussed in this paper. In addition, the characteristics, types, navigation models, and applications of UAVs are highlighted to make AI implementation understandable. Finally, the open research directions are discussed to provide researchers with clear and direct insights for further research.

The growing importance and widespread adoption of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technologies have helped the enhancement of smart environments in various fields such as manufacturing, smart city, transport, health and the Internet of Things, by providing pervasive real-time applications. In this paper, we analyze the existing research trends of Coverage, Deployment and Localization challenges in WSN concerning Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods for WSN enhancement. We present a comprehensive discussion on the recent studies that utilized various AI methods to meet specific objectives of WSN, from 2010 to 2021. This would guide the reader towards an understanding of up-to-date applications of AI methods with respect to different WSN challenges. Then, we provide a general evaluation and comparison of different AI methods used in WSNs, which will be a guide for for research community in identifying the most adapted methods and the benefits of using various AI methods for solving the Coverage, Deployment and Localization challenges related to WSNs. Finally, we conclude the paper by stating the open research issues and new directions for future research.

A personalized e-learning system is effective in imparting enhanced learning to its users. As compared to a conventional e-learning system, which provides similar contents to each learner, a personalized learning system provides specific learning contents and assessments to the learners. Personalization is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) based techniques in which appropriate contents for each learner are determined using the level of comprehension of the learner and the preferred modes of learning. This paper presents requirements and challenges for a personalized e-learning system. The paper is focused in elaborating four research questions, which are related to identifying key factors of personalized education, elaborating on state of the art research in the domain, utilizing benefits of AI in personalized education, and determining future research directions. The paper utilizes an in-depth survey of current research papers in answering these questions. It provides a comprehensive review of existing solutions in offering personalized e-learning solutions. It also elaborates on different learning models and learning theories, which are significant in providing personalized education. It proposes an efficient framework, which can offer personalized e-learning to each learner. The proposed framework includes five modules i.e Data Module, Adaptive Learning Module, Adaptable Learning Module, Recommender Module, Content and Assessment Delivery Module. Our work also identifies significant directions for future research. The paper is beneficial for academicians and researchers in understanding the requirements of such a system, comprehending its methodologies, and identifying challenges which are needed to be addressed.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a core feature of today’s real-world applications, making it a trending topic within the software engineering (SE) community. The rise in the availability of AI techniques encompasses the capability to make rapid, automated, impactful decisions and predictions, leading to the adoption of AI techniques in SE. With industry revolution 4.0, the role of software engineering has become critical for developing productive, efficient, and quality software. Thus, there is a major need for AI techniques to be applied to enhance and improve the critical activities within the software engineering phases. Software is developed through intelligent software engineering phases. This paper concerns a systematic mapping study that aimed to characterize the publication landscape of AI techniques in software engineering. Gaps are identified and discussed by mapping these AI techniques against the SE phases to which they contributed. Many systematic mapping review papers have been produced only for a specific AI technique or a specific SE phase or activity. Hence, to our best of knowledge within the last decade, there is no systematic mapping review that has fully explored the overall trends in AI techniques and their application to all SE phases.

This paper analyzes Hat, an open-source framework for developing event-driven component-based SCADA applications, and discusses possibilities to add various analytical tools to such platforms. As a part of the contribution, an open-source component called Artificial Intelligence Model Manager (AIMM) has been developed and integrated into a Hat-based SCADA platform. AIMM is extensible through various plugins, allowing the addition of various models for advanced analytics e.g., machine learning tools, statistical tools, etc. The paper describes AIMM architecture and provides a use case in which state estimation was performed in a medium-voltage distribution grid. This case study demonstrates that it is possible to extend component-based SCADA systems with components for advanced analytics with minimal fundamental system changes.

This paper builds upon the theoretical foundations of the Accountable eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (AXAI) capability framework presented in part one of this paper. We demonstrate incorporation of the AXAI capability in the real time Affective State Assessment Module (ASAM) of a robotic system. We show that adhering to the eXtreme Programming (XP) practices would help in understanding user behavior and systematic incorporation of the AXAI capability in Machine Learning (ML) systems. We further show that a collaborative software design and development process (SDDP) would facilitate identification of ethical, technical, functional, and domain-specific system requirements. Meeting these requirements would increase user confidence in ML and AI systems. Our results show that the ASAM can synthesize discrete and continuous models of affective state expressions for classifying them in real-time. The ASAM continuously shares important inputs, processed data and the output information with users via a graphical user interface (GUI). Thus, the GUI presents reasons behind system decisions and disseminates information about local reasoning, data handling and decision-making. Through this demonstrated work, we expect to move toward enhancing AI systems’ acceptability, utility and establishing a chain of responsibility if a system fails. We hope this work will initiate further investigations on developing the AXAI capability and use of a suitable SDDP for incorporating them in AI systems.

