Methods of evaluation of interlaboratory comparison results are prescribed by ISO standards. Ruler is probably one of the most widely used length measuring instrument in the world. For laboratories that plan to be accredited for the calibration of Ruler, the acquisition of a specialized Measuring bench is not economically feasible. Confidence in the measured result depends on the measurement uncertainty, and where deficiencies are observed, the values that contribute to the measurement uncertainty should be investigated. This paper describes an interlaboratory comparison for a small number of laboratories on the example of a Measuring bench for calibrating Ruler and indicates the procedure for problem identification; diagnosis of causes; consideration of solutions; initiation of action for improvement and monitoring of the results of applied solutions. The authors documented the problem and listed the elements that contributed to "Unsatisfactory" result in interlaboratory comparisons. They described the actions they took to overcome the "Unsatisfactory" result, analyzed whether the proposed solutions led to "Satisfactory" result and took actions accordingly. The paper presents the results of the international interlaboratory comparison, which are a confirmation of the competence of the personnel, measuring calibration equipment and calibration method.

CADASTRAL maps , *GLOBAL Positioning System , *VECTOR data , *MAPS , *HOMOGENEITY - Abstract
One of the biggest problems in the Slovak cadastre is the quality of maps. Approximately half of them require a new mapping. The quality of the other half is also not high, and they include local shifts. The paper deals with a proposal for a new way of their renewal Cadastral Operate Renewal by Correction (RbC). This process is based on a transformation of the part of the map with local shifts using a new GNSS measurement. The process has three main stages-homogeneity analysis, transformation, and final control. 1he result of the RbC process is a renewed cadastral map without any local shifts. Another goal of this paper is to test this process in a choosen cadastral unit and to analyse the results. If the testing is successful, this process could be a fast and cheap alternative to a new mapping in case of these cadastral maps with local shifts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become increasingly important as a tool for quickly collecting high-resolution (spatial and spectral) imagery of the Earth's surface. The final products are highly dependent on the choice of values for various parameters in flight planning, the type of sensors, and the processing of the data. In this paper ground control points (GCPs) were first measured using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) method, and then due to the low height accuracy of the GNSS RTK method all points were measured using a detailed leveling method. This study aims to provide a basic assessment of quality, including four main aspects: (1) the difference between an RGB sensor and a five-band multispectral sensor on accuracy and the amount of data, (2) the impact of the number of GCPs on the accuracy of the final products, (3) the impact of different altitudes and cross flight strips, and (4) the accuracy analysis of multi-altitude models. The results suggest that the type of sensor, flight configuration, and GCP setup strongly affect the quality and quantity of the final product data while creating a multi-altitude model does not result in the expected quality of data. With its unique combination of sensors and parameters, the results and recommendations presented in this paper can assist professionals and researchers in their future work.

The paper discusses the application of geodetic methods of deformation analysis of reinforced concrete structures made of prestressed concrete. In the paper, two independent methods of deformation analysis are applied on the example of the Ratkov Laz bridge in Montenegro, based on two epochs of geodetic measurements in a 3D geodetic network, which consists of the reference part of the network and points on the bridge. The results of the Pelzer’s method and the robust IWST method were analyzed. Although similar displacement vectors are obtained using the two methods, there are some differences in the identification of unstable points on the bridge. The IWST method identified significantly fewer points as unstable compared to the Pelzer’s method. The aforementioned methods of deformation analysis are of great importance in the geodetic observation of all types of engineering facilities.

In books and textbooks on map projections, cylindrical, conic and azimuthal projections are usually considered separately. It is sometimes mentioned that cylindrical and azimuthal projections can be interpreted as limiting cases of conic, but this is rarely proven. The goal of this article is to show in a rigorous and systematic way how to generally approach solving the problem of transition from a conic to a corresponding cylindrical projection. This article points to the fact that J. H. Lambert showed as early as 1772 that a conformal cylindrical projection is created from a conformal conic projection. Following his idea, this paper shows that not only conformal, but also equal-area and equidistant cylindrical projections can be derived from corresponding conic map projections. Although it seems that the paper deals with quite well known and intuitive property of conic projections, it will also show that the transition from the conic to the corresponding cylindrical projection is not always possible.

