A new report presents fresh data on blast injuries, specifically focusing on mobile battery blast injuries in children. The study reviewed case sheets of children with these injuries at a tertiary eye care center in India from January 2015 to March 2022. The research found that battery blast-induced ocular injuries often lead to poor outcomes, with only 36% of eyes achieving vision better than 6/60. The most common causes of the blasts were wiring a bulb to the battery or charging the battery with a universal mobile charger.