The rise of Telemedicine has revolutionized how patients are being treated, leading to several advantages such as enhanced health analysis tools, accessible remote healthcare, basic diagnostic of health parameters, etc. The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their incorporation into Telemedicine extends the potential of health benefits of Telemedicine even further. Therefore, the synergy between AI, IoT, and Telemedicine creates diverse innovative scenarios for integrating cyber-physical systems into medical health to provide remote monitoring and interactive assistance to patients. Data from World Health Organization reports that 7.4 million people died because of Atrial Fibrillation (AF), recognizing the most common arrhythmia associated with human heart rate. Causes like unhealthy diet, smoking, poor resources to go to the doctor and based on research studies, about 12 and 17.9 million of people will be suffering the AF in the USA and Europe, in 2050 and 2060, respectively. The AF as a cardiovascular disease is becoming an important public health issue to tackle. By using a systematic approach, this paper reviews recent contributions related to the acquisition of heart beats, arrhythmia detection, IoT, and visualization. In particular, by analysing the most closely related papers on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and IoT devices in heart disease diagnostics, we present a summary of the main research gaps with suggested directions for future research.

The evolution of the wireless network systems over decades has been providing new services to the users with the help of innovative network and device technologies. In recent times, the 5G network systems are about to be deployed which creates the opportunity to realize massive connectivity with high throughput, low latency, high energy efficiency and security. It also focuses on providing massive Internet of Things (IoT) network connectivity as well as services for good health, large-scale agricultural and industrial production, intelligent traffic control and electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems. However, the ever-increasing number of user devices is directing the researchers towards beyond 5G systems to allocate these user devices with higher bandwidth. Researches on the 6G wireless network systems have already begun to provide higher bandwidth availability for densely connected larger network devices with QoS surety. Researchers are leveraging artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) for enhancing future IoT network operations and services. This paper attempts to discuss AI/ML algorithms that can help in developing energy efficient, secured and effective IoT network operations and services. In particular, our article concentrates on the major issues and factors that influence the design of the communication systems for future IoT with the integration of AI/ML. It also highlights application domains, including smart healthcare, smart agriculture, smart transportation, smart grid and smart industry that can operate efficiently and securely. Finally, this paper ends with the discussion on future research scopes with these algorithms in addressing the open issues of the future IoT network systems.

A smart electric vehicle (EV) charging station energy management system (CSMS) based on blockchain technology, which aims to protect privacy of EV users, ensure fairness of power transactions, and meet charging demands for large numbers of EVs, is proposed in this study. EV charging pile is designed as a local blockchain distributed ledger node, which operates synchronously with blockchain system and blockchain distributed ledger in cloud server. This paper integrates CSMS through smart contracts, providing EV users that ability to conduct power transactions and perform optimal charging and discharging control in real-time. The distributed ledger is in charge of recording all the EV charging and discharging data to maintain fairness of power transactions, protects data from being maliciously tampered, and enables the EV user to monitor status of the EV participating in power transactions and dispatching. The intelligent CSMS consists of an artificial intelligence (AI) module, centralized optimal scheduling module, and decentralized optimal control module. The AI module is responsible for forecasting renewable energy generation and load consumption. There is a two-layer architecture consisting of centralized and decentralized optimal control modules; the upper layer performs optimal charging and discharging scheduling of the entire EV charging station at time 15-min time segments, the bottom layer performs distributed optimal scheduling control in each EV charging pile at 5 min time interval. Proposed system in this paper can deal with feeder congestion and real-time power supply and grid demand imbalance, which are caused by high numbers of EVs.

The world we live in is where a human-machine connection is a barometer, and this tendency is only growing to provide richer and universal human reminiscences. New technologies, as well as the fusion of different classes of current technologies, are used to create such unique solutions. The Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT) is the product of collaboration between robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT), which has opened up incredible potential for localized self-sufficient solutions. Robots can collect accurate data from the environment and provide a comprehensive service instantaneously. Being an amalgamation of two different concepts i.e. IoT and Robotics, the IoRT system is anticipated to benefit both by expanding their potential to innovative heights. This paper gives a concise introduction to the communication architecture of the IoRT system. The taxonomy of various data exchange protocols used in an IoRT system is proposed. The necessary improvements in protocols that are required to enhance communication in an IoRT system are presented. A Review of some data exchange methodologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for secure and reliable communication is also given in this paper. The key motive of this paper is to understand the data exchange within an IoRT system using common communication protocols.

