This study presents a new high step-up resonant converter for renewable energy applications. Since, renewable sources introduce relatively low voltage, it is necessary to step up the voltage in order to be used in regular applications. The proposed converter has employed a coupled inductor and a switched capacitor to step up the output voltage. An active clamp circuit has been adopted to guarantee zero voltage switching for the switches. Also, the clamp capacitor has been implemented in series with the output capacitor so as to more extend output voltage. Furthermore, the converter operates in resonant mode, resulting in lower switching losses, zero current switching (ZCS) for diodes with low di/dt, and high voltage gain. The proposed converter has been analyzed thoroughly and the results have been validated through simulation.

Nonlinear and unbalanced loads produce power quality pollution to interfaced power systems. Also, photovoltaic systems implementation could worst the situation without proper functioning of active power filters. Now, available active power filters are suffering from to fully suppress interfaced power grid harmonics and distortions under highly unbalanced and nonlinear loads. In this paper, a new approach for combined operation of active power filters and photovoltaic systems under highly unbalanced and nonlinear loads in three phase four wire distribution network is presented. A novel ZA-INC maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is proposed for effective operation of photovoltaic system even under sudden environmental condition variations. Also, a switching topology based on adaptive hysteresis current controller is used to reduce THD under %5 in compliance with IEEE-519 and IEC61000-3 standards. The effectiveness of proposed overall control strategy is validated with MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can inject maximum available power from PV panel into the grid, and simultaneously correcting power factor, load balancing, harmonics elimination, and reactive power compensation under highly unbalanced and non-linear loads.
