- Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the efficacy and safety of quetiapine and amisulpride in treatment of mental disorder induced by elderly cerebrovascular diseases. METHODS: 82 patients with mental disorder induced by elderly cerebrovascular diseases admitted into Jinzhou Kangning Hospital from Feb. 2015 to Sep. 2016 were retrospectively selected and divided into observation group and control group according to different therapeutic options, with 41 cases in each. The control group was treated with quetiapine, while the observation group was given amisulpride, both groups received a 2-month treatment. Scores of brief psychiatric rating scale (BPRS) and scale for the assessment of negative symptoms (SANS), clinical efficacy and incidences of adverse drug reactions of two groups were observed. RESULTS: y\t half a month, 1 month and 2 months alter treatment, the BPRS score and SANS score of both groups were significantly improved than those of before treatment, with statistically significant difference (P <0.05), while no statistical significances were found in intergroup comparisons (P>0. 05); the total effective rate of observation group (95. 12%, 39/41) was significantly higher than that of the control group (78. 05%, 32/41), with statistically significant difference (P <0. 05) ; the incidence of adverse drug reactions of observation group (14. 64%, 6/41) was significantly lower than that of the control group (70.73%, 29/41), with statistically significant difference (P<0. 05). CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of quetiapine and amisulpride in treatment of mental disorder induced bv elderly cerebrovascular diseases are both remarkable, yet the amisulpride performed better in efficacy and safety.