Motors are the higher energy-conversion devices that consume around 40% of the global electrical generated energy. Induction motors are the most popular motor type due to their reliability, robustness, and low cost. Therefore, both condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of induction motor faults have motivated considerable research efforts. In this paper, a comprehensive review of the recent techniques proposed in the literature for broken bar faults detection and diagnosis is presented. This paper mainly investigates the fault detection methods in line-fed and inverter-fed motors proposed after 2015 and published in most relevant journals and conferences. The introduced review has deeply discussed the main features of the reported methods and compared them in many different aspects. Finally, the study has highlighted the main issues and the gaps that require more attention from researchers in this field.

Gesture recognition is an ideal means of interaction because it allows users not to have to make contact with any surface, which is a safe and hygienic means, especially in the pandemic situation that is occurring worldwide. However, gesture recognition is not a new discipline and it has been researched for many years but this type of interaction has not succeeded in replacing the keyboard and mouse. It is very useful to know about the advances that are being made with artificial intelligence in gesture recognition to be able to perform a more robust and reliable gesture recognition with a low response time. As it is, deep learning is being integrated into various areas to increase improvement in performance and one such area is artificial intelligence. In this way, there is the possibility that in the future the recognition of gestures will be a viable option as a means of daily interaction for the user and the main objective of this paper is to contribute to that process. For this reason, this study has analyzed 571 papers related to gesture recognition and artificial intelligence. This analysis has extracted relevant information related to scientific production, such as the most productive authors and journals or the most pertinent articles on the subject. Furthermore, we have developed our own model, which shows the relationship between the types of gesture recognition and the artificial intelligence techniques that have been applied for this task.

Wind speed fluctuations and load demand variations represent the big challenges against wind energy conversion systems (WECS). Besides, the inefficient measuring devices and the environmental impacts (e.g. temperature, humidity, and noise signals) affect the system equipment, leading to increased system uncertainty issues. In addition, the time delay due to the communication channels can make a gap between the transmitted control signal and the WECS that causes instability for the WECS operation. To tackle these issues, this paper proposes an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) as an effective control technique for blade pitch control of the WECS instead of the conventional controllers. However, the ANFIS requires a suitable dataset for training and testing to adjust its membership functions in order to provide effective performance. In this regard, this paper also suggests an effective strategy to prepare a sufficient dataset for training and testing of the ANFIS controller. Specifically, a new optimization algorithm named the mayfly optimization algorithm (MOA) is developed to find the optimal parameters of the proportional integral derivative (PID) controller to find the optimal dataset for training and testing of the ANFIS controller. To demonstrate the advantages of the proposed technique, it is compared with different three algorithms in the literature. Another contribution is that a new time-domain named figure of demerit is established to confirm the minimization of settling time and the maximum overshoot in a simultaneous manner. A lot of test scenarios are performed to confirm the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed ANFIS based technique. The robustness of the proposed method is verified based on the frequency domain conditions that are driven from Hermite-Biehler theorem. The results emphases that the proposed controller provides superior performance against the wind speed fluctuations, load demand variations, system parameters uncertainties, and the time delay of the communication channels.

Facility Layout Problems (FLP) are concerned with finding efficient factory layouts. Numerous resolution approaches are known in literature for layout optimization. Among those, intelligent approaches are less researched than solutions from exact or approximating approaches. The recent surge of research interest in Artificial Intelligence, and specifically Machine Learning (ML) techniques, presages an increase of such techniques' usage in FLP. However, previous reviews on FLP research induce that, to date, this trend has not yet emerged. Utilizing a systematic literature review coupled with a k-Means based clustering algorithm, we analyzed 25 relevant publication full-texts from an original sample of 1,425 papers. Our findings corroborate the statement that ML techniques have attracted substantially less research interest than most other resolution approaches. While a few papers used Unsupervised Learning algorithms directly as a solution to the FLP, Supervised and Reinforcement Learning were found to be practically irrelevant. ML usage was significantly higher in FLP-adjacent planning tasks such as group technology. Drawing from experiences with other NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems in manufacturing research, we conclude that Reinforcement Learning is most promising to bridge the evident gap between FLP and ML research. Our study further contributes to FLP research by extending established classification frameworks.

During the last decades, the volume of multimedia content posted in social networks has grown exponentially and such information is immediately propagated and consumed by a significant number of users. In this scenario, the disruption of fake news providers and bot accounts for spreading propaganda information as well as sensitive content throughout the network has fostered applied research to automatically measure the reliability of social networks accounts via Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this paper, we present a multilingual approach for addressing the bot identification task in Twitter via Deep learning (DL) approaches to support end-users when checking the credibility of a certain Twitter account. To do so, several experiments were conducted using state-of-the-art Multilingual Language Models to generate an encoding of the text-based features of the user account that are later on concatenated with the rest of the metadata to build a potential input vector on top of a Dense Network denoted as Bot-DenseNet. Consequently, this paper assesses the language constraint from previous studies where the encoding of the user account only considered either the metadata information or the metadata information together with some basic semantic text features. Moreover, the Bot-DenseNet produces a low-dimensional representation of the user account which can be used for any application within the Information Retrieval (IR) framework.

