The article discusses the significance of computer browsers to software as a service (SAAS) vendors in the U.S. It is important to core computer operations because all these processes are delivered over the Web in a SAAS model wherein the applications are accessed through a Web browser that acts as an operating system. At present, users do not open a Web browser and then use a bookmark to access a particular Web applications but such applications are installed and deployed as if they were desktop applications. At the usual platform, users launch them from their Start menu or desktop and the SAAS application run in its own single purpose browser window.
