The author discusses the debate over the increase in immigration rates in Great Britain and addresses the benefits being provided by immigrants to the agricultural industry. He mentions the refusal of locals to do the farm jobs that immigrants were willing to do. The significant reliance of labor-intensive agriculture and horticulture on immigrant labor is addressed. Concerns about who will perform the jobs that immigrants do when they return to their home countries are also considered.
