The article focuses on relevance of effective communications for the profession of golf course superintendents and presents the author's experience for the same including role of as pleasant environment in effective communication, information retention capacity of listeners and speaking rate.

The article features the annual conference of the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) in Toronto, Ontario in January 2005. It presents the evidence of the success of the conference. The contributions of past president Jim McGarvey to CGSA are cited.
