Abstract

Summary 1.Five hundred completely asymptomatic males aged 17 to 25 years were subjected to proctosigmoidoscopy. 2.Eight (1.6 per cent) were found to have rectal polyps; 2 of these patients had multiple polyps; all polyps were benign. 3.The pertinent literature is reviewed and our findings compared. 4.Our findings lead us to urge strongly that proctosigmoidoscopy be in cluded in the complete physical examination of all patients.
