The article presents an update on the economic performance of the U.S. as of April 1955. A Federal Reserve Board report revealed growth in industrial production in 1955 compared to the previous year. Economists raise concern over the way Americans were incurring debt and indications of financial recklessness are identified including increases in outstanding consumer credit, surrenders of life insurance policies and non-farm real estate mortgage foreclosures.