BUILDING information modeling , *POINT cloud , *OPTICAL scanners , *AERIAL photogrammetry , *AUTOMATIC identification , *PLUMBING - Abstract
The use of point clouds in extracting data for building information modelling (BIM) has become common Recently. Managers of older buildings are working to centralise information. Documentation about mechanical installations, plumbing electricity and previous interventions is often stored on scattered media, frequently still on paper. In the transformation of the material world into the digital world, the point cloud is the starting point, containing information about the material world obtained by Various means such as photogrammetry terrestrial or aerial laser scanning. Manual BIM modelling for management, maintennance and future use is a time-consuming and error-prone poems We would like to automate this process and avoid these errors. Recently their have been developed an increasing number (stand-alone programmes and add-ons that provide automated fast, and more accurate modelling based on point cloud data. In this paper tee present an investigation into the possibilities for automating the creation of BIM modelling from point cloud data. The result is a semi-automated process for modelling individual BIM elements, which we have tested on specific examples of modelling individual elements (walls, pipes, and columns). We note that despite the automation of the process, a high level of user interaction is still required to produce good quality models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GEOID , *DATA distribution , *LEAST squares , *STANDARD deviations , *GRAVITY - Abstract
This paper presents an attempt to consider whether it is possible to determine a geoid at the centimetre level in the territory of Egypt based on recently available global and local gravity field data. The paper has two main objectives. Firstly, the paper overviews previously published geoid solutions, while the second objective investigates the performance of the recent global geopotential models (GGM) in Egypt. The existing geoid solutions have illustrated that there is an insufficient distribution of data which is sampled inconsistently. At this time, data deficiency still exists, and to overcome it, we have selected a "data window" and applied the Least Square Collocation (LSC) technique. The outcome from LSC was interesting and acceptable, and we obtained a "sample" geoid that has a standard deviation of 11 cm for the external control points. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

UNIFIED modeling language , *COMMONS , *FOREST management , *LAND use , *COMMUNITIES - Abstract
This paper presents the process of real estate reallocation as a mass cadastral subdivision process of agrarian communities’ customary rights. The agricultural communities have existed for centuries and have been jointly owning and using the common land. Such gatherings were developed mainly due to the unique requirements deriving from land use and relief characteristics, such as joint forest management on mountain slopes. The main objective of this research has been to analyse the process of real estate subdivision, which has its legal background in Slovenian legislation. In this paper, the process of cadastral subdivision of land owned by agricultural communities is presented as a mass cadastral land subdivision process: from preparatory work to the new geometric structure of the common land. The cadastral, organisational, and engineering role of the chartered surveying engineer and the surveying company is examined. An aim of the paper is, inter alia, to develop a conceptual model of the process that will serve as a basis for optimisation, for a more just and more efficient distribution of assets among community members. The course of the individual steps of the community established land subdivision is shown with unified modelling language (UML) activity diagrams. As a case study, we have considered the subdivision of the property of the agricultural community of Zgornja Sorica in Slovenia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

These characteristics are analysed in more detail and presented in the case of the Slovenian housing market. The purpose of this paper is to present the dilemmas faced in Slovenia when reporting on real estate prices on the market and present the solutions that the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia will begin to introduce in its reports on the real estate market.

The use of point clouds in extracting data for building information modelling (BIM) has become common recently. Managers of older buildings are working to centralise information. Documentation about mechanical installations, plumbing, electricity, and previous interventions is often stored on scattered media, frequently still on paper. In the transformation of the material world into the digital world, the point cloud is the starting point, containing information about the material world obtained by various means such as photogrammetry, terrestrial or aerial laser scanning. Manual BIM modelling for management, maintenance and future use is a time-consuming and error-prone process. We would like to automate this process and avoid these errors. Recently, there have been developed an increasing number of stand-alone programmes and add-ons that provide automated, fast, and more accurate modelling based on point cloud data. In this paper we present an investigation into the possibilities for automating the creation of BIM models from point cloud data. The result is a semi-automated process for modelling individual BIM elements, which we have tested on specific examples of modelling individual elements (walls, pipes, and columns). We note that despite the automation of the process, a high level of user interaction is still required to produce good quality models.

ORAL tradition , *SIXTEENTH century , *CITIES & towns , *INSCRIPTIONS - Abstract
In this paper we present 30 preserved boundary marks of the cadastral municipalities from the period of the Franciscan cadastral survey from 1818 to 1819, which we found in the vicinity of villages of Sežana, Lokev, Rodik, Markovščina and Materija in Slovenia. The studied boundary marks of the cadastral municipalities are 70 cm or more high, mostly with carved inscriptions, sometimes also with coats of arms, or have a form of isolated, larger rocks, which also have carved inscriptions. These boundary marks still mark the official boundaries of the cadastral municipalities today. But some of them also played a more important role in the past, as they marked the boundaries of the districts. Some once had a simultaneous cadastral and trigonometric role, and some still retain this dual role today. Quite a few of these boundary marks are linked to the preserved local oral tradition, associated with the Schwarzenegg estate of the Counts of Petazzi and various mythical monsters that guard the boundaries of the cadastral municipalities. With the help of two of them, Križen drev and Kokoš (Jermanec), we have discovered and proved, how the borders of the cadastral municipalities in this area date back at least to the 16th century. Therefore, we can consider the present-day boundaries of the cadastral municipalities in this area of Slovenia as one of the longest-lasting and preserved spatial division. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

