Abstract

The Pb(Zr0.56Ti0.44)O3 (PZT) ceramics was subjected to a pressure-induced activation at 320 MPa in a Bridgman anvil, where a load pressure was combined with a shear deformation. The induced changes in the linear and angular parameters of a unit cell, in the ratio of coexisting rhombohedral (R3m) and tetragonal (P4mm) phases as well as in the dielectric properties were analyzed. Abstract

The temperature dependence of dielectric properties and photoluminescence (PL) of glass semiconductor SbSI is studied. According to measurements of the dielectric constant and polarization the first-order structural phase transition into the polar state (dipolar glass) is realized at T = 198 K. A complex spectrum of the found PL in the glass SbSI is related to two types of structural units. A wide radiation band, PL maximum location and large Stocks shift prove the existence of a strong electron-phonon interaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