The sixth generation (6G) wireless communication network presents itself as a promising technique that can be utilized to provide a fully data-driven network evaluating and optimizing the end-to-end behavior and big volumes of a real-time network within a data rate of Tb/s. In addition, 6G adopts an average of 1000+ massive number of connections per person in one decade (2030 virtually instantaneously). The data-driven network is a novel service paradigm that offers a new application for the future of 6G wireless communication and network architecture. It enables ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC) enhancing information transmission up to around 1 Tb/s data rate while achieving a 0.1 millisecond transmission latency. The main limitation of this technique is the computational power available for distributing with big data and greatly designed artificial neural networks. The work carried out in this paper aims to highlight improvements to the multi-level architecture by enabling artificial intelligence (AI) in URLLC providing a new technique in designing wireless networks. This is done through the application of learning, predicting, and decision-making to manage the stream of individuals trained by big data. The secondary aim of this research paper is to improve a multi-level architecture. This enables user level for device intelligence, cell level for edge intelligence, and cloud intelligence for URLLC. The improvement mainly depends on using the training process in unsupervised learning by developing data-driven resource management. In addition, improving a multi-level architecture for URLLC through deep learning (DL) would facilitate the creation of a data-driven AI system, 6G networks for intelligent devices, and technologies based on an effective learning capability. These investigational problems are essential in addressing the requirements in the creation of future smart networks. Moreover, this work provides further ideas on several research gaps between DL and 6G that are up-to-date unknown.

Recently, power quality (PQ) issues have drawn considerable attention of the researchers due to the increasing awareness of the customers towards power quality. The PQ issues maintain its pre-eminence because of the significant growth encountered in the smart grid technology, distributed generation, usage of sensitive and power electronic equipments with the integration of renewable energy resources. The IoT and 5G networks technologies have a number of advantages like smart sensor interfacing, remote sensing and monitoring, data transmission at high speed. Due to this, applications of these two are highly adopted in smart grid. The prime focus of the paper is to present an exhaustive survey of detection and classification of power quality disturbances by discussing signal processing techniques and artificial intelligence tools with their respective pros and cons. Further, critical analysis of automatic recognition techniques for the concerned field is posited with the viewpoint of the types of power input signal (synthetic/real/noisy), pre-processing tools, feature selection methods, artificial intelligence techniques and modes of operation (online/offline) as per the reported articles. The present work also elaborates the future scope of the said field for the reader. This paper provides valuable guidelines to the researchers those having interest in the field of PQ analysis and exploring the better methodologies for further improvement. Comprehensive comparisons have been presented with the help of tabular presentations. Although this critical survey cannot be collectively exhaustive, still this survey comprises the most significant works in the concerned paradigm by examining more than 300 research publications.

In this paper, we propose a multi-branch neural network architecture named Coupled Modular Neural Network (CMNN). A CMNN is a network consisting of $\beta $ closely coupled sub-networks, where $\beta $ is termed as the branching factor in this paper. We call the whole network a super-graph and each sub-network a sub-graph. Each sub-graph is a stand-alone neural network and shares a common block with other sub-graphs. To effectively leverage the super-graph we propose a simple but easy-to-implement Round-Robin-based learning algorithm. Each training iteration contains two phases. In the first phase, we choose a sub-graph in a Round-Robin fashion and train it using knowledge of the super-graph (distillation). In the second phase, we fine-tune the super-graph based on the updated sub-graphs. This algorithm produces a different copy of the super-graph at each iteration which acts as an improved teacher network for the sub-graph; and a different copy of one of the sub-graphs which functions as a new building block for the super-graph. To validate and test CMNN and the proposed algorithm, we conduct experiments on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, Tiny ImageNet and a private On-Road-Risk (ORR) datasets. Empirical results on all these four datasets indicate that we not only obtain a strong sub-graph network, the learning framework can also produce strong ensemble performance which substantiates the diversity introduced throughout the learning framework.

