High‐resolution present‐day earth surface deformation maps from satellites provide important data constraints, which help us better understand tectonic processes and analyze seismic hazards. Here, we use Sentinel‐1 Radar images (2014–2020) and accurate positioning measurements (2009–2019) to get a high‐resolution three‐dimensional earth surface velocity map for the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, and we invert the slip rate and coupling ratio of major regional faults. We find ∼4 mm/yr uplift along an arc from the Qilianshan to Lajishan, relative to the neighboring low‐elevation area to the east, which indicates ongoing rapid orogeny. We find transient deformation along the Laohushan and 1920 M8.5 Haiyuan rupture segments of the Haiyuan fault, whereas the western Haiyuan, southern Liupanshan, central Lajishan and central‐western West Qinling faults are essentially locked above 15–20 km, suggesting a potentially high seismic hazard. This region has several large‐scale active faults that hosted some destructive earthquakes in the last 100 years. Although intensively studied, the fault kinematics of those seismogenic faults are still not clear, mainly because of poor observational constraints. Hence, high‐resolution present‐day deformation maps are essential to answering this question, either of scientific or societal concern. We provide satellite‐based ground deformation rate maps with mm‐accuracy for this region. They show shallow fault creep along some segments of the Haiyuan fault which is better constrained than previous results, active tectonic uplift in the Lajishan. Our work gives new constraints for the seismic hazard for the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau case. The cloud classification algorithm widely used in the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) tends to underestimate low clouds over the Tibetan Plateau (TP), often mistaking water clouds for high‐level clouds. To address this issue, we propose a new algorithm based on cloud‐top temperature and optical thickness, which we apply to TP using Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) geostationary satellite data. Compared with Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System cloud‐type products and ISCCP results obtained from AHI data, this new algorithm markedly improved low‐cloud detection accuracy and better aligned with cloud phase results. Validation with lidar cloud‐type products further confirmed the superiority of this new algorithm. Diurnal cloud variations over the TP show morning dominance shifting to afternoon high clouds and evening mid‐level clouds. Winter is dominated by high clouds, summer by mid‐level clouds, spring by daytime low clouds and nighttime high clouds, and autumn by low and mid‐level clouds. However, satellite‐based methods often miss these clouds, misclassifying them as high‐level clouds. Quantitative understanding of the land water loading is a prerequisite to the construction of reliable tectonic deformation velocity field in the Tibetan Plateau (TP). Here, for the first time, we image the three‐dimensional crustal loading deformation velocity field of each land water component in the TP. Our results reveal that the loading signal strength of the six land water components ranks from largest to smallest as groundwater, glacier, lake, soil water, permafrost, and snow, with the maximum vertical velocity close to ±1.60 mm/yr and the maximum horizontal velocity exceeding 0.40 mm/yr. All land water components can achieve a strong enough vertical loading velocity exceeding the present‐day Global Positioning System (GPS) velocity at some sites. But for horizontal loading, apparent impacts are only from glacier, lake and groundwater, however, are very limited, with the absolute ratio of loading velocity to GPS velocity being smaller than 5% at almost all the sites. Plain Language Summary: The crustal kinematic characteristics and uplift mechanism of the Tibetan Plateau (TP) have been widely studied based on the three‐dimensional deformation velocity field from Global Positioning System (GPS) measurements. However, except for tectonic signal, the land water loading effect is also involved in GPS observation and may lead to the biased tectonic interpretation of GPS deformation velocity field. In this study, we construct a set of three‐dimensional crustal loading deformation velocity fields for the TP based on the state‐of‐the‐art multi‐component land water mass change fields constrained by multi‐source data spanning ∼20 years. The effect of topography on shortwave downward radiation (SWDR) is interest in the geoscience. However, such effects are rarely quantiatively and systematically evalulated, especially over the Tibetan Plateau region. With the