The article presents a baseball anecdote concerning the night life in Montreal, Quebec. When the Chicago Cubs visited the city to play the former Montreal Expos, then-manager Herman Franks tried a trick to see if his players were breaking curfew, giving the hotel doorman a baseball for late-returning players to autograph. Franks arose shortly after dawn to find none of his players had autographed the ball, because they had yet to return to the hotel.