Violence against women and children is a public health issue of pandemic proportions. It is estimated that one in every three women worldwide has experienced physical, emotional, or sexual violence. Similarly, each year one out of two children are victims of some form of violence including domestic aggression and bullying. Due to the widespread use of the Internet and social media, women and children are now vulnerable to other types of violence such as cyber-bullying and online sexual or emotional harassment. To help alleviate this social problem, the use of computer science and related technologies has been leveraged in recent years. The Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, ubiquitous and mobile computing, pattern recognition, cloud computing and similar technologies, have been used to formulate solutions to detect and prevent violent acts against women and children. In this paper, a systematic review of some of the efforts that can help address the problem of violence against women and children is presented. This paper describes the current state-of-the-art of these contributions and identifies trends, architectures, technologies, and current open challenges. The survey was developed using a literature review of academic documents published from 2010 to 2020. The contributions were categorized into four application domains: online detection, offline detection, safety, and education. These contributions were further categorized based on the computer science approaches and technologies used: artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and digital serious games.

Early detection of COVID-19 positive people are now extremely needed and considered to be one of the most effective ways how to limit spreading the infection. Commonly used screening methods are reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen tests, which need to be periodically repeated. This paper proposes a methodology for detecting the disease in non-invasive way using wearable devices and for the analysis of bio-markers using artificial intelligence. This paper have reused a publicly available dataset containing COVID-19, influenza, and Healthy control data. In total 27 COVID-19 positive and 27 healthy control were pre-selected for the experiment, and several feature extraction methods were applied to the data. This paper have experimented with several machine learning methods, such as XGBoost, k-nearest neighbour $k$ -NN, support vector machine, logistic regression, decision tree, and random forest, and statistically evaluated their perfomance using various metrics, including accuracy, sensitivity and specificity. The proposed experiment reached 78 % accuracy using the $k$ -NN algorithm which is significantly higher than reported for state-of-the-art methods. For the cohort containing influenza, the accuracy was 73 % for $k$ -NN. Additionally, we identified the most relevant features that could indicate the changes between the healthy and infected state. The proposed methodology can complement the existing RT-PCR or antigen screening tests, and it can help to limit the spreading of the viral diseases, not only COVID-19, in the non-invasive way.

Increasing prevalence and simplicity of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, Steganography is shifting from conventional model building to AI model building. AI enables computers to learn from their mistakes, adapt to emerging inputs, and carry out human-like activities. Traditional Linguistic Steganographic approaches lack automation, analysis of Cover text and hidden text volume and accuracy. A formal methodology is used in only a few Steganographic approaches. In the vast majority of situations, traditional approaches fail to survive third-party vulnerability. This study looks at evaluation of an AI-based statistical language model for text Steganography. Since the advent of Natural Language Processing (NLP) into the research field, linguistic Steganography has superseded other types of Steganography. This paper proposes the positive aspects of NLP-based Markov chain model for an auto-generative cover text. The embedding rate, volume, and other attributes of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) Steganographic schemes are contrasted in this article between RNN-Stega and RNN-generated Lyrics, two RNN methods. Here the RNN model follows Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) neural network. The paper also includes a case study on Artificial Intelligence and Information Security, which discusses history, applications, AI challenges, and how AI can help with security threats and vulnerabilities. The final portion is dedicated to the study’s shortcomings, which may be the subject of future research.

At present, most logistics systems, especially those dedicated to e-commerce, are based on artificial intelligence techniques to offer better services and increase outcomes. However, the variety and complexity of resource allocation, as well as task scheduling, denote that dynamic environments have still great challenges to overcome. So advanced models based on strong algorithms are required. Introducing advanced models into scheduling solutions is a promising way to enhance logistics efficiency. As a result, managing system resources remain essential to optimize task scheduling respecting the interactive impacts, and logistics systems requirements. In response to these challenges, in this paper, a powerful solution based on a Long short-term memory (LSTM) model is proposed to optimize resource allocation and to enhance task scheduling in a smart logistics framework. This paper explores some of the most important scheduling techniques and hypothesizes that deep learning techniques might be able to afford accurate approaches. The proposed smart logistics model lays on strong techniques, for that, experimental simulations were conducted using various project instances. The validation tests demonstrated competitive results with important performance rates i.e.: accuracy of 92,44% with a precision of 93,83, a recall of 95.18%, F1-score of 94,92%, and an AUC of 88,17%. These results reveal the proof-of-principle for using LSTM models for effective and truthful logistics operations.

Augmented intelligence (AuI) integrates human intelligence (HI) and artificial intelligence (AI) to harness their strengths and mitigate their weaknesses. The combination of HI and AI has seen to improve both human and machine capabilities, and achieve a better performance compared to separate HI and AI approaches. In this paper, we present a survey of literature to understand how AuI has been applied in the literature, including the roles of HI and AI, AI approaches, features, and applications. Due to the limited literature related to this topic, we also present a survey of expert opinion to answer four main questions to understand the experts’ implications of AuI, including: a) the definition of AuI and the significance of HI in AuI; b) the roles of HI in AuI; c) the current and future applications of AuI in research, industry, and public, as well as the advantages and shortcomings of AuI; and d) end users’ view of the application of AuI. We also present recommendations to improve AuI, and provide a comparison between the findings from the surveys of both literature and expert opinion. The discussion of this paper shows the promising potential of AuI compared to separate HI and AI approaches.