REMOTE-sensing images , *WATER supply , *LANDSAT satellites , *BODIES of water , *AUTOMATIC classification - Abstract
Water resources is crucial for the continuity of life. Therefore, mapping water resources is required. Successful analysis of remotely sensed images can provide reliable information for water researches. However, it is very complex process to ensure that the maps created are not affected by shadows, cloud or other noise. In addition, it is necessary to successfully map all water types in various geographies. It is important that the method used is practical so that scientists who are not image analysts can use the large data pool provided by satellite images. In this paper, a novel algorithm for water body extraction from Landsat imagery is proposed. In this method, Corine data are used as auxiliary data to automatically generate training data. Four study areas with different characteristics, from different parts of the world, are used to test the proposed method. The results obtained are compared with other automatic classification methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INFORMATION modeling , *MARKET value , *VALUATION , *INFORMATION processing - Abstract
The mass valuation of real estate in Slovenia is based on valuation models, which are made based on realised real estate market data and illustrate the functioning of the real estate market .. The system is based on valuation models that simulate the behaviour of the real estate· market and allow a statistically reliable assessment of market value. Models are formed using statistical methods of processing real estate market data. This paper presents the quality verification process and preparation of real estate market data. These data are used to design evaluation models or modelling, which consists of time adjustment of prices or rents, zoning, levelling, calibration, and analysis of quality parameters. Finally, the critical information of the modelling process made in the context of real estate mass valuation in Slovenia. d ts summarise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GEOGRAPHIC spatial analysis , *GEOTAGGING , *TOURIST attractions , *SCHEDULING , *GEOLOGICAL statistics - Abstract
Spatial analysis of the geographic positions of photos taken by tourists enables the monitoring, presentation,, and planning of tourism activities in regard to location. Most photo-sharing websites offer the possibility of geo-tagging the photos to provide geographical information. In this paper, we use the geo-coordinates of photos from the Flickr platform to identify the locations of popular tourist attractions an.d destinations in Slovenia and analyse the mobility patterns of visitors between them. we .analysed samples of 210,,643 photos taken by 11,555 different Flickr users over a twelve-year period between 2007 and 2018. The results generally show that Slovenia is not an integrated and homogeneous tourism destination than the eastern part of Slovenia, and that there are individual subsystems of destinations with strong centers. The present paper discusses the heterogeneity of the apartment market. For this purpose, we have developed the model for the mass valuation of apartments in the Republic of Slovenia. The construction of the mass valuation model is based on the generalised additive model approach. In this paper, the development of the model is presented. In the experimental part, the analysis of the results of the two models is performed. The dependent variable (the price of an apartment) is distributed according to the Gaussian and the gamma distributions. Particular attention has been paid to the impact of the transaction time on the apartments’ transaction value. The results of the model are also compared with the results of the mass valuation model in the Republic of Slovenia, which is carried out cyclically and iteratively, the results of which depend on the results (and mass valuation models) of previous cycles.

NONRENEWABLE natural resources , *CONSERVATION of natural resources , *HYDROMORPHIC soils , *SOIL crusting , *FARMS , *TOPSOIL - Abstract
Agricultural soils are a non-renewable natural resource, and substitute land can only be acquired at the cost of losing other resources, such as forest ecosystems or restoring degraded land. An alternative is to improve soils of poorer quality through topsoil application and meliorative measures, thus increasing the production potential of existing agricultural land. In this paper, we present the measure of topsoil addition for maintaining production potential and the method of calculating the agricultural land equivalent (EKZ) to evaluate the impact of topsoil addition. The EKZ method was tested on hydromorphic and automorphic soils and on fragmented and consolidated agricultural land. The examples of EKZ calculation presented show that the addition of fertile topsoil can be an appropriate measure to mitigate the effects of soil sealing on the loss of production potential of agricultural land but not to the same extent for all soil types. The effect is greater when we improve low-quality soils such as gley soils or shallow soils with coarse particles. The EKZ method is objective, taking into account the original extent, land rating value, shape, and fragmentation of soils, as well as soils after topsoil has been added. The method also supports the rational use of the removed fertile soil and thus the conservation of a non-renewable natural resource. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper presents an alternative method for tracking the spatiotemporal dynamics of social interactions in public space in the context of the European Capital of Culture-based urban regeneration. The paper analyses publicly available geolocated data from two social media platforms, Instagram and Flickr, which are characterised by the posting of photos on the Internet. The quantity of social media posts in a given time period is used as a proxy indicator to identify and retrospectively analyse the attractiveness and spatiotemporal dynamics of public spaces. Using georeferenced interaction data from social media platforms, two case studies of regenerated public spaces from ECoC cities are presented: the DEPO2015 area in Pilsen (Czech Republic) and the DOKK1 urban waterfront in Aarhus (Denmark). The results show that the data from the Flickr platform, which allows access to the exact geolocation of the posted photos, can reveal attractive public spaces, as the popular landmarks were clearly identified on the generated heatmaps. The analysis of data from the Instagram social media platform, which uses georeferencing, can reveal the most important events and should be thus considered a valuable proxy for determining the overall level of social interaction in a public space. The methodology presented is particularly well suited for the analysis of central locations and special events, as is the case with the ECoC.
