The article presents a case study and strategies for mitigating musical tinnitus. It is stated that musical tinnitus is the awareness of an autonomous self-perpetuating musical piece or fragment that a patient recognizes as internal and progresses to obnoxious repetitiveness. For a 56-year-old woman with a musical history, tinnitus was reported after deterioration of sensorineural hearing but not after cochlear implantation. As medication, donepezil and meclobemide may have helped in the past.