This paper surveys Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods for acquiring and managing context-of-operation awareness of radio communication nodes, links, and networks. The meaning and significance of context information and suitability of Machine Learning (ML) methods for the enrichment of context information is discussed. A number of context features are considered in this regard and thorough analysis on which ML methods are suitable to which part of context learning is provided. The added value of the paper is the presentation of a synthesized framework of context-information processing, sharing, and management in a radio communication network by delineating a network-embedded subsystem for this management. Recommendations for a future AI/ML-based radio communication system architectures are also provided.

The significant increase in the number of individuals with chronic ailments (including the elderly and disabled) has dictated an urgent need for an innovative model for healthcare systems. The evolved model will be more personalized and less reliant on traditional brick-and-mortar healthcare institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term healthcare centers. The smart healthcare system is a topic of recently growing interest and has become increasingly required due to major developments in modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). This paper is aimed to discuss the current state-of-the-art smart healthcare systems highlighting major areas like wearable and smartphone devices for health monitoring, machine learning for disease diagnosis, and the assistive frameworks, including social robots developed for the ambient assisted living environment. Additionally, the paper demonstrates software integration architectures that are very significant to create smart healthcare systems, integrating seamlessly the benefit of data analytics and other tools of AI. The explained developed systems focus on several facets: the contribution of each developed framework, the detailed working procedure, the performance as outcomes, and the comparative merits and limitations. The current research challenges with potential future directions are addressed to highlight the drawbacks of existing systems and the possible methods to introduce novel frameworks, respectively. This review aims at providing comprehensive insights into the recent developments of smart healthcare systems to equip experts to contribute to the field.

Power transformer is a critical and expensive asset in electric transmission and distribution networks. It is essential to monitor the health condition of all power transformer fleet in such networks to avoid unwanted outages. The health index (HI) is a quick and efficient way to assess the condition of power transformers based on multi-criteria. While Power transformer HI method has been well presented in the literature, not much attention was given to handle the uncertainty and reliability of this method due to unavailability of used data. Therefore, this paper aims to tackle this issue through employing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based techniques to reveal the health condition of power transformers with high accuracy and at the same time handling data uncertainty. The proposed HI approach assesses the power transformer insulation system based on oil quality, dissolved gas analysis (DGA), and paper condition. In this regard, collected data from 504, 150-kV transformers are used to establish the proposed AI-models. Seven AI algorithms including k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Naïve Bayes (NB), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Adaptive Boosting (AdaBoost), and Decision Tree are investigated. A performance comparison of the proposed AI-based HI models is carried out using the scoring-weighting-based HI method as the reference. Results show that RF model provides the best performance in predicting power transformer HI with an accuracy of 97.3%.

With the development of artificial intelligence technology, robotic arm picking and path finding based on AI technology has attracted more and more attention. How to use the path search algorithm in a relatively short time is a huge challenge in the optimization of robot picking path. Most of the existing path finding methods based on the A* algorithm have the problems of long search time and non-optimal path. Most of them achieve poor results in the optimization of robotic arm picking paths. This paper proposes an AI intelligent path finding method based on differential evolution and improved A* algorithm. The method mainly achieves fast path search by accurately filtering abnormal conditions to achieve a higher convergence rate. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper has faster search speed and better path selection than the existing methods. The AI intelligent path finding method based on differential evolution and improved A* algorithm for robotic arm picking is feasible and effective.

Due to the complex and changeable surrounding rock geology of the shaft, the design of the shaft blasting is affected by many factors. It is difficult to determine the blasting parameters scientifically and reasonably using traditional methods. Aiming at the above key technical problems, a design method of vertical shaft blasting scheme based on the integration of knowledge base and artificial intelligence (AI) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the characteristic weight of factors affecting the design of the blasting was obtained based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) of particle swarm optimization, and according to the experience of experts, the type of surrounding rock, rock sturdiness coefficient, section shape, and gross diameter were selected as the key indicator for the decision-making of the blasting scheme. Secondly, the expert knowledge base and inference machine are established. This paper puts forward the research method of integrating knowledge base with a relational database, describes and expresses information content with knowledge attributes, and establishes an explosion expert knowledge base based on expert experience, industry norms, and typical cases. The cyclic search algorithm and production rule reasoning strategy were developed, and a hybrid reasoning machine for vertical shaft blasting design was established. Then, a visual intelligent design system for vertical shaft blasting was established by using computer development technology. Finally, the system has been applied in Jinzhuang Coal Mine. Compared with the traditional blasting scheme, the total number of holes in the optimized scheme of the system model is reduced by 8.39%, the single-cycle progress is increased by 11.11%, the hole utilization rate is increased by 10%, and the unit explosive consumption is reduced by 15.57%. The comprehensive effect is good, it provides a new way for vertical shaft blasting design.

