This paper is the result of a classroom experience carried out in the subject Contemporary World at a Higher Education Institution for Teacher Training, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. he aim was to demonstrate the current importance of the space metaphor: "left and right" in politics and education. In this class, it arises as a primary need to teach students that reality is unavoidably crossed by ideologies which, in turn, influence their own ways of perception. his study retells part of that class experience as an attempt to overcome the political illiteracy sadly set up in our teacher training classrooms. The main interest was focused on raising student awareness that education and teaching practices are political and that they assume ideals of man and world that always have a tendency (left or right), which we should also be aware of to know --among other things- what for, whom and from what position we are educating.