geostationaly satellite measurements and topographic radiation model, this study reveals a heightened significance of topography on SWDR with increasing slope. Particularly in abrupt terrain (slopes >15°) the impact becomes pronounced, wherein the topographic radiative forcing (TRF) contributes 9.5% of the annual‐average SWDR. And the ratio of TRF to SWDR reaches a peak during winter, exceeding 150%. In annual‐average scales, the SWDR is 169 ± 38.4 W/m2 and the corresponding TRF is 16.2 ± 22.6 W/m2. Seasonal variations manifest on northern and southern slopes, with the sourthern slopes significant in summer, while the northern ones significant in winter. Notably, topographic effects persist across spatial scales and remain evident at 5 km resolution, emphasizing the necessity of considering topography in SWDR product utilization. This study comrephensively examines the topographic influence on SWDR across the Tibetan Plateau for the first time. We investigate the influence of diverse topographic factors on the distribution of surface shortwave radiation in mountainous terrains. With the slope increasing, the impact of topography on SWDR becomes more and more significant. The topographic impact of northern and sourthern slopes behaves obvious seasonal variations, with the sourthern slopes significant in summer, while the northern ones significant in winter. With the increasing of spatial scale, the topographic effect gradually decreases and tends to be stable, but it can never disappear. As remote sensing data resolution coarsens, topographic radiative forcing diminishes, but even at 5 km resolution, terrain significantly affects SWDR distribution. Vegetation growth is influenced by the microclimate driven by aspects, as evident in the asymmetric vegetation greenness on polar‐facing slopes (PFS) and equatorial‐facing slopes (EFS). However, it remains uncertain whether aspects influence vegetation phenology. To address this question, we defined the aspect‐induced phenological differences between PFS and EFS from 2019 to 2022 within each 3 × 3 km2 grid, using average phenological metrics extracted from Sentinel‐2 data. We found that the start of the growing season (SOS) occurs earlier on EFS in cold and humid regions, but in arid areas, PFS has an earlier SOS. The end of the growing season (EOS) consistently occurred later on EFS due to radiation limitations in autumn phenology. Employing the space‐for‐time approach, the observed distribution of phenological differences within the climate space could potentially indicate the phenological trends of different slope orientations in the future. Our study provides valuable insights into topographic regulation on vegetation phenology. Based on this, we hypothesized that the phenology of grassland in the Three Rivers Source Region on the Tibetan Plateau is influenced by aspects. To test this hypothesis, we calculated the phenological differences between PFS and EFS within each 3 × 3 km2 grid using average phenological metrics derived from Sentinel‐2. Our findings reveal that, for the start of the growing season (SOS), EFS exhibited an earlier onset in regions with low temperature and high precipitation, whereas for regions with high temperature, the growing season starts earlier on PFS. In contrast, over 70% of the grassland area on EFS experiences a later end of the growing season (EOS) due to radiation being a major limiting factor of autumn phenology. In addition, we utilized the space‐for‐time approach to project potential future phenological changes on PFS and EFS. Our study enhances comprehension of vegetation ecological management and carbon sequestration in mountainous areas. The complex and diverse cloud vertical distribution (CVD) largely impacts radiative and precipitation properties of clouds. Using 10‐year active satellite observations, we classified CVD over the Tibetan Plateau into 12 categories and found that overlapping clouds have less frequency but stronger radiative effect, heating rate and larger precipitation (partly reflecting the seeding effect) compared with single‐layer non‐strong convective clouds. Under a warming climate due to uniform sea surface temperature increase of 4K (quadrupling CO2 increase), extremely high (>10 km) ice clouds will increase, particularly those below the tropopause will increase slightly (largely), accompanied by clear (weak) increases in stratospheric clouds. Simultaneously, a moderate to rapid decrease will occur in clouds below 10 km. Such CVD changes could further exacerbate tropopause warming. The probability of cloud overlap is also likely to increase in warmer climates, thus possibly further causing non‐convective cloud systems with stronger intra‐atmospheric heating, larger precipitation intensity and proportion.