Graph embedding models are widely used in knowledge graph completion (KGC) task. However, most models are based on the assumption that knowledge is completely certain, and this is inconsistent with real-world situations. Although there are multiple studies on uncertain knowledge embedding tasks, they often use knowledge confidence to learn embedding and cannot make full use the structural and uncertain information of knowledge. This paper presents a new embedding model named Structural and Uncertain Knowledge Embedding (SUKE), which comprises two components: an evaluator and a confidence generator. For unknown triples, the evaluator learns the structural and uncertain information to evaluate its rationality and obtain a candidate set. The confidence generator then determines the confidence of the candidate set to achieve KGC. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, confidence prediction, triple evaluation, and fact classification tasks are performed on three data sets. Experimental results show that SUKE performs better than mainstream embedding methods. The model proposed in this paper can help advance the research on the embedding of uncertain knowledge graphs.

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to financial investment is a research area that has attracted extensive research attention since the 1990s, when there was an accelerated technological development and popularization of the personal computer. Since then, countless approaches have been proposed to deal with the problem of price prediction in the stock market. This paper presents a systematic review of the literature on Artificial Intelligence applied to investments in the stock market based on a sample of 2326 papers from the Scopus website between 1995 and 2019. These papers were divided into four categories: portfolio optimization, stock market prediction using AI, financial sentiment analysis, and combinations involving two or more approaches. For each category, the initial introductory research to its state-of-the-art applications are described. In addition, an overview of the review leads to the conclusion that this research area is gaining continuous attention and the literature is becoming increasingly specific and thorough.

This paper presents an in-depth study and exploration of the health IoT architecture and related implementation technologies from both theoretical and practical aspects, with important theoretical significance and practical application value. The research includes cloud fusion health IoT architecture, multimodal information acquisition in health IoT perception layer, multi-level service quality assurance of health IoT based on human LAN, and emotional perception and emotional interaction in health IoT. In terms of health IoT architecture, the cloud convergence health IoT architecture is proposed to deeply integrate the health cloud platform and perception layer by integrating multiple communication technologies to optimize the user experience and make health IoT applications more closely connected with people. This paper describes the basic concepts and main components of multimodal sensing information collection, the design and implementation of a health monitoring cloud robotics platform, robotics-based multimodal data sensing and aggregation, and high comfort sustainable physiological signal collection based on smart clothes. The feasibility and performance of the QoS framework proposed in this paper are verified by computer simulations. In this paper, migration learning is used to implement emotion data labeling, continuous conditional random fields to identify emotions based on data collected from smartphones and smart clothes, respectively, and finally decision layer fusion for emotion classification prediction.

In the traditional double auction market, the number of achievable tradable pairs are usually limited by the market size. To solve this problem, we propose new double auction mechanisms based on social networks to realize market expansion. In this paper, we examine the double auction market, which consists of a group of sellers and a group of buyers, where the sellers provide the same type of items, and the buyers respectively purchase one from them. In addition, every buyer can invite other potential buyers to enter the market through social networks. The goal of this paper is to propose mechanisms such that they can encourage buyers already in the market to invite other potential buyers to join the auction through social networks, and achieve an effective allocation of merchandises and increase profits for sellers, which cannot be achieved under the existing double auction mechanism. We found that the extended McAfee auction mechanism cannot motivate existing buyers to invite other potential ones, while the traditional Vickrey-Clark-Groves (VCG) mechanism cannot guarantee to break even. To solve these problems, we propose two mechanisms, which are called information network auction (INA) mechanism and double network auction (DNA) mechanism. Both of these mechanisms can encourage old buyers in the market to invite new potential customers to participate. Moreover, INA focuses on achieving more effective allocation and DNA focuses on ensuring a balance between income and expenditure.

Big data generated from social media and smart mobile devices has been regarded as a key to obtain insights into human behavior and been extensively utilized for launching marketing activities. A successful marketing activity requires attracting high social popularity to their contents, since higher popularity usually indicates stronger influence, more fame and higher revenue. In this paper, we focus on the question of how to improve popularity of videos sharing on websites like YouTube in mobile computing environment. Obviously, composing high quality titles and tags is beneficial for viewers to discover videos of their interests and increase their tendency to watch more videos. However, it is not an easy task for uploaders, which is especially true since the screen is tight for most mobile devices. To this end, this paper proposes a novel hybrid method based on multi-modal content analysis that recommends keywords for video uploaders to compose titles and tags of their videos and then to gain higher popularity. The method generates candidate keywords by integrating techniques of textual semantic analysis of original tags and recognition of video content. On one hand, taking the original keywords of a video as input, the method obtains most relevant words from WordNet and related video titles gathered from the three top video sharing sites (YouTube, Yahoo Video, Bing Video). On the other hand, through recognizing video content with deep learning technology, the method extracts the entity name of video content as candidate keywords. Finally, a TF-SIM algorithm is proposed to rank the candidate keywords and the most relevant keywords are recommended to uploaders for optimizing the titles and tags of their videos. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the social popularity of the videos as well as extend the length of video viewing time per playback.

The node selecting problem of traffic network is a significant issue and is difficult to be solved. In this paper, an artificial slime mold method is proposed to help us solve the problem. First, the chief components of an artificial slime mold are introduced to simulate the foraging behavior of a true slime mold, including external food sources, plasmodium, myxamoeba, nucleus, and nutrients. Then the learning mechanism of nutrient concentration for the artificial slime mold is illustrated, though there is no brain or neuron in its body. After that, the node selecting approach is described according to the propagation capabilities of nodes. Second, the algorithm flow is designed to show how to solve this kind of complex selecting problem. The algorithm flow to select important traffic nodes by artificial slime mold is composed of 4 main steps, including initialization, food searching, feeding, and selecting for output. Third, a comprehensive example is designed and derived from references to certificate that the proposed artificial slime mold can help us select important traffic nodes by their generated traffic topologies. The contributions of this paper are important both for traffic node selecting and artificial learning mechanism in theoretical and practical aspects.

Due to the rapid development of information technology and network technology, there is a lot of data, but the phenomenon of lack of knowledge is becoming more and more serious. Data mining technology has developed vigorously in this environment, and it has shown more and more vitality. Based on Spark programming model, this paper designs the parallel extension of fuzzy c-means. In order to enhance the performance of fuzzy c-means parallel expansion, the improvement strategy of k-means during the initialization phase is borrowed, and k-means// is extended to fuzzy c-means to obtain better clustering performance. Combined with Spark's programming model, this paper can obtain extended parallel fuzzy c-means algorithm. Several experiments on the data set of the algorithm proposed in this paper have shown good scalability and parallelism, effectively expanding fuzzy c-means clustering to distributed applications, greatly increasing the scale of the data processed by the algorithm. This improves the robustness of the algorithm and the adaptability of the algorithm to the shape and structure of the data, so that the parallel and scalable clustering algorithm can more effectively perform cluster analysis on big data. Three algorithms were simulated on MATLAB platform. We use simple data sets and complex two-dimensional data sets, and compare with the traditional fuzzy c-means algorithm and fuzzy c-means algorithm based on fuzzy entropy. Experiments show that the scalable parallel fuzzy c-means algorithm not only greatly improves the anti-noise performance, but also improves the convergence speed, and it can automatically determine the optimal number of clusters.

Recent developments in technology have introduced dramatic changes to the practice of the accounting profession. This paper provides a comprehensive review of current developments in big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain utilized in general business practice and by specialized practitioners in the accounting profession worldwide. This paper explores the evolution of the accounting profession following these recent technological developments and assesses the impact of future developments. Inherent challenges and opportunities posed by these new technologies pertaining to accounting professionals and accounting educators are also examined, including an increased demand for IT professionals with accounting experience as opposed to accounting major graduates. Considering the dramatic changes and developments of AI applications in accounting, this paper reflects how all these technologies and the associated requirements of job candidates will affect the desired capabilities of accounting graduates and provides further discussion regarding what higher institutions and their accounting graduates can do to adopt such changes.

With the advancements in machine and deep learning algorithms, the envision of various critical real-life applications in computer vision becomes possible. One of the applications is facial sentiment analysis. Deep learning has made facial expression recognition the most trending research fields in computer vision area. Recently, deep learning-based FER models have suffered from various technological issues like under-fitting or over-fitting. It is due to either insufficient training and expression data. Motivated from the above facts, this paper presents a systematic and comprehensive survey on current state-of-art Artificial Intelligence techniques (datasets and algorithms) that provide a solution to the aforementioned issues. It also presents a taxonomy of existing facial sentiment analysis strategies in brief. Then, this paper reviews the existing novel machine and deep learning networks proposed by researchers that are specifically designed for facial expression recognition based on static images and present their merits and demerits and summarized their approach. Finally, this paper also presents the open issues and research challenges for the design of a robust facial expression recognition system.
